Filantous

With 8 elements out of the way, that only leaves light left. This guy is known as Filantous, who can unlocked by the use of a Filantous Signet (as always, sold in the Cash Shop for 250 CSC).

Although this electricity wielding titan is classified under the "very hard" category, he is probably more of an "extremely hard" challenger, and best suited for pets who are at least tier 8. Stealing is disabled against this challenger. His stats are as follows:

Health: 5,750 Attack: 2,500 Defense: 2,000 Speed: 1,575 EXP: 1,400

Heck, not only is he actually a tier 8 challenger, but his stats are similar to those of Fruit Salad (a well-established tier 8 difficulty challenger). His weaponry is as follows (note that all attacks activate the Shine On blessing; which blocks 15 dark/light, heals 100 HP, and prevents freezing):

Incandescence: 35 light Heals 300 HP

Lights Out: 20-25 dark, 5 or 15 light Blocks 15 physical/dark/light

Electric Slide: 8-12 physical, 17-24 light

Short Fuse: 7-10 light, 5 magma, 5 physical, 17-19 fire Boosts attack by 100

While light is clearly his biggest icon type, dark physical and fire also appear in notable amounts. His defenses mostly revolve around dark and light as well. Out of all of his weapons, perhaps his biggest threat would be the Incandescence as it can easily overpower tier 8 light defenses while also allowing him to heal as much as 700 HP in a single turn (incandescence x2+blessing). Short Fuse's boost of 100 attack will make you not want to stall out for too long. Electric Slide is probably the least of your worries as it doesn't hit as hard as his other weapons while also not having any secondary effects outside of the blessing.

Since all of his weapons activate Shine On, you will want to freeze him first turn. From there, you may want to blast his weapons to give you a little more breathing room between his attacks. For your main weapon, you will want to use something that blocks a large amount of light such as Large Gutting Knife, Hydragellos Lost Tooth, or Mirroring Shield of Brilliance. Something that blocks a lot of dark or physical can be used instead, although you will want to make sure you blast Incandescences if you wish to go through with that. Sancturia Exodin scrolls will likely be the most helpful as your backup scrolls. For potions, light/darkness/death/fire/life shards will be the most helpful in blocking out his attacks. Reverberating Pylonic can help block out a small bit of his light while also possibly getting some dark damage through against him. Negating Pylonic can help in cases of emergencies.

Upon defeat, Filantous will drop some sP but no items, except for in the special loot, which is as follows:

Scattered Filantous Pieces Comet Flash

The scattered pieces are a wearable while Comet Flash is an infinite use tier 7 weapon with two mod slots whose effects scale based on defense. The effects are as follows:

0-1599 Defense (Default Stats): 7-8 physical, 14-18 light Blocks 15 dark

1600-1999(?) Defense: 10-13 physical, 15-22 light Blocks 20 dark

2000-2499(?) Defense: 13-18 physical, 18-24 light Blocks 25 dark

2500+(?) Defense: 13-18 physical 18-25 light or 15-20 physical 20-27 light Blocks 30 or 35 dark Heals 4% or 8%

This weapon might make a decent budget option for those with 2500+ defense, giving you a possible edge against Malerias Familiar. Before then, the amount of defense and lack of heal in addition to a somewhat unimpressive attack make this a mediocre weapon.

Bandit

Cursed Effigy has been the lone Fireside seasonal challenger for so long that he was starting to feel lonely. Thankfully for him, a Jollin kleptomaniac was willing to be his friend. This challenger can be unlocked by attempting to throw an item into the bonfire only to have a Jollin steal it away (it may take a few attempts before you unlock him).

Strangely enough, I actually thought this was a pet spotlight winner when I first saw the news post. Anyway, this thief is classified as a “hard” challenger and is suited for pets who are at least tier 4. Here are his stats:

Health: 1,350 Attack: 650 Defense: 500 Speed: 1,300 EXP: 900

His health is kind of high for tier 4 standards. His speed is, in fact, very high to the point where critical hits will be difficult to land on him. Blessings and freezing are disabled against this challenger. Here are his weapons (all of which have a moderate-high chance of stealing):

Pinch: 3-4 physical, 3 fire, 6 light

Pilfer: 3-8 magma, 3 physical, 4 fire

Plunder: 5 fire, 2-4 dark

Poach: 8 magma, 4-5 physical

Purloin: 3-5 physical, 2 fire, 2-4 wind

This challenger is the biggest thief of any yet. He has a high likelihood of stealing your weapons on any given turn, and can even steal two in a turn if you are unlucky. The fact that blessings are disabled even makes him worse than our previous stealing champion, Lady of the West Winds from the Saheric plot. Thankfully though, his weapons are quite weak. Not only do they do as many icons as your average high tier 2/low tier 3 challenger, but he doesn’t have any defenses at all.

