30 days and 30 posts. The decision to post every day this month required me to find one thing worth sharing every single day. The hope was that through this simple act I would actively try to make my days more meaningful. It's become very clear to me this month that I love to create. Music, design, film, tea or whatever. I'm not sure it matters. I love to create. When I'm not creating, I feel my days pass by without me realising. It's easy for our days to become a mindless routine. We do a pretty good job of reflecting at the end of the year, but what if we spent more time reflecting? Instead of trying to figure out how to make the next year more meaningful, maybe we should focus on our next day. We'll it's late and I'm definitely too sleepy to be posting. But that's my two cents (or pennies).

Let me introduce you to Emma Blackwood... Emma is the reason why the artwork to "Close your eyes and listen" looks so cool. After frequently visiting Alastair's (the music wizard, remember?) house to record, I started to notice the house was full of paintings, even a few semi-naked ones of Alastair. I thought, ey-up, who's been painting Alastair in the niff? Turns out, he only went and married a super talented artist. Long story short, I loved her work and I asked her if she fancied painting the artwork for my EP. She (excitedly) said yes. Emma is just another part of what it takes to release music. So. I've had a chat with my manager (me) and he says I'm doing a terrible job promoting my new EP. So armed with 5 coloured pens, I have come up with 5 promo ideas. This EP took me and @elirosca well over 6 months to make and we're incredibly proud of it. So forgive me if this is crazy... I'm not going to stop until everyone I know and meet hears it. Last night I announced my final EP. "Close your eyes and listen" 6 songs written on my ukulele, usually very late at night. They're essentially a series of lullabies, hence the title, these are songs best listened to while you're lying in bed. "w-w-wait, final EP eh?" Yep. After 5 years of performing as Jake West, this will be my last release. Very soon I will explain properly why this is, but believe me, this is only to enable my next journey, which is a very exciting one. Please know, your unwavering support for my music over this time has not gone unnoticed. I'm eternally grateful for all the love and encouragement I have received over the years. And so, yes.
