// Uh, yo, I’ve been absent for quite some time, and honestly I’m not sure when I’ll be back, if ever. I’ve been severely slacking off on a video game project that I’m getting more momentum on, as well as dedicating time to getting better at fighting games and researching each of them for said VG project. 

I may come back at a future date or even just pick up somebody else for a fresh slate much much later, but right now I have other things to focus on that have brighter burning motivations and passions for and that will move me towards my personal goals.

“No!! Why would I put my nose in bear traps?!” Ino frowned, consciously running a finger across over her nose. Yes, it was still intact and still as lovely as always. Perfectly centred.

She listened to him, unsurprised to find that he was a brawler- but she was concerned about how his life was valued less than money.

“Ehh.. then… would you fight for me, if I paid you?” She proposed with a cool glance.

It would be good to have someone that could have the muscle that Chouji provided on her team. Ino needed someone strong enough to protect her body, should the need arise when she would use her jutsu.

“Of course, I’ll pay you once I see you fight.”

“I’m saying you’re putting your nose in someplace it doesn’t belong.” The better analogy might’ve been putting her face too close to a snake’s tunnel. 

Yamazaki had some semblance of self-preservation--he couldn’t make money if he was dead, he couldn’t continue his vicious violent streak, either. Speaking of violent streaks...

“Oh, that’s just rich. Really? You’re gonna pull this? Sure, I do bodygaurd jobs too, but...kii-hehe...GYA HA HA!!” his chuckle breaks into laughter, that resembled more high pitched screaming than a deep chortle one might expect from a man with a low voice like his own.

“You’re not gonna like how I fight, not to mention I have some doubts you have the cash to afford me.” The ends justify the means, was it? He was a notoriously dirty fighter; if not for being run by shady individuals, it would have been a wonder they let him fight in the King of Fighters tournaments.

Harley didn’t always chase after men that weren’t Mr. J, especially considering he had quite the jealous streak and had killed more than one of Harley’s potential interests, but when she did it was go big or go home. And wow was this guy big. And he just looked so angry… she just had to go say hi.

She waltzed on over to the giant brute with a sweet, innocent little smile and stopped right in his way. “Hey good lookin’, what’s cookin’? Where ya goin’? Mind if I tag along? Course ya don’t, let’s go!” And with that, she turned on her heel and started marching in the direction he was going before she’d interrupted him. Of course he’d follow her, he had to. She was looking especially cute that day.

Spaced out on his way to the next job, fingers in his pocket rubbing against his wallet idly; he tried focusing more on the sounds of the city, rather than his thoughts. And where he was headed, for that matter.

Yamazaki traced over each and every street sign, until a strange woman pulled his gaze away. She might’ve wanted some look of astonishment, attraction, something of that sort--but it was just disgust.   

“Yeah I fuckin mind! I ain’t a walking gold mine! Go dig in somebody else’s pockets.” 

He stops walking, sneering at her while she continues on his path.

“What other things?” she couldn’t help but to ask, even when he said it wasn’t her business.

It sort of was her business. She was a medical ninja and she couldn’t quite ignore someone who was running their body down like that. 

“Don’t kill yourself over money! And lack of sleep leads to a lot of other disorders. Sometimes, it even distorts your reality or perception of time!”

She wouldn’t let him slip by without a word. And knowing she was a goody goody toe shoes, he wouldn’t be saying anything she could tattle on him for. Why did she care so much, anyway? If she knew better, she wouldn’t even show a tinge of concern for him. 

“You put that nose of yours in bear traps often? I street fight, is that a good enough answer?” not quite untrue, “Money’s all I need, if I almost die, that’s half the thrill.”  

The other half of the thrill is beating the opponent into a fine, bloody pulp.  

“The hallucinations haven’t started yet, so rest your pretty little head, and get out of my hair about it, okay?”

The ‘phone’ he was given was a bit complex for his time. No, really complex. It was entirely a screen, and had way too many gadgets and gizmos for his taste, and entirely too fragile compared to the cellphones of 1998. “I vote fire next time, Snakey,” she winked, despite the fun lacking in explosions. “But next time ya feel like lettin’ off some steam, you just give good ol’ Harley a call. We’ll turn it into a real blast.”

“Well your vote doesn’t count because I didn’t say you could fucking kiss me, or touch me, like that!!” The way his voice went from deep to screeching high pitch was a strange feat he was capable of. 

“And fire doesn’t make anybody bleed. It ain’t personal enough for my taste.” And back to low again. He sneered at Harley as she made her way out. But that didn’t exactly mean he wouldn’t take up her offer, later. “I’ll let you know when the temperature drops in hell.” a little more possible than hell completely freezing over.

She was shorter than him, a lot of people were. Standing at 6′ 3″ there wasn’t many people who made him look anywhere but down. 

It just looked like she wanted to look closer at something, so he narrowed his eyes at her. “What?” 

Then a gentle peck was given to his jaw, and his eyebrows and chest rose with an increasing look of disgust on his face. The way his face and mouth kept moving silently, he was stuck between horror and anger at the sudden affection.

It was a bloody mess they made, and whoever the girl was that joined him seemed to enjoy it as much as he did. Her walk was almost like a dance as she passed behind his line of vision. 

Yamazaki kicked at the head of a dead man, making sure he was, in fact, 100% dead. 

“Y’know, that was pretty unsatisfy--hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!” Yamazaki screeches mid-sentence, feeling the sudden kiss to the back of his neck. He freezes and remains in a cringing pose, slowly turning his head towards the girl with wide eyes. Oh, she might just be the victim he needs, now.

Yamazaki was tired, unresponsive, and every muscle seemed to ache. He slowly sipped tea, the warmth bringing him even closer to sleep. Head tilted slightly, his neck was out in the open.

Someone had decided to take advantage of the situation, and kissed him right on the throat. He wanted to move away in response, but with no support from his right hand being in his pocket, and tired as he was, he fell directly onto the floor out of his chair. 

He makes a high pitched growling sound and kicks the chair towards the kisser, too tired to get up from his spot and plotting to hit the other whenever he woke up. Man, the floor felt comfy.

Yamazaki shook his right hand out, muttering about a broken nail. Being as short as they were, it broke right apart on the skin, causing a sharp, annoying pain in it. 

Yuuka tilted curiously to take a peek at it, and gently took it. Yamazaki paid more attention glaring at the corpse of the man who’d caused it and his thick skin and gloves made it hard to feel her lift it up until the moment she gently presses her lips against the wound, the tip of his fingers feeling the kiss.

“..?!” he pulls his hand back and shrieks, “What’re you trying to do?! Eat my finger? It ain’t dead yet! Christ!”

“Three day limit?” Ino raised her brows at the man, getting used to his boulder of a face. It was remarkable how tough his skin appeared to be.

Passing out for an entire day?!

Ino may judge quickly, but she also changed her mind about others just as swiftly. The medic in her grew increasingly concerned with what he had just revealed.

“Are you insane?! What do you even do?!”

“I wouldn’t call being able to stay up three consecutive days insane, compared to the others things I do with my life--which is none of your goddamn business, by the way. I make some good cash and I can barely sleep peacefully anyway, so why the hell not?” He’s known how to do this for years.