Due to Bandit’s thieving tendencies, it may take several tries to beat him. Since stealing randomly picks a weapon to be taken, there is a huge luck factor to beating this guy. To maximize your odds of success, you will want to focus largely on offense to kill him as quickly as possible. Since he may take one of your main attacking weapons, you will want at least three infinite use weapons. You can even give him a possibility of making his stealing worthless if you equip a few very weak weapons such as Slots Spork or Macechucks in your set. That way, not only will you preserve your main weapons, but you will also give him the chance to use a weapon that is weaker than his others (and even reduce his chances of further stealing a little bit). Dark elemental potions can be used if you need an extra lift. Having a scroll set designed around offense and healing also helps.

Upon defeat, Bandit will drop a bit of sP as well as one of the following items:

Beige Topsy Turvy Red Rreign Figurine Black Bewildered Red Rreign Plushie Beige Squishy Red Rreign Beanbag Thief Baguette Crystal Thief Tear Crystal

The thief crystals are the rarest items, but it seems like he may have stolen a few of last year’s burnables while no one was looking as well.

The satchel is a wearable while the pick set does nothing practical. This does work if you want thievery related TC items though.

Black Friday Sale Reminder

Tortyrant

I know this guide is super late, but I would like to get Tortyrant out of the way. This guy was June's titan, who was unlocked by the use of a Tortyrant Signet, which sold in the Cash Shop for 250 CSC.

Tortyrant is an "extremely hard" challenger and is suited for pets who are at least tier 9/10. Stealing is disabled against this challenger. His stats are as follows:

Health: 8,000 Attack: 3,500 Defense: 800 Speed: 2,100 EXP: 2,000

For the most part, his stats are pretty standard for a tier 9 challenger. His defense is quite low though, so critical hits shouldn't be too hard to score on him. His weaponry is as follows:

Downdraft: 15-22 wind, 6-12 water Blocks 25 wind Heals 222

Spin Cycle: 5 or 8 or 11 physical, 11-33 wind Blocks 50 wind

Raise Hail: 15-25 or 29 ice, 11 wind, 9 water Blocks 25 wind Moderate chance of freezing

Rage Spiral: 15-45 wind Blocks 50 wind May activate Flying Cow curse (7 icons; 2 rounds)

The biggest icon types here are wind, ice, and water. The biggest problem you will run into will probably be Raise Hail, which is his only weapon who focuses mainly on an ice icons rather than wind icons. In addition, it has a chance of freezing you. Rage Spiral can hurt quite a bit if you lack a wind block too. Spin Cycle and Downdraft are not as much of threats (in fact, wind icons are easy enough to avoid dealing out so that you can easily bypass that 222 HP heal on Downdraft). Regardless of whether or not you have any good wind defense, Raise Hail is probably the best overall blast.

Having weapons that block out wind such as Blessed Trident of the Banished One or Oracles Short Sword is very helpful for defeating this challenger. Using Ice King Gloves to lessen the blow of Raise Hail might also not be a bad idea (though other infinite use healers can be used, especially if you plan to blast Raise Hails). However, if you lack any good wind defense, it may be a good idea to take out this challenger as quickly as you can. If you wish to accomplish that, then using any freezes you have available is a good idea. Typhoon of Valor is an OPB scroll that blocks 75 wind, so that could also help buy you a few turns. Cobalt Eternal Scrolls should be used instead if you do have wind defense. The use of Wind, Ice, Death, and Water Shards can help in a pinch and Negating Pylonic can help stop the battle from ending in a tie.

Upon defeat, Tortyrant will drop some sP but no items, except for in the special loot, which is as follows:

Featherweight Axe of Gusts Grumpy Gust Beanbag

The axe is an infinite use tier 7 weapon with two mod slots whose effects scale by speed. The effects are as follows:

0-1499 Speed (Default Stats): 30 wind Blocks 10 wind Boosts speed by 25

1500-2499 Speed: 31-34 wind, 5 physical Blocks 40 wind Heals 4% Boosts speed by 25 May activate Gust of Weightlessness curse (8 icons; 2 rounds)

2500+ Speed: 34-39 wind, 7 physical Blocks 50 wind Heals 5% Boosts speed by 25 May activate Gust of Weightlessness curse (8 icons; 2 rounds)

This weapon is not quite the best at below 1499 speed. Once you hit 1500 speed, it may make for a good lower budget wind blocker. At tier 10+ though, Blessed Trident of the Banished One largely outclasses this weapon. Swashbuckle also outclasses it for those at tier 11+. This might still help you beat wind heavy opponents you couldn't before though.

