obviously we all talk about ‘if i loved you less i might be able to talk about it more’ (as we SHOULD) but we do not talk enough about how when knightley resolved to go to london to try to get over emma he waited half an hour at hartfield just to see her. and then when he found out that she wasn’t home because she was trying to make up for her behavior toward miss bates he was so overwhelmed that he nearly KISSED HER HAND in front of her father and harriet. but he DIDN’T because he thought she was in love with FRANK CHURCHILL. DRAMA!!!!!!

I think making obligatory slots for women in f1 and feeder series would make so much of a difference. if they HAD to fill a certain amount slots then they would prioritise funding women and girls in racing and karting because it would start to impact the teams in a financial way and thus making sure the talent is well established would benefit them.

it isn't enough to have f1 academy if f1 and feeder series are never going to use the talent from it, because they are overwhelmed with male racers from other places who have been given more opportunities for growth.

once they have established good grassroots and funding for karting AS WELL AS having openings that are strictly for women in f1/f2/f4 etc, we will see differences in racing. we have to force these establishments and teams and companies to give women in racing opportunities or they never will of their own volition.

A strange new substance will begin rolling off the assembly line: soft wood transformed at the molecular level into something stronger than steel yet one-sixth the weight. Its name is, maybe, a bit on the nose: Superwood. Its maker, startup InventWood, says it could someday replace steel I-beams in the skeleton of a building, while being impact-resistant enough for bulletproof doors. It’s also fire resistant—the outside carbonizes in a way that protects the inside, and it won’t sag in a fire like steel. It would be a coup if the company can replace a good chunk of construction-grade steel and concrete with scrap wood that is otherwise unusable waste.

For anyone wondering why this is potentially exciting from an environmental level, concrete and steel production are both manufacturing areas that are particularly difficult to decarbonize. Steel because creating and working with it requires such intense heat that is very difficult to create with clean energy, concrete for similar high heat reasons and that the chemical creation of cement inherently releases carbon dioxide.

If we could replace even a significant fraction of these materials with "Superwood" that could go a long way in cutting emissions--as well as recycling otherwise unusable wood waste.
