Artorias wants him to grow his hair out. Ornstein refuses. Just because the noodle knight can stuff his locks beneath his hood doesn’t mean the same can be done for a golden helm.

Artorias has seen men and women with tattoos. He’s interested in getting one himself, though what it will be, where it will be, and if he can get away with it without Ornstein throwing a fit, are unknown to him.

Ornstein is the most heavily dinged of the Four due to his propensity for hunting dangerous beasts. Armor can only do so much against things with enormous claws, poisonous stingers, and fire breath, after all.
The most notable of his scars are twin lines of regularly spaced tissue that run from his left arm across his torso to his right hip. These were given to him by one of the everlasting dragons. Though healed over for centuries, they’re darker than the rest of his skin. He wears them like a badge of honor, as proof of his courage and prowess.

He smiled. "I had that thoughts many time myself. But I am quite real. At least, I believe I am."
There are two courses of action he can take. One: yell for Ornstein to cease and desist making him look the complete fool, or two: acknowledge a disembodied head is, in fact, chatting with him.
Artorias opts for the second. His brother-in-arms is having a rough day already. Hence the pastries.
“Ah,” he says, placing Vengarl down, “Mine sincerest apologies for thy predicament.”
The Forossan blinks up at the man. "... why have you taken me from my perch?"
By the Lords. As Artorias lifts Vengarl higher, making sure that there aren’t any catalysts hidden in his neck stump, channeling voices from beyond, he says, “I am not entirely sure I am not dreaming.”
He couldn't recall but one person asking him that. "Do not worry," he assured, tone light. "I am comfortable enough. I've had ample time to become accustomed to it."
Artorias starts to speak and hesitates. This isn’t right. This isn’t real. Couldn’t be. Without further ado, he gently scoops up Vengarl.
No. All that you may see with your eyes is all I am.
“Ah.”
Artorias takes a second to compose himself. He’s seen stranger things. Dragons, death gods, Ornstein pack away a dozen pastries in one sitting, those sorts of things.
“Art thou in pain?”