Dungarde

Considering Morostide is often associated with things that are scary and dark, it is only fitting that October's titan would be one of the dark element. This challenger is one of the harder titans, and his name is Dungarde. He can be unlocked by the use of a Dungarde Signet, sold in the Cash Shop for 250 CSC.

This creepy crawler is classified as an "impossible" challenger and is suited for pets who are at least tier 11. Like most of the other titans, stealing is disabled against him. However, he is the only titan (and one of few challengers in general) to not allow you to use scrolls. His stats are as follows:

Health: 9,500 Attack: 3,555 Defense: 3,000 Speed: 2,500 EXP: 3,450

Dungarde's stats are lower than those of most other tier 10/11 challengers, though this is probably because being unable to use scrolls is actually a significant handicap against you. Thankfully, he isn't too difficult to outspeed, with him only having 2,500 (which an evenly trained pet perfectly in the middle of tier 11 would have). His weaponry is as follows:

Disapparating Axe: 7-11 ice, 8-12 wind, 8-12 physical, 24-38 or 50 dark

Eerie Shadow: 29-44 dark Blocks 12 earth/ice/wind/magma/physical/fire/dark Boosts defense by 250 May activate Elusory Presence curse (10 icons; 3 rounds)

Sudden Chill: 11-15 wind, 18-25 dark, 14 water Blocks 50 dark Heals 500 HP

Piercing Eye: 7-10 dark, 6-13 water, 26-27 ice Very high chance of freezing

Dungarde's weapons obviously center around dark icons. His secondary icon types are ice, wind, and water. Disapparating Axe is his overall hardest hitting weapon, dealing a large amount of dark damage in addition to a mild amount each of three other icon types. Eerie Shadow blocks out a large chunk of most icon types. However, it does not block light and water. Sudden Chill has an especially large block on dark and even heals him for 500 HP (which can be annoying if you are relying on Chancellors War Shield to defend against dark). Piercing Eye not only freezes, but it does the most non-dark damage of any of his weapons. The eye is an ideal blast if you have an effective dark blocker. If not, then Disapparating Axe is probably the best blast.

Since scrolls are disabled, there is a greater emphasis put onto your weapons and potions. You will want to have a weapon that can block a large amount of dark, such as Gelatin Slayer, Chancellors War Shield, or Maniacal Essence. Your second weapon should be something that can protect you against his stray icon types while also healing you. Items such as Paintbrush Blades, Unstable Sample Syringe, Swashbuckle, or possibly even Extendable Elemental Trident are good options. To start off the battle, you might want to use a freezing item on him to gain a turn advantage or to cancel out a freeze of his own. During the time he is frozen, you will want to either blast his weapons or hit him as hard as you can while he is helpless. During the battle, you will be relying a lot on your main two weapons. However, potions are an especially big help against this guy. Dark Water/Light/Life Potions can help to give you some extra damage. Salvonic Pylonic, Vial of Dark Water, Acidic Throwing Vial, Destabilizing Throwing Vial, or Allure Potion can be used for a one-time shot at increased damage. Glaciating Pylonic and/or Mercurial Throwing Vial can be helpful for getting more freezes in on him. Revivifying Pylonic, Life Shard, and Necrotic Throwing Vial can be helpful for getting in a few pinch heals. Potion of Life is expensive, but that 1000 HP heal is quite a bit. Mage Shards can be used for extra defense when you need to heal up with Phoenix Quill or Reviver of the Lion. Negating Pylonic can help give you complete protection when you need it.

Upon defeat, Dungarde will drop some sP but no items, except for in the special loot, which is as follows:

Dungarde Axe Guardian Eye

The eye is a wearable for your forehead that looks similar to Dungarde's one eye. The axe is an infinite use tier 8 weapon with 2 mod slots whose effects seem to scale by your pet's tierk. The effects are as follows:

Tiers 8 and 9 (Default Stats): 30-40 dark Blocks 10 light

Tier 10: 32 dark, 2 physical Blocks 12 light

Tier 11: 34 dark, 3 physical, 2 ice Blocks 15 light, 5 dark

Tiers 12 and 13: 36 dark, 4 physical, 3 ice Blocks 18 light, 7 dark, 4 fire

I can't exactly say this weapon is really that good in any tier. 10-18 light defense isn't exactly a whole lot in any of the tiers this weapon can be used in, and the lack of a heal only makes this worse. It also doesn't help that dark is one of the more commonly blocked icon types of challengers in tiers 8-11, and the fact that this only has two mod slots makes this even less viable for offense. You would really be better off with items such as Hydragellos Lost Tooth, Large Gutting Knife, or Paintbrush Blades.

