Fascinating.
' Sir? You have an amazing moustache, sir! Perhaps one day, I could grow a moustache like that! You don't see a lot of moustaches around, you know, sir? Only in good old villain movies! Do you play in one of those, sir? '

That mood swing occurred far faster than he could have anticipated. (Maybe he was spending too much time with Jim.) Severin’s voice automatically dropped to a soothing murmur, careful not to let the boy’s panic fester.
”Hey, c’mon. Are you saying I actually look old enough to retire already? I’ve still got a few decades ahead of me, I’m afraid. And even when I do retire—”, his smile returned as he nodded towards Sakhti, ”you won’t be getting rid of me so easily.”
'No, but -' There was no point in discussion there; And yet he wondered; about simple things. About life. One day, - there would be one day in which Severin would be separated from him, one way or another; could Sakthi live with that fact, that they had only but a short period of time in which they could enjoy each other's presence? Silently, Sakthi made his way towards his uncle, arms too tired to be lifted for the day had quickly passed; leaning against the man would provide some sort of hug, anyways.
" I wish we would never have to abandon each other, Uncle Severin. I wish we could play all day and eat lots of nice food, and go to zoos and theme-parks and things,- things families do. I wish I could just - be normal. Normal - with you! "
“Really? I’ve never been to London before. I think my daddy has but I haven’t. A zoo? I love zoos! My daddy took me to one back home. It had so many animals like monkeys and lions! It was cool.”
" You've never been in London before? But it's so - like, always there! I've never been outside London before! What's it like? Does it look the same? We can go to the zoo together, I know a way in, sure I do! My uncle showed it to me, once! "
[;; Man in s u i t. ]:
"I doubt you’d be able to fix this. I’ll just have my brother buy me a new one. But, more importantly—-
who is going to feed you to hounds?”
oh man. the boy had completely forgotten to hold his tongue, & it had bitterly thrown the consequences in his face. Quick, solutions - trying, lying, deceivement.
" Did I say hounds? It is only a matter of metaphor, dear sir, I can assure you! None would ever expect a Professor to act so cruel, is it not true? We're all afraid of our caretakers every once in a while, am I wrong? "
" Professor ? "
a). Provide the answer to the question given: | waɪ dɪd ðə prəˈfesə teɪk ju ɪn ɪn ðə ˈfɜːst ˈpleɪs | ju ˈevə ˈwʌndəd ? |
b). Realize but ever slowly that you are nothing but a pawn in an endless game of misery.
today, river isn’t a real girl. she isn’t the girl. the voice that drifts out past her lips isn’t hers. it’s somebody else’s words, somebody else’s memories. even her smile is borrowed, her movements plagiarized. ’your shoes are untied.’
Yes. His shoes were untied. He was well aware of this unfortunate fate that came upon him. And even though he had carefully watched not to spoil the perfect knot that were his laces, running around with a sense of enthusiasm and joy had caused that what he could not prevent.
” I,- “
Don’t know how to tie laces?
” ‘m sorry, ma’am. “

" Who goes there ? "
Hero. He would have snorted if the boy’s intentions hadn’t been so entirely pure, his words so very earnest. Wrong as he was, he’d let him believe. He merely smiled a soft smile in response.
”Retired.”
Retired? Sakthi was truthfully horrified at the thought; Severin? Retired?
"But - you can't retire! If you retire, there would be no more fun in this world! Why would you want to abandon me like that? I thought - I thought you liked me being here! You can't retire! "
”You’ve really got quite the knack for learning, don’t you? You’ll know more than me in no time, I can already see it coming. Fancy taking over my job?”
“ “
HIS JOB? LIKE, BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN SOMEONE’S LIFE? BEING EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND COOL AND AMAZING?
’ - But, - if I am to become a hero, what would you become, Uncle Severin? ‘
❝ D’you trust these people ? ❞ ❝ Is th’ professor like family t’ you ? ❞
" I'm, uh- not sure if I'm supposed to talk about it, ma'am. But the people are sort of nice. And no, no! He's not like family to me! He's my professor! My papa's not entirely like family either,- but Uncle Severin surely is! I like spending time with Uncle Severin! "
tygerii ;
”How’s that Chemistry project going, pal?”
" It's,- It's going, I suppose. I mean, breaking and reforming molecules - it isn't the hardest thing. "
"Your just a wee lad, when you get bigger you can protect a lady, yeah?” She smiled at him, happy for once that she’d made someone else happy. “I dunno, kiddo, jus’ figured ever’one likes ice cream.”
" No, ma’am, I can do this! I know it! I can! " Quite serious about the subject, Sakthi was far from letting it go. Though, for ice cream, anything is possible. ” Would there be a mango-flavour? I love mangoes. “
❛A very good question !❜ ❛And the answer is— no. No, it doesn’t.❜ ❛Though I suppose if you think about it hard enough, it could be called a distinguishing feature ———❜ ❛… You could also use it to hide small things.❜ ❛But I’ve never had to do that before.❜
‘ S - ooooo, no small things in the hat? Not even a coin or two? Do you always wear green, or do you wear different colours on different days? Or moods? Or seasons, perhaps? ’
’ Oh, sir, it is so distun- distin- distinguishing! Marvellous! Is there a store where you can buy them? A green-hat shop, sir?
I want to look just like you when I grow up - !! ‘
"You’re still jus’ a ba’e.." She muttered under her breath, before kneeling in front of the boy. A pale calloused hand ruffled the boy’s hair, “C’mon, I f’ink you need some ice cream, yeah? Be a li’le wain for a short while..”
" But I am perfectly capable of protecting ourselves from the dangers of the streets, you'll see, you'll see, ma'am !! I won't disappoint you, no ma'am! " A smile graced his face as fingers went through dark curls, and overly excited, Sakthi followed her in her footsteps. " I love ice-cream! How did you know, ma'am? Thank you, thank you! "

" Sir! I really like your hat, sir ! Does it have any purpose aside from looking fancy? "
“Where am I?”
" Don't worry, don't worry !! You're safe. We're in Regent Park, London. Have you heard of it before? It has a zoo ! "
❝ Luckily for you, tha’ wasn’t my cat. ❞ ❝ I don’t have any pets, t’ be honest. ❞
❝ Where’s your mummy and daddy, kiddo ? ❞
” You do not? Oh, oh man. I feel terribly guilty for the cat, though ! The poor thing! Uh - well,- my mum is,- not here, and my father,- it’s complicated. The professor’s people should pick me up anytime, though.”
