The end of Blades III marks the conclusion of an epic five-year journey! A quest that took us from the small town of Riverbend, across Morella, to the Shadow Realm, and to the Afterlife. Along with the unforgettable locations, we met the most incredible cast of characters that became our friends, lovers, and maybe even our spouse (determinant). So before I close out the Blades III book club I wanted to host a few more end of series polls! If you have a poll you'd like to see, please reach out, I'd be happy to add it.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, this is bad. This is very, very bad. This is really bad … They just can’t get my nose right!
I can’t believe it’s already been a week since Blades officially ended… how has it been a week already?! 😭 I’m definitely not over it yet!
I’ve been holding onto this art by the incredible @cashweasel to post today. I hope it brightens your day as much as it’s brightened mine!
This wanted poster is part of a larger Blades x Tangled art piece.

blades is officially over, I married the love of my life and I can finally say goodbye to this app
I do wanna give my genuine thoughts for a second on bolas 3
This fandom has been dead to me for a long time and the only reason I even still have this blog is because of bolas. It was just so genuinely good and thoughtful that it made me hopeful of the decisions pb would make. That obviously didn't end the way I thought but I'm glad they still kept this series good.
Tbh book 3 felt rushed and full of too many stories they wanted to tell but I did still love it, yeah there's things I'd change but also there were a lot of parts I loved.
I don't think I'll keep choices installed, especially w all the AI bullshit. And if this is actually one of the last times I post, it was nice to have a space (even for a short time) to hang out and be a fucking dweeb about this visual novel
Realizing I didn't at all really talk about book 3...
It was an incredibly cool concept. When we've already saved the world twice where tf could we even go with a 3rd book? I do genuinely think pb went in the right direction with going to the after life. We got to actually explore different cultures and practices in this book while still keeping the intrigue up.
I do still think it was rushed though, the focus was on the old gods and they were purely in elhalas. And we only got to be in the hells for like a chapter and a half because the big fight w nifara needed to happen and it would've been so cool to see more of it like we did w the shadow realm in book 2.
And speaking if the nifara fight that was way too anticlimactic for everything this book was building to, I think if they had started setting up getting godly allies earlier it would've felt more rewarding. But because we had to get through the plot there wasn't much time for romance or even exploring the other li's views on their afterlives. Yeah we got a few sentences but it all felt flat and like they were trying to put in their opinions while also getting us to the end.
I do genuinely enjoy this book, knowing that everyone's afterlife is true and connected is a cool fantasy story telling moment. But in the end it felt like none of that mattered because it was all leading to stopping nifara. There was no real flaws outside of elhalas which meant we were just seeing the other worlds because it was cool that they were there and they needed filler shit. In the other books we weren't going to different parts of the world because we needed to go through them, each one had something that we needed to get, and book 3 just didn't have that.
I dont want to ramble too long especially because I said that that post might be my last, but as much as I loved bolas 3 I wish there was a better "plot" to it, I wish we actually got more in depth with it and I especially hate that they made the decision of going back to the world above feel like it was bigger than fighting the fucking queen of the elder gods.
Some praises for it though to make this post not seem all nitpicky; loved the anxiety and pressure on mc, finally seeing the effects of being a leader of this world saving group was nice; I liked the addition of the li's loved ones, it gave a sense of closure and allowed for allies that we didn't necessarily have to work for; and the aurinae betrayal was a nice touch, especially with aerins history, and as much as I hate him it was nice to have an anchor point for where he came from while simultaneously being a point he could go from

BLADES OF LIGHT AND SHADOW!!!
Ik it's because there's multiple li's and they can't script that far, but tyril seriously the only thing you're gonna say to me after not seeing each other for a while is "it's good to see you"??
Normally I let the person directly affected decide what to do with their parent, but aurinae you are going to die by my hand
It kinda pmo that the final conflict of book 3 is whether we come back to life or not???
Don't make it seem like I want to go back to the world above to save it, I want to see Kade again and watch him get married!
It's actually so funny how each person gives you a compliment when you get a new outfit
If there is no romance scene this chapter...
It wouldn't make sense (and it's def not gonna happen) but I've been hoping to see mc's parents in elhalas, especially because I chose elf
Wild concept but what if Valax isn't a construct and actually a child of Vali and Nifara?
When the group sees Nifara for the first time.
Which at first after realizing that Vali and Nifara are exes I just assumed Vali created Valax while thinking of Nifara and that's why Valax looks like Nifara but in the last chapter Vali says this to Valax
What was Vali going to say before she changed it to saying Nifara's name? Your other parent?? Your sire??
Is Nifara, Valax's father?????
