This week is a little more laid back than usual, but the events we do have are going to be great craic altogether! Tonight, Tuesday the 18th, we are hosting an evening which involves brainstorming and bringing ideas to fruition for our work for the United Nations’ Free and Equal campaign. This is an opportunity to make a real change, so head down to Newman A106 at 5:30pm until 8pm for a night of innovation, ideas, and the possibility to change the world.
Our Wednesday event is in collaboration with all the glitz and glamour of DramSoc. We are going to be hosting a Drag Show at the Dramsoc Theatre, and it’s going to be nothing less than fabulous. This is a BYOB event, so we can promise it’ll be a stellar evening.
On Thursday, it’s back to basics with one of our much loved coffee mornings! Pop down to the Quad Room for your free fill of coffee, tea and biscuits.
That’s all for this week folks! ‘Til next week!

Good morning folks! Here are this week’s events!
Events for this week are officially up! Check out our information page for details!
Freshers’ Week Events
It’s Freshers’ Week! Aka an opportunity for you to become official members of our society and get closely acquainted with the work we have done and our plans for this year. Tonight is especially exciting for two reasons.
For starters, we are collaborating with the L&H society to welcome renowned LGBTQ+ rights activist Peter Tatchell to the Fitzgerald Chamber in the New Student Centre at 4pm-6pm. This event will focus on the work he has done for the community and what we can learn as activists.
Additionally, tonight is the official launch of our involvement with the United Nations Free & Equal campaign. This will focus on how we can affect global change through our work this year, and how you can get involved. Let’s make history!
Coffee morning collab with QSoc! We don't discriminate against anyone in the society, not even Trinity! #breakingstereotypes
Welcome Week has kicked off! If you didn’t get a chance to drop by our coffee morning, don’t worry, you have lots to choose from this week!
Tomorrow’s the big day!
Kick off for Orientation Week is right around the corner! Our first event of the semester begins with a Fresher’s Welcome Afternoon tomorrow at 2pm in rooms 5/6/7 upstairs in the New Student Centre.
Check our information tab for further information regarding events and check back here for updates!
Check out the orientation week events timetable! We’ve over 28 hours of events, so there’s no excuse not to drop in and say hi!
Dear all,
Today the community has been shaken following the tragic mass shooting in Orlando, Florida at Pulse LGBTQ+ nightclub.
We're deeply distressed by this news. This month is LGBTQ+ Pride month and no member of our community should live in fear of celebrating their identity in a space dedicated for them.
UCD LGBTQ+ and its members would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the friends and families of the victims, and we extend our support systems to members who have been affected by this news.
If you need someone to talk to about this issue, please contact us and we will refer you to the appropriate agent.

Here is our official teaser for Pride 2016 with UCD LGBTQ+!
We’ll keep you posted on any updates to come
Hey guys!
Those of you who have stuck with us during our little hiatus will have noticed we are back in action! We have a new committee for the academic year 2016/17 and are raring to kick the year off as best we can. Just a few points for the coming year.
We are checking messages daily! In the past, we have been slow to reply to asks/instant messages on here, but with overall improvements being put in place to the current public relations model, we will be getting back to any messages or queries you send our way. You can drop us an ask here.
If you’re curious to see what events we have in store each week, you can check out the banner on our information page, which will be updated every Sunday evening GMT.
We’re going to Dublin Pride! On June 25th, UCDLGBTQ+ will be proudly marching in the Dublin Pride Parade. Get in touch with us through any of our social media if you’re interesting in marching with the society or if you would like information on our involvement in the parade. It’s gonna be fantastic!
There will be a focus on our Twitter, Tumblr and Snapchat accounts. We are aware of the huge numbers in these communities who may be interested in the society, so we are striving to make the society more accessible through these platforms. You can find all of our contact information right here!
That’s all for now! It’s gonna be a fantastic year for new, existing and prospective members.
