âIâm not the best at making it, but I know a place that has the best! Itâs a bit of a road trip, though! Like, a ride to South Carolina type of road trip.â Tempest grinned. âA quick search party might be the best idea. You know how I fly off at the jaw because youâre so easy to talk to!â She then listened about the puppies, which made her let out a soft and excited squeal. Nodding, Tempestâs smile grew bigger. âI love dogs, and I am not allergic at all! Even if I donât find my sketchbook, itâs going to be a great day because puppies and my favorite neighbor are in it!â
âWhatâs your take on motorcycles? A roadtrip on one is something everyone should experience.â Delivering such news as if offering it up to the woman himself, and he was. He had a âregularâ car but his true baby was up in his garage. Always having been a fan of the freedom a bike gave him and thrilling sense of life. âIn that case...â Her enthusiasm had him moving to the glass doors of his backyard. A large black pitbull already wiggling his whole body and soon a muffled yip rang clear when he opened it with his little beagle pup bounding over. âHereâs my babies!â He announced in a laugh. The creature trying to jump on his legs before noticing their guest and moving over to greet her with that same hyper welcome. âThe beagle is Daisy and I havenât named my big boy, yet.â A twinge of guilt in his voice. âPerhaps you could help me.â
Kennedy shyly chuckled, scanning the manâs face as he gleefully talked about his two pups back at home. âDogâs are better than people, so dogs definitely count. At this point in time, Iâd rather elect a pug than have a human run this country.â Her lips wrapped themselves around her wine glass, taking a classy sip. She may have seemed like a party girl who drank tequila and vodka straight, which was true, but she could appreciate a nice glass of merlot. âWhat do you do for work?â Kennedy questioned, meanwhile evaluating her own relationship status. She certainly had her fair share of conquests in the streets of New York, but recently she had flirted with the idea of settling down. âI usually have luck, but youâre a tough cookie to crack.â Her eyes met his as she spoke. âI met a girl. I donât quite know if sheâs anything to write home about yet, but weâll see.âÂ
âBeagles and pitbulls have my vote.â The older man grinned. âThose are my two babies. Such an odd pair, but theyâre both so sweet.â He could honestly gush, yet he moved past it. âAh, Iâm a voice actor! You mightâve heard me in a few things? Iâve done a lot of games and cartoons, mostly. Chances are if you name one Iâve done it since Iâve been in the business so long.â It was meant as a joke but more than likely true. He hardly turned down any roles unless it was from a completely unethical company or something like that. Work was work and he adored his job like no other. âYourself?â It seemed only fair to ask. When she spoke of a girl. A soft contemplative smile settled to the corners of his mouth jsut enough to leave a light trace. âMh, just met her, I suppose? Thatâs always an exciting time in any relationship. All the new beginnings. Talking and finding out the âme toosâ and âoh reallys?â of each other and so forth. Itâs a fantastic thing.â
âI know Iâve texted you this morning and keep saying it every time I see you, babe.. but happy birthday!â The Astronomy professor gave the older man a huge grin. The two of them had been dating on the down low for a few years now and Tristain wanted to do something special for Travisâ birthday this year. âIâve got a fun night planned! We can have a picnic out under the stars, and Iâll give you all your presents plus a surprise!â He was very excited to show the surprise. âThere will definitely be cake.â
@txbaker
A warm chortle came with his brown eyes sparkling under the manâs presence. Tristain was such a bright spot in his life and while they kept it professional around the students, now when they were alone, the older came to collect his boyfriend into a large hug. âYou know I only remembered today because of your messages, right?â His voice just as bright as his mood was. Releasing an animated gasp with the roster he was told. âAll of that on top of a surprise? What surprise? Can we get started now? Do I.. Need to bring anything? Extra blanket, maybe?â
Andrew smiled, just hearing how good it was had him looking forward to it. With time off and getting to see family, now he had one more reason to enjoy the coming holiday. âI havenât had the pleasure. Iâll be sure to order it for thanksgiving.â Andrew was very thankful for his offer, he mightâve been worried the encounter would end when he sat up, knowing he was welcome and would have wonderful company was great. âOh wow thank you, Iâll be right back if thatâs okay.â Giving a slight nod he made his way to the front of the restaurant making his usual order before returning to the table.Â
âIâll be here.â The older affirmed. He was something of an introvert and yet he enjoyed meeting such kind fans like Andrew. It would also enjoy the man got something in his belly and he was all for healthy living. Taking up his drink, he sipped at the cold liquid as he waited for the otherâs return as promised.
