Itâs OK to Say âNoâ âŠ
1. If you donât want to do it ⊠2. If you donât like the people ⊠3. If youâd rather relax ⊠4. If youâre already overscheduled⊠5. If you donât have the time ⊠6. If it doesnât fit your values ⊠7. If you feel forced to say âyesâ âŠ
Hey everyone! Iâm Candace Conway and I do all the Social Media/ PR stuff for our chapter of TWLOHA. I am a social work major and am interested in getting involved in addiction counseling. Some of my interests are music, reading, and anything I can binge watch on Netflix.Â
Hello, my name is Kevana "Kevvi" West. As president of Twloha MTSU my goal is spread positivity throughout my community. I like to combine what I have learned as a psychology major with the skills I have acquired as a camp counselor to make talking about suicide prevention and the stigma that surrounds psychological disability interesting. A few of my favorite things include cats, Arts and crafts, music, and dance.
Wherever you are, however you are celebrating, whomever you are withâchoose joy today.
âAnd yet spending time by yourself is how we figure out who we are and what we really loveâ
There will come a time when you want to cut off all your hair. Do it. Realise that the thing you want rid of doesnât lie in the long curls that frame your face so perfectly. Live with short hair for a while. Itâll grow. You wonât always want to talk to people. Thatâs okay. When itâs late and you hear your friends talking in the next room, you donât have to join them. Youâre allowed your solitude. It makes company sweeter and it teaches you how to survive alone. You will need that skill. In the winter, youâll believe that nothing will ever grow again. Youâre wrong. Every year, London looks like itâs on its last legs, wheezing through those last cold days in March. Every year, spring comes like an explosion and the city shakes off its sleep. Mundane problems will get the better of you sometimes. Donât worry. Try as you might, life cannot be an endless, beautiful, intense moment. Find comfort in money worries and late trains; theyâre a welcome rest in between heartbreaks and breakdowns. People will call you a cynic, a wry smile on their faces. Pay them no mind. You alone know that you are capable of a love greater than anything they can comprehend. You alone know that you are not willing to sell your identity and respect to the first smirking halfwit to pass by. It is not cynicism. It is reverence for your own vast and fathomless heart, and it makes sense only to love someone who understands that and is awed by it. You will not always get what you want when you want it. Accept it. Your goals are not set in stone and you are not on a fixed trajectory. Sometimes, life will take its time and you will have to play the long, interminable game. Play it well and with as much grace as you can muster. Live at your own pace. At night, you will occasionally wake up afraid, wanting to die. Donât give in. Night plays its tricks, but you are not so easily fooled. Your mind will play its tricks, too. It will make you believe that youâre not who you are, but you must not give in. You take a breath and you tell yourself that you are here. That you always were.
Practical Advice for Difficult Women (#20 - 9th December)
For what itâs worth: itâs never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life youâre proud of, and if you find youâre not, I hope you have the strength to start over again.

From time to time, I'll be reblogging positive messages on this blog, and I desperately need to increase the amount of hope, love, and positivity on my dash! If you tend to post things like these, please like or reblog this post so I can follow you! I'd much appreciate it.Â
Nobody can save you but Yourself And youâre worth saving. Itâs a war not easily won But if anything is worth winning then This is it.

Our job is to love people. When it hurts. When itâs awkward. When itâs uncool and embarrassing. Our job is to stand together, to carry the burdens of one another and to meet each other in our questions.
Jamie Tworkowksi (via godmoves)
For years mental health professionals taught people that they could be psychologically healthy without social support, that âunless you love yourself, no one else will love you.â Women were told that they didnât need men, and vice versa. People without any relationships were believed to be as healthy as those who had many. These ideas contradict the fundamental biology of human species: we are social mammals and could never have survived without deeply interconnected and interdependent human contact. The truth is, you cannot love yourself unless you have been loved and are loved. The capacity to love cannot be built in isolation.
