If you live with chronic depression, what has helped you the most in dealing with it so you can live a normal life?

I've tried therapy and several medications in the past, but they didn't really help and the side effects were pretty rough. I also can't afford treatment right now so trying that again isn't really an option. I can't get a job or maintain friendships because of this. I've been like this for more than 15 years and I'm honestly at my limit. I'd really appreciate hearing what has helped others.

#is there really something that can help? please i don't know what to do anymore #the only things that make me feel better are weed and alcohol #but i can't keep relying on that crap... it's also really fucking expensive #delete later

i saw your post about content (gore) and i think as long as you tag appropriately, you can even tag as mature (i think mature includes stuff that’s not safe for work) if you want

most people tag like ‘tw: gore’ (‘cw: gore’) and ‘gore’

this way people who want to avoid gore can filter and people who want to see gore can also filter

i have seen some people put it under ‘read more’ but that might be a different/new convention (mainly because not everyone tags reblogs)
