hey, so I’m not trying to accuse anyone or start any fights, but:

as an artist and generally as a person who has gotten really sick of seeing AI images everywhere for a myriad of reasons (the most objective of which is the tremendous harm it does to the environment, on top of the fact that it’s built from the work of thousands of artists without any form of compensation or consent), it really disappoints me to see people in this community using AI-generated profile pictures.

I’d make the humble request that if you want to have your profile picture represent you and don’t want to use a photo of yourself or commission an artist (which is entirely reasonable), then at least just use a free avatar creator, of which there are dozens of options.

I know I can’t control the actions of others and I’m not trying to call anyone a bad person, but I felt the need to express this opinion.
