UK has been to Asakusa lately but hasn’t yet revealed why. He will be going live today at 22:30 JST to share with us what he was up to.

2025.07 latest Insta live updates

UK went back to Korea to visit his family and prepare for his upcoming lives. While being there, he is working hard on dance training, stretching, working out. He also is studying English and French in preparation for his appearance in France during October. If I understood well, his parents and other family members plan on joining him on his trip to France to attend his lives. Which makes him nervous.

He attended to the wedding of his former dance teacher (ex Apeace), went to Psy’s concert with his childhood friend. He also visited ex Apeace member Hoyong’s recently opened restaurant. It is located in Yeonnam dong, Seoul. It is called Terada (테라다식당).

He talked about it in his most recent food suggestions video.

UK live announcement

On October 18 and 19 2025, UK will perform during the Weekend Dance & Co festival in Salon de Provence, France. This opportunity was made possible thanks to his participation to Japan Expo Sud in February 2025, which took place in Marseille.

The ticket sale date is yet to be announced by the festival.

The song Kimi to boku no season means You & I's season. It's a love song he created with the thought of his parents' love for each other and their solid marriage. During an Instagram live before the official release of his 2nd mini album, he confided that he hoped to belike his dad someday and have a beautiful family of his own. This song was also created with the hope that it could be played during wedding ceremonies.

His dad loves history and wrote a book about it. Similarily to his father, he wants to write a book but he would like to talk about his experience as an artist and the challenges he faced.

His mom is a true beauty ever since she was young !

Everyone in his family is a good singer at karaoke. Out of all his siblings, he thinks he's the worst at it though he's an artist. His eldest sister has more of a deep and strong voice style while the other two have a lighter vibe.

While being with his parents when he went back to Korea, he had a discussion about parenthood and the sacrifices it took. He is impressed by how his parents raised them and at the moment he thought that he didn't have what it takes to be a good father. However, he wants to be one and looks at his father as a model. He said that to be a good father he had first to be a good person in general.

Though he still had the desire to go to college to improve his writing skills, he wanted to focus on his career and the opportunities he could get. He thinks if he gives his all in Japan and finds good opportunities, then it would be a good start to expand as an artist and reach a broader audience.

He likes watching dramas and feels inspired by fellow Korean actors. He mentioned Park Jeong Min among others. He watched the season 2 of Gyeongseong creature and Hellbound.

He recently got into contact with his second oldest sister who is currently studying in college. He talked with her about his wish of going to college to improve his Japanese and English. His goal is to improve his writing skills for lyrics. During a recent TikTok live, I asked him what he wanted to study and he replied that he wanted to study French as well. He added he wants to travel to France. He mentioned going to Paris and also wanting to go to Marseille.

Sol (former Skarf member) is his 3rd oldest sister

The fandom name has officially been decided ! From now on, UK fans are called UinK. The meaning bhind that his that fans are always in his heart, hence the "in" at the heart of UK. Also it makes a cute word play with "wink".

About DARA, he said it's an addictive song written in Japanese, compared to OVER KILLED which is entirely in English. He explained the meaning of this song during a TikTok live. "No matter if I have to go through hell to be with you, I will go because I love you so much. So please entrust your heart to me. You can trust me with your eyes closed." It's the message that the narrator is trying to convey.

His father worked in the military when he was a kid so being a soldier’s son he thought that he had no choice but to do well during his military service.

He said that he’s been living in Japan for about 10 years now to follow his dream of becoming an artist. (2024.08.14 Insta live)

His three sisters were always very kind to him and never really got angry at him. I believe he said that the eldest was the strongest in his opinion. (08.14 Insta live)

He is currently studying travel English using a Korean book. I tried to find the book’s title on the Internet but I didn’t find it.Lately he likes the calming scent of forests/woods.

He said that he wears perfume and the brand he wears has a woody/earthy fragrance.

During the release event held on August 14 he saw a fan crying as he was singing his song Daijobu. He said it touched him, especially considering this song is based on his own experience.

He said that he is now an INFP and that his MBTI profile recently changed. When he did the test for the first time he got ENFP. Which means he got more introverted with time. He said that his MBTI tends to go back and forth between Introverted and Extroverted, he said it’s 50/50.

When he was a kid, his father told him that seeing him eating made his stomach full. Hearing those words, he ate a lot of the Jajangmyeon his mother had cooked.

In the past he went on a diet and for about two months, he only ate salad and chicken breast because he thought it would help him gain more muscle mass and get bigger. But lately he tries to eat various food and have a more balanced diet.

One of his favorite actors is Park Seo Joon, who recently played a role in The Marvels movie. He also plays Park Saeroi in Itaewon Class.

He mentioned in a live that upon meeting a Japanese professional boxer, he thought about making a song that conveyed the feeling of being ready to fight and face anything that came one’s way. UK made his debut in 2010 in Japan under the label Xing Entertainment within the boy group A-peace. At first, the group was named Double B 21 and supposed to regroup 21 idols! But it was renamed before it’s official debut as some members left.  A-peace consisted of 3 sub units of 5 members : Lapis5, Jade5 and Onix5.  He was then apart of Lapis5 with Wan Cheol, Si Hyuk, and other members that left the group. UK was main dancer and lead vocalist while being the youngest member of the group!  A-peace ceased activities in 2021, mainly due to the impact of the pandemic and because many members left for various reasons.

He covered So Sick from Ne-Yo several years ago. The video can be found on YouTube. However I don’t know when or why this cover was made.

In his insta live on 08.11, he said he liked Rock music and recently he listened to a lot of ballads.

He enjoys doing Jpop covers. He likes nandemoiya a lot. He also likes First love. 

He makes sure he runs a lot every morning and stretches before every live. When he goes back home he always works out. After that he studies Japanese and English. 

He has no pet.

He is happy that people sing along to his song Red sun during concerts even though they may be shy and embarrassed to do so.

Lately he has been receiving many messages saying that his singing or dancing got better which made him very happy.

When a fan said that they were a bit hesitant to shout his name during concerts, he said his fans shouts made him happy and gave him the courage to give his all when his on stage. He said whatever you may shout will make me happy.

He wants to come back to Japan Expo if he gets the chance.

He lived in Seoul, Gyeongido as a child but he was born in another city in South Korea (in Gyeongsangdo if I understood correctly).

Someone asked him what he liked to focus on during work out sessions. He said that he wanted to work a lot on his back and shoulders because he feels like it would look manly and that’s what he’s going for. When he is doing squats he lifts between 80 to 90kg.

When it comes to running, he runs between 3 to 5 kilometers each day.