The main things to keep in mind are that anti-freeze blessings such as parched or blessing of natural armor are a must and that his arsenal of nasty surprises means you may want to kill him as quickly as possible.

New Morostide Challenger: Eager Dentist

Though having cavities drilled in might be painful, a trip to the dentist is definitely not something you should be scared of. That is, unless the dentist is today's featured challenger. Fear not, for 4 out of 5 dentists agree that this guide will help you beat this tooth thief.

Sure he may not be a run-of-the-mill Halloween monster like the other Morostide challengers are, but a dentist who is very bad at his job is just as scary, right? Although he is classified as a "very hard" challenger, he is actually closer to Wolve in difficulty than he is to Carrion Lord. In fact, I'd say he competes with Cursed Effigy (coming next holiday) for being the easiest challenger of the category and is suited for pets who are at least high tier 5/tier 6. Here are his stats:

Health: 1,450 Attack: 950 Defense: 600 Speed: 950 EXP: 1,200

This might just set a record for lowest stats for a challenger under the "very hard" difficulty category. In fact, that is a large part of the reason for why he is easier than Carrion Lord. Challengers with this low of stats usually have some sort of gimmick up their sleeve (ex: OP weapons, healing disabled, scrolls disabled, etc), but strangely enough, this guy has all features enabled. Here are his surprisingly reasonable weapons:

Scarly Large Needle: 10-11 physical, 3 dark, 7-9 water, 4 ice May activate Insufficient Local Anesthetic curse (5 icons; 5 rounds)

Tooth Extraction: 6 physical, 12 dark, 8-11 earth Blocks 5 light, 5 physical, 5 earth Moderate chance of freezing

Menacingly Whirring Drill: 8-10 physical, 7-8 dark Heals 50

Root Canal: 8 physical, 4 dark, 5-7 water, 2 earth Blocks 10 physical, 10 dark

This dentist's main icon types are physical and dark, though he also does some earth and water. The icon types he does the best job at blocking are physical and dark. His Tooth Extraction can freeze, so you might want some parched mods to make him less likely to freeze you (though stealing or blasting one or both Tooth Extractions can also work). Scarly Large Needle is his hardest hitting weapon though, as it can do up to 26 raw icons while also having a relatively high chance of cursing.

Even if you don't have anything that can block out his dark and physical icons, the use of infinite use healers alongside a healing scroll can help you live long enough to win. Since his health is so low, using weapons such as Malevolent Grenade or Reborn Icewand of Doom or Frozen Ocean Curl to chain freeze him can make quick work of him (I found him easy to beat 10x with a mid tier 6 using the icewand and ocean curl). Forj Tempered Shield can make it more likely to get a parched blessing up while also giving you padding against his attacks. Since he only has two copies of each weapon, blasting is effective for weakening his weapon power. Cobalt Eternal Scrolls are great for buying you some extra turns. Glaciating Pylonic is helpful for any extra freezes you may need. Dark elemental potions can help bring him down even quicker. Revivifying Pylonic and Life Shard can help give you some healing boosts. Dark, Death, Earth, and Water Shards may also be able to help you out in a pinch.

Upon defeat, Eager Dentist will drop a bit of sP as well as one of the following items:

Wait! He drops a sticker that promotes unhygenic dental practices!? Man, this guy is the worst dentist ever. Even that fifth dentist who doesn't approve of my guides agrees with that notion.

Morostide Challengers: Nightlady

If you found even Carrion Lord to be too easy for your pet, you might as well give Nightlady a try. Many battlers see defeating her as a milestone goal, so let's see what the hype is about.

