but she never stays. never lets herself. i think deep down she wants tally to move on to someone who is not the first one to come running when the world is yet again on fire. the mission always comes first, even if both of them hate it. that‘s how it has to be.
but this time… this time is different. this time, tally’s life is at stake. and alder can‘t have that. she will risk anything for her missions, even her own happieness, but not. that. just the sheer panic on her face and the way she screams her name! we rarely see her lose her composure like this. she risks the outcome of the mission, by cutting tally free. she risks never getting this piece of the song, with which the mission would undoubtedly fail. she tells tally: "we need to get you out of here". she chooses her over the fate of the world
