Don't melt don't fold don't run don't get caught now/ everybody special but they not now/ I be maniac Magee with the knot now
Don't take my life and trade a dream for it/ don't chase nothin I can't be towards. The power of words is incredible. I always try and be mindful of that when I'm writing rap songs. Such a brilliant medium for relating to the world around me.
Penultimate page here. Thuggin for it.
We gon ride till the road is on fire/ we gon burn till we ain't afraid to die/ and then whip the chain we ghost ride
"Be about what I talk what I talk for/ move through walls like I just beat parcour". I got 4 more pages till I'm done. This album started in July 2013. I've been making art since 1999. Never worked this long on anything before. Feels good.
Perfection is usually about the little shit. When it's fast I still appreciate it though. When I'm working and I get the chance to change a mistake without having to redo hours of work, or spend hours developing a new direction that accounts for the error and works it into a different final product, I appreciate it.
Pretty hype on this dhalsim arm. Not sure if people care about lyrics still? Not sure about people.
Chorus on the left. Verse on the right. At first doing this illustrated comic book style idea seemed fun. Then I got more than 10 hours in and realized it was a lot of work. Now I'm realizing how great it is. It's a way for me to show what goes into my music. My lyrics are meant to be deciphered and interpreted. Having everything written out makes it easier for the listener. But this is also a way for me to distinguish myself. I don't rap cause it's an easy way to get attention. I rap cause it's the most fulfilling use of my creative drive and my spirit. Shoutout all the artists making art.
All align in the time we die. Gettin closer every day. Can't wait to finish this zine and get this album out.
All white ghost that haunted coke. New leprechaun pot of all white gold. Growing up in South Florida was a lot like growing up in the today's popular rap myths. And since a lot of my dad's clients were smugglers, dealers, assassins, and mob folks I got a pretty special perspective on the narcotics industry. All kinds of tales in this lyric book if you look for them. Can't wait to share it.
Who that creepin by my window? I don't know cause I don't look no more.
Strongman at circus circus pull a tough card. Just tryin to keep my head down and get this lyric zine done. First I write the raps and make the words do craZy signifying shit. Then take the lyrics and pump em up with more signification in the illustrations. Having fun seeing how much of my different skills I can put together in one work of art.
It's all about the layers. And I feel like this is accurate album artwork for the music I make. Lucky to always have @muneca_de_trapo in my ear pushing me.
You look at album art for a few seconds. But you spend a lot of time listening to the music that the art represents. The art isn't an objective representation of the music though, so it's a strange game of inaccurate signification. I played this one as best I could. I shot this photo in Weston, Florida. #errlirl coming soon.
Emu emulator. Prints--of this and all the other gear I've been drawing--available on @twinbeastla. Or dm me for PayPal. 13" x 19". $35 shipped.
