“Yeah, I mean- that’s just how it turns out. I get bored, though. Without a steady job, I’m just sitting around most days, which sucks when I’ve only got Hades to entertain me,” he said, nodding towards his large dog.
“I get you, I have enough money to retire now but I don’t want to stop working because then I know I’ll start drinking again and that’s not a pretty sight.” He said smiling at the big dog.
“No, it’s my job,” he said simply. “I don’t actually have to work, which means I get to do whatever I want. So I took the job because I wanted it, not because I wanted to make money.”
“Makes sense, that’s great you can do that I have to go in three to four times a week just to make sure nothing burns down.
“Don’t know yet,” Gunner shrugged his shoulders. “I usually don’t work very much. Maybe a total of seven nights out of an entire month?”
“So it’s a hobby?” He asked not wanting to offend.
“Yes, equipment,” he teased, rolling his eyes playfully. “I’m a paranormal investigator.”
“Ahh, I knew that.” He laughed taking a sip of his tea. “So when’s the next investigation?”
“Oh- just cleaning and packing away my equipment. I finished a job yesterday and I didn’t get around to it,” Gunner laughed as he settled down on the couch beside the other male.
“Equipment?” He eyed Gunner playfully thinking dirty.
“I’ll go grab that,” Gunner grinned, heading into his kitchen quickly, his obscenely large dog close at his heels before he came back with two glasses. “Yeah? Well I’m glad you came,” he hummed softly, handing the iced tea over. “Too bad you didn’t come sooner,” he added, teasing lightly.
“Thanks.” He said watching the dog follow Gunner. “What were you doing earlier?” He looked over to the kitchen.Â
“Maybe,” Gunner grinned to himself, moving out of his doorway and opening it wider so the other male could entire. “Yeah, yeah, come in, come in- I’ve got… Beer, other alcohol, soda, iced tea… Want something?”
Tyler walked in when invited and smiled. “Thank you, I could go for some iced tea.” He said sitting down on Gunners couch. “I was just bored and in the neighborhood and I just wanted to stop by and see you.” He said biting his lower lip after.
Gunner smiled, his cheeks turning slightly pink as he took the flowers. No one had ever gotten him them before- it was new. “I- thanks,” he said slowly. “I don’t think anyone’s ever gotten me flowers before, actually.”
“You said you wanted to be nice and I guessed the first step was for someone to be nice to you.” He said with a smile. “Can I come in?” He asked shyly.

Gunner was good at being cranky- but surprisingly, he hadn’t been feeling quite so cranky lately, which is why he wasn’t nearly as annoyed as he would have been a few months ago when someone knocked on the front door of his house. After calling off his dog quickly, he opened the door, a smile spreading across his face. “Tyler, hey,” he breathed.
Tyler was a bit nervous something told him to run away but he didn’t he stood there like his feet were planted in cement. When Gunner answered the door he smiled handing him the flowers. “I got you these because they’re nice.”
Tyler hadn’t talked to Gunner since their last conversation but there was something about him that Tyler found incredibly attractive. He knocked on Gunners doors with flowers behind his back.

“Because I hate him, and  I want his stuff gone.”
“You actually hate him?”
“It’s alright, happens to all of us. Sorry for snapping on you.”
“I’m just gonna go somewhere that I can be louder. Sorry again for bothering you.”