Nicknames: None that heâs aware of although some might refer to him in some sense of strange/weird play on words.
Occupation: Divinations Professor
Age: 54
Nationality: British
Blood Type:Â Muggle Born
ABOUT
Personality: Heâs a bit of an oddball. Very much of the hippie type of mindset to live and let live with beliefs held in all sorts of realms of the strange and unusual with no shame in voicing them to anyone who asks. Heâs also very sweet and understanding, never one to judge anyone based off their background/beliefs/and so on.
Hobbies/Interests:Â Astronomy, Ghosts, Aliens, Magical Theories/Histories, Dream Interpretations, and Nature.
Magical Origins: Travis LOATHES having short hair. Always has. When he was five, his father finally forced him to go get a âregular boyâs cutâ aka a buzz cut, the boy cried the whole time. Over the course of the next few days, the dark hair grew rather rapidly back to the soft length he wears to this day to frame his face and it continued every time someone chopped off his locks.
Family Background/Home Life: Travisâ parents were as normal as normal could be. Imagine the description of the Dursleyâs but, well, nicer. Small plainly uniform house, uniform car, middle class. They were just regular people who lived their lives and raised what happened to be a magical boy. Oddities would always happen with him at the center with his mother grinning and bearing it and his father a little more anxious about the whole thing. The explanation came when he got his Hogwarts letter and, after much debate, they let him go. He kept an amiable, if someone misunderstood relationship with his family. Once they passed away a few years back, Travis took it upon himself to take up permanent residency in one of the Hogwartâs towers close to his classroom where he teaches. Content to live his days both in summer and school seasons with two (now) of his precious pets.
Hogwarts Life: Heâs a man content on spending his days up in his section of the castle. Looking out over the beauty of the landscape with his cats when he isnât teaching. Though, he always goes down to share meals with his fellow students and professors. Even if he doesnât speak much, he finds just their presence comforting. Whenever he does venture out, he likes to go to the lake and take in the serene calmness of it.

âMaybe you did. Apple is the best of the fruit based pies. I do happen to love french silk pie, myself. Right after apple, of course. And the smell in the house when apple pie is baking is like a warm hug.â Tempest truly always enjoyed the otherâs company, but she never wanted to seem like too much of a bother. Plus, their schedules seemed to clash. She appreciated the warmth of her neighbor welcoming her into his home. âOh? Well, thatâs okay. I figured it was a long shot. Iâm almost certain Iâm probably going to stop looking and it will be right where I left it. The universe is funny that way sometimes. Youâre so kind to offer to help me look, though.â
Dark eyes squinted as he tried filing through his brain to bring about some sort of memory. âYou know, Iâm not sure Iâve ever had french silk pie?â If he had, itâd been long enough to escape him. Though, he did concur with her opinion on the effects of the apple variety itself. Her book seemed like a more pressing topic, however, and his compelling need to help was taking over. âWould you like us to have a quick search party in the back, at least?â Knowing how important the item was to her, it seemed only fair before heâd partake in any tempting slices or gulp down a glass of her drink. âIf anything, weâll at least have covered some ground. Oh--!â Still being a new puppy parent, it had slipped his mind. âYou arenât allergic to dogs are you? I just got a couple. Theyâre in the back and I promise theyâre very sweet, but I wouldnât want any of their hairs in here to flare anything up for you.â
âOh trust me, Iâm just someone who states the obvious. And being the owner I donât really have to try and weasel more money for tips out of people which is nice. Most of the time Iâm behind the bar anyways, its more my speed.â She laughed, smiling at him. Biting her lip in thought, she tilted her head to the side. âWell that depends on what youâre in the mood for. We have everything from burgers to Shepherdâs Pie, and pot roast to meatloaf. Most of what I serve here is going to be home-cooked style. Iâm 3 generation family owner, and we believe in our customers being like family.âÂ
âBartenders still get their tips, though, and for good reason.â The nodded. Fingers pushing back some dark strands of hair off his face only for them to fumble back. It had been a habit of his more than anything else. Smile remaining as she helped inform him a little better. âIt all sounds delicious, if Iâm being honest, but I would like to know your favorite dish. Those types of things help me figure out what might be the cream of the crop, if you will.â
âThis is true,â she smiled softly with a nod. âI hated when they said you will need this later because I knew I wanted to be in the fashion industry and I definitely wasnât going to need anything that involved letters. The basics, I need, but not the fancy stuff.â
âCurriculum on a whole needs a major retweaking. They skew history, teach things that are rather superfluous to children and leave them totally unprepared as adults while also piling major stress and anxiety onto them. Itâs a great concept to get an education but severely flawed, if you ask me.â Travis himself was never into the whole academic thing. It was probably a reason he escaped into the realm of theatrics, honestly.
