Pirate Captain ;; open
Becoming a Captain of your own ship wasn’t easy, getting men to follow you wasn’t easy, it had actually taken years for him to get to a point where he could command any sort of respect. But it was though all that hard work that he managed to become Captain of the Golden Sea. But, he wasn’t the one who named his ship, the little boy he took with him and was practically his own son at this point did. Henry loved the sea and because Wyatt refused to name the ship the blue sea they had to settle on Golden. He didn’t mind, though, he grew a bit attached to the silly name and it was better than what some people named theirs.
Henry had become known around the boat as Li'l Captain even though he never spoke, most the time he actually just stayed near Wyatt’s side up at the main deck. Occasional he’d wander away, but mostly when something exciting was happening like the whales or jellyfish. He wasn’t overly fond of fish though, there was a cat they kept around for the mice that he was incredibly fond of. Even the birds or the dogs that wandered on deck didn’t get nearly as much love as that cat did and Wyatt couldn’t understand why. Honestly, he was more of a dog person himself, but for Henry he’d keep the cat’s around.
They had docked at a town to stock up on supplies, Henry running around on the boat and trying to get a bowl for food for the cat, when the boy ran right into someones legs. He was knocked back and down onto his butt, getting Wyatt’s attention when the wooden bowl clattered down to the ground. The Captain made his way over to the boy and stepped a bit in front of him, one hand resting on the hilt of one of his swords as he looked up to the stranger. “Can we help you?”
Plot # 32: Unteachable ;; open
The Carnival came to town every year before the start of school, the kids tended to consider it their ‘last bit of fun before hell’. It was great really, and even Henry enjoyed it. Wyatt never got to take him before though because he was far to shy and had no friends to attend with. Of course as Papa he offered to take the boy but he didn’t want to go with Wyatt for some reason he had yet to understand. Maybe it was old memories of his other parents, maybe it was embarrassing to go with a parent, whatever the reason was he still decided to go to the carnival on his own and get something for the boy.
However, winning things in these games never tended to be his strong suit. At one of the other games he managed to win Henry a little plush kitten, it was black and adorable but it wasn’t really much. Then, at the one with the fishing poles he got a little black beta fish with a blue streak down the back of it. He wasn’t sure if Henry was into fish but Wyatt won it anyway and he didn’t know what else to do with it. At least, until he stepped up to a booth and watched a some poor sucker lose horribly at the shooting range. Wyatt stepped up a bit closer to them as they sat the gone down and held the little bagged fish out.
“Want a fish?”
Starter Call!
“If those eyes stared straight at me, I might become unable to breathe”
