exercise 15 Hardie hillside compositions

1 To renovate and add the private property to Hardie in a way students can use it in a fun creative manner. My layout is created to stimulate a creative mind and to ease the stress of school. I despised to use a pool in my design because I find swimming helps me create ideas in my head and relax after tests or hard classes. I also put in a trampoline because multiple times I’ve heard students say they love bounce castles and those places like sky zone. I chose to put them next to each other so students can use a bounce bridge to jump from the trampoline to the pool. In the Park I wanted a serene place for students to work so the layout is more natural with trees and flowers and benches. I chose to have the parking lot towards the side so people can still park at the Hardie Building. Finally I chose to have this landscape with color because I have more of a creative stimulation proses to go along with this then the next one which is more practical and structural.

2 In landscape two I chose to create what I think this school needs. I created a new side entrance in Hardie and created a new greenhouse connected to it. The greenhouse is the rectangle with lines. This it to create a new space to recreate a garden club, a new place for photography and the creation of arts, or a place where the stress reduction yoga can be held. The parking lot is open with a closing gate so people with passes can park there so no one parks illegally. Then in the park area I set up tables for outside eating or creating with benches around and lots of trees to keep the area shaded. Now I chose to create a second level in this plan using a cave entrance to connect it. In the second level is a cafeteria with kitchen since the school is getting more students it might benefit to create a meal plan to help with progress. It is fully stocked with a gourmet kitchen and lots of tables with clear paths between them. As I said I chose to create this plan without color because it is more structural and to the point.

Courtyard Piece. This plan brings the community together while using the lost space that we have behind the school. This plan is a good idea because the space can be used as an outdoor classroom, a hangout space, and a place to view art that students create and display for everyone to see. Students keep the area clean and we rotate sculptures every 2-3 months to keep the exhibit space fresh.

Cade, 23 April 2018 another view of the void (cosmos); prompted a discussion of lights, night. patterns (as if closeup of solar surface), suggest constant change and turmoil, that might be technically possible in solid state obsidian surface, and thinner lines revealing light within.

Why should we make the hill behind the Hardie building a pit directly to space? Well, first of all, it would look pretty awesome, But second, we could actually make it. There is jet black powder that can be mixed into concrete. This way we don't need to use asphalt. We could easily use the same implanted light system used in many town squares here at Montserrat. By placing these lights in a way reminiscent of the galaxy, it would give students a place to visit and gaze. This project works both in the day and night. In the night, the lights will be bright, creating a star like expanse open for people to walk across or sit by. It is the perfect thing for students, especially art students. Through the transitional aspect of this piece, it exceeds the boundaries of day and night. Having this installation could be very calming for students to look at or do homework near. There is always something calming and beautiful about lights shining across the ground. It would also be an exceptional place for photography and film. Another usage could be for dances. I am unsure if Montserrat actually has dances but it might be nice to attend one on a spring night where the floor is a representation of a galaxy.