We could have a Halloween-like bash without a spider, could we? I mean, after all, arachnophobia is the second most common fear in the world. She is considerably harder than Carrion Lord and is best suited for pets that are around tier 9 or 10. Here are her stats:

Health: 7,500 Attack: 3,500 Defense: 3,000 Speed: 2,300 EXP: 7,500

Her stats are about average for a tier 9/low tier 10 challenger. However, the main difficulty comes with survival due to the combination of her main attacks and strong curses. Here are her weapons:

Poison-Soaked Dagger: 5 or 10 physical, 10 or 15 dark, 5 or 15 earth, 5 water High chance of activating Blood Render curse (24 icons; 1 round) Heals 75 HP Low chance of freezing Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Itsy Bitsy Nightlady: Blocks 8 physical/dark/earth/ice/water/wind Moderate chance of activating Web of Decay curse (9 icons; ? rounds) Low chance of stealing Breakable Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Web of Destruction: 30 physical, 30 ice One Use Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Minions of the Night: Heals 10% Generates Itsy Bitsy Nightladies.

Web of Holding: 25 dark, 20 earth, 15 ice Blocks all dark Will activate Web of Decay curse (9 icons; ? rounds) 100% chance of freezing Very low chance of stealing Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against her.

Let me just say that she does not have an equal quantity of each weapon. Far from it actually. She has only one Minions of the Night and probably only about two or three Webs of Holding, but she has over 20 Poison-Soaked Daggers. With that in mind, I would not recommend blasting or stealing.

Dark, earth, and possibly physical are what you want to defend yourself against. However, it can be difficult to choose between defense and healing because her icon types are rather narrow but she does a lot of curse damage as well. With that, it may take numerous attempts to defeat her. Actually, you don't want to take too long since she not only has the potential to do some nasty attacks, but she also can freeze you or steal your weapons. It may also be wise to pay attention to how many Webs of Destruction she uses as once she runs out, you will want to focus on dark and earth blocks as her Poison-Soaked Daggers do the most of those and are also two of the icons types her Webs of Holding do.

Effective timing of Cobalt Eternal Scrolls and clutch healers is important to keep yourself alive. I did say that it will take you multiple attempts to defeat her, and that is because you might not find her too troublesome if you can get lucky enough to use strong defense and not get cursed very often (note that the Web of Decay curse can really make you less likely to win). If you have a Gelatin Slayer (or even the less effective Ultra Star Rod), it might be a good idea to use it. Replica Minotaur Knocker or Maliss Cannon can make decent lower budget options. If you are tier 10, Plague Claw might help a bit too. Ornamented Hook Swords can help a lot, but the 450M price tag isn't worth it if you just want them for this one challenger. Darkness, Earth, and Death shards can be helpful in a pinch, so make sure you have those equipped at any time you try to challenge Nightlady.

Upon defeat, she will drop a lot of sP (up to 100K) as well as the "NightLady Defeated" achievement. Since Nightlady is the hardest opponent to have an achievement that is part of the Morostide Warrior meta-achievement, you will get that achievement too as well as the "Morostide Warrior" title. You will receive three items from the following in her regular loot:

Fresh Pumpkin Spider Web Evil Spider Angelic Spider Death Mage Amulet Dark Mage Amulet Tome of Death Tome of Darkness Shriek of Despair Scroll

At this point, I am guessing you are all sick of Fresh Pumpkins? The good news though is that they are not overly dominant in her loot and the better news is that the challenger harder than her (Rouland) doesn't drop them at all! Thankfully, mage amulets are fairly common in her regular loot for a change. Not only that, but she even drops mage tomes!

The real highlight of the loot is the Shriek of Despair Scroll. This is the rarest drop of hers, meaning you may or may not get one in your 10 wins. However, it is easily her best drop (even better than the special loot listed below). This scroll is very similar to Psycho Smasher in that it is mainly used for freezing. It is OPB, but is extremely helpful (to which I name drop it in several of my tier 11+ challenger guides). Its stats are as follows:

Blocks 75 wind Damages you for 3% of your health 85% chance to freeze Takes up 15 AP OPB

This scroll is definitely worth trying past the 5th win for.

Nightlady's special loot is as follows:

Morosbane Scroll Threads of the Lady Tale of the Nightlady

The threads are a wig while Tale of the Nightlady is a book. Morosbane Scroll is not quite as nice as the Shriek of Despair Scroll mentioned above, but it is pretty nice, especially on weaker pets. This is an OPB scroll that does 40 light while healing 300 HP and taking up 15 AP. Very OP on low tier pets. It even does well on mid tier pets and can even offer a better heal than your healing scroll on pets up to 3000 HP. Above that amount and it is really more of a high damaging scroll (though still good for boss battles).

This concludes the Morostide challengers as far as guides go. This would have been made last year if only they would have been released then. Here's to hoping you all can get a bonanza of Shrieks! The good news about these challengers is that if you cannot beat them this year, then there is always next year to try them out.

