It's been a while coming, but finally The Whomping Willow is returning to a jcink site near you. After a short sabbatical, the staff of the site that was open for over three years has decided to open the doors anew. But there's a catch. We'll be going back to our original canon divergent plot, and we'll be re-opening on a brand new site. Watch out for updates in the mean time and please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have!

There is a template for the app itself, but not for its content. Our application is freestyle in that regard. So feel free to go crazy and have some fun with it, Meg!

I'm getting really excited! Lily's app is finished and everything. But I was wondering who the most wanted characters are going to be?

Why, got some friends looking for a new home Ivy? :P We're glad you're getting excited (so are we), but honestly we can't be certain until people start registering and we get a feel for our new members and the characters they bring with them. In a more general sense, it's probably safe to say we'd love any Hufflepuffs or Hogwarts Staff that come along, but that's usually a given with most Potter sites. Of course, you and some of the Marauders might be interested in us finding you a Snape, and if so we'll definitely work hard to do that for you! - Jenna

I really like the look of this site and I want to reserve a character, but my favourite has already been reserved so I'd like to think about it for a bit—is there any way you could let me know when this starts along with the people who have reserved people already, or will I definitely need to reserve someone before being notified? :) Thanks, Jane xo

We can most definitely let you know! We'll be having our soft opening (namely for reserved characters and faces) on the first, and our grand public opening will be on the fifth. We'll be sure to drop you a link when we send out the opening notice! - Jenna

That’s a good question, Anon! And the short answer is yes, we do. The longer answer is that all special abilities - even the more common ones - need to be discussed with an admin and approved before apping unless they’re canon, but that’s pretty universal. Anyway, hope that answered your question, Anon!

Either girl would make a great Alice, Meg! Personally I see her as more of a Jennifer than a Jessica, but it’s no trouble to reserve all three of them for you until you’ve figured our who best fits the Alice you have in your head. Just let us know closer to opening, okay? :)