If you could switch two movie characters, what switch would lead to the most inappropriate movies?
âIs it vain to wish my Loki character in something like 50 First Dates? I feel like heâd be insanely creative to a chaotic point and itâs something I know Iâd be very entertained upon watching. Thatâs the first thing that came in to my head at any rate and heaven help poor Adam Sandler in the Marvel Universe out there.â
If you could only teach one thing to your (future) child, what would it be?
âItâs probably safe to say Iâm past my prime to have a child of my own... but assuming I do or even adopt, Iâd like to teach them the simple human decency of respect for others. Be they a king or a janitor or a beggar on the street. Of all colors and ages. Everyone deserves that kindness and respect of some form of understanding. Essentially, treat others as youâd like to be treated. The world needs more of that.â
âAn engaging conversationalist is the very first thing. Iâm an admitted oddball and someone who doesnât mind that and can indulge on my mindâs inner workings is a beautiful thing. Kindness and smarts obviously encompass that. Someone whoâs passionate as well in anything, really. So long as they just have some form of zest for life. I love that.â
âSo I was at the grocery store right? And a lady let me go in front of her, so I said âMahaloâ like any person raised on the islands yeah? And she turns to me and says âI donât speak spanishâ. I literally stood there for 5 minutes because I couldnât believe she thought I was speaking spanish.â
âSo I was at the grocery store right? And a lady let me go in front of her, so I said âMahaloâ like any person raised on the islands yeah? And she turns to me and says âI donât speak spanishâ. I literally stood there for 5 minutes because I couldnât believe she thought I was speaking spanish.â
A laugh sprang forth before his hand could stop it. Settling but not quite yet finished once he covered his mouth. âThat is adorably ironic, though. Have to say, itâs nice to hear that after so long... Mahalo.â His dark eyes reflective of a nostalgic state. âIâm sure she meant no harm, either way.â
âI respect that.â Kennedy nodded in approval, tipping her head to the older man in reverence. âA lot of people feel that way about sex. To me, I donât think intimacy should be a personal thing, more than a unique and fun experience. But, respect man.â
The man nodded in an understanding sense of his own. âItâs all really based off comfort and perspective of the individual, isnât it? Some can enjoy it without any strings attached. Some, like me, just feel more charged for such activities after knowing someone better. Establishing that ground. Itâs actually quite fascinating when you think about all the ranges that can come with it.â
A soft smile tugged on her lips at his praise. Most who complimented her she took merely with a grain of salt, if even that much. But compliments paid by Travis she knew were genuine, and she appreciated them immensely. âWell thank you Travis, that means a lot coming from you. I just figured, if the concept can be applied to algebra why not the pronunciation of words?â She nodded as she listened to him explain another theory. âNow that you say that, I do hear the difference. Itâs very well possible both letters are used in this case. And youâre right that people say it with a harder âsssâ sound, also harder than âcentâ as well.â Pen leaned back, biting her lip as she thought. âHopefully between the two of us we should be able to figure this out, else I wonât get a lick of work done.â She couldnât help but chuckle.
âA subtle distinction but when youâre in a profession like mine, you do become more sensitive to it.â Giving insight for his own perspective with a rather humble smile. Fingers came up to push back stubborn dark locks of hair after a subtle shake of his head. âI donât know if it can ever be truthfully answered considering the creator of the word has been dead for many many many years. We can only assume. like one of those enigmas people ponder over from time to time.â