Morostide Challengers: Carrion Lord

Climbing up the difficulty ranks even higher than Wolve is a worm that has dug his way from the gates of the underworld to the surface. Meet Carrion Lord!

This Satanic worm is probably the most hideous and grotesque looking Morostide challenger. He is "very hard" difficulty and is best suited for pets who are at least tier 7, but tier 6 pets may be able to beat him if they try hard enough. Here are his stats:

Health: 2,750 Attack: 2,500 Defense: 1,500 Speed: 1,600 EXP: 1,200

His stats are pretty much around those of The Hustler, though not quite the same difficulty (Carrion is easier IMO). Here are his weapons:

Carrion Lords Venom: 5-8 fire, 5-8 dark, 5-10 earth High chance of activating Parasite curse (4 icons; 3 rounds)

Evil Oath: 5 or 8 fire/dark/magma Heals 250 HP Breakable Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against him.

Paralyzing Fear: 15 dark Blocks all of every icon type 100% chance of freezing Breakable Note: Will damage you for 100% of your health if you use this against him.

Piercing Fangs: 10 fire, 15 dark, 5 or 15 magma

Sand Trap: 10 or 15 or 20 dark, 10 or 15 or 20 physical Blocks 5-8 physical, 5-8 fire

Paralyzing Fear is a pain to deal with, so you will want parched mods on your weapons so that you don't have to deal with it freezing you. Evil Oaths heal 250, but they don't do too much damage and are not as bad of a hindrance to you damaging him as the Paralyzing Fears are. The venoms aren't too much trouble to deal with. However, his Sand Traps and Piercing Fangs are his heavy hitters, with both being able to do as many as 40 icons. A strong dark defense is highly favorable against him since dark is his favorite icon type. Fire is probably the second best icon type to defend against.

If you have an Ultra Star Rod or a Chancellors War Shield, you will definitely want to use one of those. If not, then you can try focusing on his other icon types instead. Stealing and/or blasting could help you get rid of weapons your set struggles against. If you have difficulty surviving his attacks in general, then you could take advantage of his rather low health and use a weapon like Frozen Ocean Curl or Shards of Space and Time to chain freeze him to knock down his health while giving him little time to attack. Cobalt Eternal Scrolls can serve as a helpful defense once again (they sure get a lot of love from these Morostide challengers). Darkness, Fire, and Magma Shards can help in a pinch. It might not hurt to use a Death Shard either.

Upon defeat, he will drop some sP and two items from the following:

Fresh Pumpkin Can of Worms Pumpkin Parasite Death Mage Amulet Breeding Worms Dire Worm Eggs

Carrion Lord continues on the trend of dropping Fresh Pumpkins. He can drop Death Mage Amulets too, though that seems to be the rarest item in his regular loot drops. Only one victory will get you the "Carrion Lord Champion" achievement.

Carrion's special loot is as follows:

Okay, the pustules are just nasty. They give the upper left arm and lower left face of your HA some skin with a similar texture to Carrion Lord's.

With Carrion Lord done, only Nightlady remains. I will want to work more on a strategy for her before publishing it though.

Morostide Challengers: Wolve

To escalate the difficulty higher than Torchbearer, the harder of the two "hard" challengers is Wolve. This guy is where we go into the harder half of the challengers, so pay attention.

This guy is as mean as he looks. I can imagine encountering him as being like encountering some really strong and dangerous wild animal like a polar bear or a hippopotamus. Anyway, he is suited for pets who are at least tier 5 and stealing is disabled against him. Here are his stats:

Health: 950 Attack: 1,500 Defense: 100 Speed: 800 EXP: 800

There is truth in advertising with this challenger. His high attack implies that he hits hard and he does. His low defense suggests that he is not hard to damage and he isn't. He's pretty much a glass cannon challenger. Here are his weapons:

Death Rake: 10 dark, 10 earth

Gnarly Chomp: 6 physical, 7 earth, 8 light Blocks 5 dark

Wolve Pounce: 10 dark, 5 earth, 5 light, 5 wind

Howling: 5 dark, 5 earth, 10 light Very high chance of freezing

The main difficulties with this fight are survival and dealing with his freezing (though considering that he will probably kill you if he gets the freeze advantage on you, you might as well say they are one in the same). You will want to rely on strong defenses such as Cobalt Eternal scrolls, Shinwas Temple Shard, or Rainbow Vortex throughout the course of the fight. You will want to freeze him as soon as you can and hit him as hard as you can while he is frozen. Following up your initial freeze with a Glaciating Pylonic for a possible additional freeze is also a great idea. You will want to kill him as quickly as possible so that he doesn't get much of a chance to fight you after you've depleted your defensive resources. Reverberating Pylonic might be helpful to use alongside a Cobalt Eternal scroll so that you can take care of some of the light icons that poke a hole through the scroll while still dealing additional damage to him. Earth and Darkness Shards should help against him as those are his two favorite icon types. Having parched mods on your attackers can also help as getting possible freeze protection will make the fight easier. You might take some losses in getting 10 wins, but he is not overly hard to beat. He is just hard to not lose to, thanks to being a powerhouse that can freeze.

