After being sent home from a mission for nausea, Mei knew it was time.
She couldn’t put it off much longer. So the next morning she showed up at the Vanguard Hospital asking for Viktor’s help. It helped that Ty came along with her.
Mei would keep silent for most of the procedure. Keeping her eyes closed and focusing on her hand grasping Ty’s.
It was a strange feeling to go through with it. Its not as is Mei had ever considered being a mother but there was still something tragic about an abortion. But to her credit, she managed to remain fairly composed throughout the whole thing. Only Ty might get a sense of how she was really feeling by the way she held tightly onto his hand.

If the numbness of his fingers was any indication, that hadn’t been easy on her. Typhoro stood at a window, his back to Meifeng, who lay resting. During the procedure he’d forced himself to remain calm, to be that emotional anchor so sought after in trying times.
Now that his back was turned, Ty felt justified to a moment of irrational doubt. The reasons for the procedure were myriad and strong, but there was a tugging feeling at the back of his mind that perhaps, just maybe, they should’ve given it a try.
Typhoro chewed on that thought as he massaged his hand, eyes following a hawk not far overhead. Gradually the doubt faded. He valued his freedom.
