Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in New Mexico
August 3rd, 2012 - Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in New Mexico
July 31st, 2012 - Sedona, AZ
We arrived in Sedona and instantly met a very interesting man at the visitors center who said he moved there to help with his constant pain after being hit by a truck as a child. He went on to tell us some of the vortex hot spots to check out. We explored the Chapel of the Holy Cross a Roman Catholic chapel built into the red rocks. Then we went to the vortex near the airport to explore and feel the vibes. We ate lunch at Simon’s Hot Dogs which is home of the some of the best dogs I've ever had in my life (unfortunately I've heard they relocated to Scottsdale) as we were enjoying our meal and Mighty High Chai it began to storm we ended up cutting our stay short and drove to Flagstaff to evade the weather.
Tucson, AZ / July 2012
July 28th- 30, 2012 - Tucson, AZ
Spent a few days hanging in Tucson with our friend Nate from back home who now lives in Tucson with his dog Ladybird. On our first day Nate took us on a hike up to Mt. Lemmon when it started to storm we went up to a fire lookout station and the fire watchman David and his dog (son) Gus let us in and made us coffee to wait out the rain. It was amazing talking to him and hearing his stories he said he had spotted 6 fires this year and that he had been doing the job for the past 3 summers after he was injured being a fireman. It was really cold on the mountain especially after we got wet but after drying off and drinking some hot coffee we said goodbye to Dave and Gus and took the short hike back to the car then we went to watch the sunset. We ended the night with some backyard hangs at Nate’s with Ladybird and his chickens. Spent the rest of our time exploring Tucson and ended our visit with a Kush Burger at Lindy’s!
July 25th - 27th, 2012 - Los Angelas, CA

July 22nd, 2012 - Grand Tetons Jenny Lake
We packed up camp and said goodbye to the Tetons by canoeing around Jenny Lake. Then began driving towards Las Vegas.
July 21st, 2012 - Grand Tetons Inspiration Point
Spent the whole day hiking around Jenny Lake and up to Inspiration Point. We took our time as we hiked around the lake for about 3 miles then we arrived to the Hidden Falls trail. The hike to the falls was fairly easy we stopped and enjoyed the falls for a bit and then continued up to Inspiration Point. The hike was pretty strenuous but short and totally worth the view. Alycia and I rested and took it all in before hiking down and catching the ferry back a crossed the lake. We met back up with Jared and Ciara at an awesome spot near camp next to the lake where we swam and watched the sun set.
July 20th, 2012 - Grand Tetons
We packed up our camp and began the drive down to Grand Tetons and arrived just in time to snag the last site at the Jenny Lake Campground. We set up camp and then decided to head out and get a quick hike in. After being distracted by moose and getting lost a few times we finally made it the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve (a refuge within Grand Tetons National Park) where we began our hike to Phelps Lake. The hike was very easy and peaceful, and the trail very well maintained. We spotted a bear and her two cubs along the way. Once we arrived to the lake it was almost too perfect crystal clear water with a beautiful mountain range on the other side. We swam and bathed in the ice cold water until the sun began to set. We hiked back to the car and headed into Jackson for a bite to eat. Jackson is a small tourist town so most places were pricey or closed but we managed to find a nice little pizza bar called Pinky G's. We hung around downtown Jackson for a while and then headed back to camp.

July 19th, 2012 - Yellowstone
I awoke to a warm tent and a full bladder we had successfully slept in. After eating some oatmeal we packed our bags for the day and headed off to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone to check out Artist Point. The waterfall was beautiful but a little crowded so we decided to head out on a short backcountry hike to Lilly Pad Lake. After making a burrito stop we hiked down to Yellowstone river to relax and swim for a while. We continued north to Lamar Valley where we spotted a bear and her two cubs and watched the sunset from the top of Mt. Washburn. Then topped the night off with a warm fire and dinner at the camp site.