Upon defeat, he will drop some sP and two of the following items:

Fresh Pumpkin Lucky Kumos Foot Kumos Skull Faceguard Wolf Tooth Kumos Wand Earth Mage Amulet

Once again, Wolve drops Fresh Pumpkins. However, he doesn't drop as many as Torchbearer due to greater variety in the loot. The first three items are the more common drops while the last three items are the less common drops. The lucky foot and faceguard aren't too impressive. However, the wand is a r99 weapon, the tooth can be used in a few high-end spells at the Secluded Shrine, and there is even a mage amulet! Again, you may not get a single amulet within 10 wins, but they do seem to be slightly more common than those Torchbearer drops. The first win will net you the "Declawed!" achievement.

Wolve's special loot is as follows:

Wolve Mane Wolve Beanbag

The mane is a neck wearable that gives you a mane-type wreath like that of Wolve. The real loot here though would be the wolf teeth and mage amulets he drops.

Morostide Challengers: Torchbearer

If Candyscorn was still not enough of a challenge, there are two challengers in the "hard" difficulty category to fight. This guide will cover Torchbearer, who is the easier of the two.

I am not entirely sure what he is supposed to be, but let that image and challenger name give you an idea as to what icons you can expect him to favor. He is recommended for pets who are at least tier 4 and all features are enabled against him. Here are his stats:

Health: 1,000 Attack: 750 Defense: 500 Speed: 800 EXP: 450

He's surprisingly fast, but his stats aren't too much to worry about. Here are his weapons:

Deathly Stare: 4-8 dark, 4-8 ice Moderate chance of freezing

Skull Torch: 12 fire, 12 dark Blocks 5 fire, 5 water High chance of activating Singed curse (8 icons; 5 rounds)

Tail Whip: 10-17 wind Breakable

Torchbearers Deathmask: 5 fire, 5 dark, 6 wind Low chance of freezing

The fact that he can freeze means you may want some means of freeze protection. His main icon types are fire and dark, so let those be the ones to block. I find that a good way to start off the fight is to freeze him and then use your infinite use healer item alongside a Shrine of Apollonia as to make survival easier. For the main parts of the fight, you will want to use your infinite use healer alongside a weapon that can do a sufficient damage count. Tier 5+ pets can stall him out using Forj Tempered Shield to block much of his attacks, although the tier 4 Forj Tempered Vambraces could work too. Note that the shield is semi-breakable, so don't rely on it for too long. Darkness and Fire Shards can help in a pinch. Cobalt Eternal Scrolls are also not too shabby against him.

Upon defeat, he will drop a bit of sP and one of the following items:

Fresh Pumpkin Bottled Fire Fire Mage Amulet

Torchbearer is yet another challenger that drops Fresh Pumpkins. Bottled Fire is one of the more powerful tier 1 bombs. Fire Mage Amulets are not a very common drop (I have had several occasions where I didn't even get one in the first 10 wins). Defeating him the first time will get you the "Put out the Torch" achievement.

Torchbearer's special loot is as follows:

The torch is a wearable that your HA can hold. Unfortunately, it is not a weapon.

Morostide Challengers: Candyscorn

To continue with the Morostide challengers, the third one up is Candyscorn. He is the harder of the two "medium" challengers and requires somewhat more intricate strategy.

IMO, he is easily the scariest looking Morostide challenger. In fact, looking at him upside-down so that you see him right-side-up doesn't make him less scary (I find it makes him even scarier actually). He is recommended for pets who are at least tier 3 and stealing is disabled against him. Here are his stats:

Health: 440 Attack: 330 Defense: 440 Speed: 350 EXP: 450

His stats are kind of high, but he's actually easier than Mephysto at least. Here are his weapons:

Gaping Maw: 6 fire, 4 earth, 6 water Blocks 3 earth, 3 magma

Maniacal Grin: 3 fire, 3 light Blocks 2 fire/wind, 3 magma, 4 dark, 5 earth Moderate chance to freeze

