Origin: The name (Pányika) was first mentioned in the Döbrentey-kódex in 1508. Probably once it was a widely grown variety in the Carpathian Basin. In the 19th century it was most common in Transylvania.

Matures: October

Consumption: November-March

Fruit: Medium. Oblate. Skin greenish-yellow ripening to gold, waxy. Flush rare, sometimes a slight patch of diffuse orange. Stem cavity narrow and deep. Ovary open, in the compartments few, mostly undeveloped seeds. Flesh woolly, sweet and astringent, aromatic, rich muscat flavoured, cream coloured. Keeps well until March.

Tree: Vigorous and spreading, rare foliage. It is slow to settle into cropping, but crops well under favorable conditions. It does not tolerate drought. It prefers elevated hilly regions with damp soil. Does not tolerate pruning. It is susceptible to fungal diseases.

Cider: Excellent full bodied

It tells the story of Asif, who severed ties with his former best friend, Mudasir, for reasons yet unknown. Despite the tragic, word art-annotated tale of love lost, there remains a light at the end of the tunnel—his new best friend, Salman.
