That scene with Alicent and Daeron is so dumb. Alicent literally said that she saw Dayron once when he was little and then she sees fake Daeron and she's being like, it's not him. Seriously? And why she didn't agree to play along? It's in her interests and the interests of the real Daeron, isn't it?

I thoughts about the same thing when I saw it first. She is is more cunning than that. Whatever rewatching you can see that she is trying to figure out in real time if is better for her to play along or not.

I think ultimately she said the true because the truth would come out eventually either way. Ormund only did that to gain time too. So if she play along she and Heleana could suffer consequences for it. And you already can see she was not happy about it before because Rae rae didn't follow their deal and now is on her hands.
