Woah, I have 70 followers here? CRAZY! I’ve just gotten in the habit of minding Tumblr again. I suppose I might as well show off this portrait I just finished of Attorney Nate Broady.

I remember a few weeks ago I was walking down the street. On my way to transit my eyes are adjusting as I turn towards the bright sun. I suppose my act of squinting in discomfort shares visage with laughter because someone I'd never see angrily snaps, "What the f◾⚫k are you smiling at!" I was late so that didn't go anywhere- only I would. ----- Like this post on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/p/BzDSPGggWzv/
I've always had a strong love for the obscure. In America, I think it is fair to say most people have not seen this character. In Japan, he's much more well-known, starring in Japanese comics as early as 1968, as well as multiple cartoons and even a live-action adaptation that's lost to the sands of time save a recording of the opening introduction. The enigmatic salesman, Moguro Fukuzo, shows up in people's lives and offers to sell them something to solve their problems, though in almost every case it backfires, or he comes after them and ruins their lives before finding new customers to 'help'. The vibe reminds me of the old Twilight Zone in some way. The art is really charming! While he isn't popular enough to carry an animated TV show these days, there are still statues of him in Japan and lots of photos of him in adverts- to my understanding, at least. Charming! Charming I say! How can you say no to that smile? If I got any of this wrong, feel free to correct me. BUT! Colors by me, wonderful lineart donated by the talented @kelseypencil !!! She handled the hard part so I could do what I do best. Scribblin all over the damn thing. Remember to turn your phone's brightness down when you're in the dark lest you strain thine eyes.

My first ever foray into the world of 3D modeling that I’m proud of! Sculpted during one of the first ever VR classes using Oculus Rift with the Medium program. I named him Governor Tectadutch. The work shop was coached by reps from Medium, 3D character artist Gio Nakpil, using equipment graciously provided by Oculus.
Everyone was so pretentious, it was cute. LA is so cute! Lol I’m so glad to be away from the South. We had NOTHING like this there... we had methamphetamine and beer! As soon as I can figure out what kind of rig I need to support an oculus and get everything working I’m going to leap into this sort of thing and make my life revolve around it.
Attention ALL artists!
You sure have seen this post. It has spread like wildfire over the past few days so I doubt there is any artist out there who hasn’t seen it. But even if you didn’t, you should read on because I’m about to tell you a handy little thing that can help you to protect your art from such assholes as the anon who submitted this bullcrap, as well as art thieves in general.
The magic word is Metadata.
Metadata is like an invisible signature that is embeded into a file. It can contain all kinds of information, like Title, date, keywords for online seach engines, and copyright information. And the best thing is, since this information is “hidden” in the code of your picture, it’s hard to remove it.
There is a nice basic tutorial on how to add Metadata, or “additional file information” to your images in photoshop. It’s really, really easy so check it out!
“Adding Your Contact And Copyright Info To Your Photos With Photoshop” on PhotoshopEssentials.com
I’m not sure if you can do the same with any other art program. If you know how to do this in other programs / can confirm that it works the same way there, please tell me so I can add the information to this post.
Adding the Metadata will not stop idiots from taking and reposting your art. It also won’t make them stop editing out your signature. It WILL however, help you prove that you are the original artist whenever you have to. Always remember my friends. You, the artist, are protected by law. No one has the right to take your intellectual property and hard work and repost, use or edit it without your permission. Ever.
art thief: well how can you prove its yours??
me: /opens metadata
I spread the word as it is important to all artist who ever suffered from art thieving or so.
You guys, metadata is super important, you guys. In an everday and legal sense. People legitimately look at and rely on metadata to know the basic, but important bits of information about a digital product (paintings, photographs, exe files, etc.), ESPECIALLY the source.
Don’t underestimate it!