Suffocating Hug: 2-3 fire, 3-5 dark, 2-3 earth Blocks all physical Heals 40 HP

Tail Twist: 4-5 fire, 4-5 earth, 2 light

He is more likely to freeze than Lingering Haunt, but it is still very much possible to have fights where he doesn't freeze you at all. When it comes to your attacks, it may not be a very good idea to use earth and/or physical icons as he is most likely to block those two attack types. Using a dual duty alongside an infinite use healer may be a good idea, especially if what you are blocking includes fire or earth icons. Regenerating and Revivifying Pylonics once again help. Shrine of Apollonia may be effective in blocking out his earth and potential dark attacks. Shrine of Porin could prove to be helpful as well, though Wokam is probably the most effective shrine if you have it. You may even want to freeze him first round with something like Icy Freezing Rod of Doom or Frozen Heart and then hit him big with a bomb and your dual duty. Dark Water, Light, or Life Potions may help you damage him quicker as well.

Upon defeat, he will drop a bit of sP and two items consisting of the following:

Candy Corn Caramel Apple Candy Corn Evil Candy Corn Monster Candy Corn Ice Pop

The items are really just food items, although they could feed your pets for more battling if you aren't using the resort. However, a single win will get you the "Where is my Candy?" achievement.

Candyscorn's special loot is as follows:

Candyscorn Keychain Candy Corn Collar

The keychain's only use is a toy while the collar is a wearable that has a kitten resembling Candyscorn appear by your HA.

Morostide Challengers: Lingering Haunt

For those of you who weren't given a satisfying challenge with the Deathly Harbinger, the next opponent up is the Lingering Haunt. There are actually two challengers classified under the "medium" category, but he is the easier of the two.

He's not scary looking, but you will want your pet to at least be on the higher end of tier 2 before fighting him. Nothing is disabled against him, but he can freeze. Here are his stats:

Health: 350 Attack: 225 Defense: 200 Speed: 275 EXP: 350

His stats are not too bad. In fact, they are not really much higher than other high tier 2/low tier 3 challengers. Here are his weapons:

Haunts Chain: 9 dark, 1 earth

Haunts Sheets: 4 ice, 4 wind Low chance to freeze

Puppy-dog Eyes: 3 physical, 3-4 dark, 3-4 light, 3 wind

Lingering Vitality Scroll: 1-3 dark Heals 25 HP

Like Harbinger, his weapons are not really any worse than those you've seen similarly difficult challengers you. His scroll heals him for 25 HP, but considering that he has no means of defense, damaging him shouldn't really be a problem. He can be beaten with a tier 2 if you were to use an infinite use healer such as Life Battle Wand or Ontra Battle Wand alongside your strongest infinite use attacker, though you may have to time your OPB clutch weapons such as non-healer slot healing items or bombs well. Potions may make him easier, especially the Revivifying and Regenerating Pylonics (both of which seem to be kind of OP for tier 2/3 pets). Tier 3 pets should find the haunt easy if they were to use Shrine of Apollonia, which activates a blessin that heals you for 20 HP while blocking off a good chunk of his attacks for 10 turns. You may want to beware that he can freeze you, but getting a fight where he doesn't freeze you shouldn't be too hard.

Upon defeat, he will drop a bit of sP and one of the following items:

Fresh Pumpkin Lucky Kumos Foot Howling Kumos Carved Pumpkin

The foot is a toy and the carved pumpkin is pretty much a freebie for your pumpkin collection (as well as Quentin quest fodder). Like most other challengers, the haunt gives you a free pumpkin to carve/feed/delete. Just one win against him will give you the "Defeat the Ghost!" achievement.

The haunt's special loot is as follows:

Tauntingly Haunted Lingering Haunt Severed Tongue

Like the Harbinger, Lingering Haunt gives a book and a wearable. This time, you get a tongue for your HA.

With Harbinger and Haunt down, next up should be the harder "medium" challenger, Candyscorn!

Morostide Challengers: Deathly Harbinger

Every Morostide, we get to fight several challengers at any point that last until the end of the event. The first and easiest of these challengers is the Deathly Harbinger.

He may look frightening, but he is not as strong as he looks. In fact, he is a tier 1 "easy" challenger and can be taken down by pets who have at least 30 or more in each core stat. Here are his stats:

Health: 55 Attack: 45 Defense: 40 Speed: 50 EXP: 100

His stats are not too bad. Then again, the easy guy couldn't be too strong. Here are his weapons:

Ghostly Tentacles: 6-8 dark Breakable

Harbinger Cape: 3 physical, 3 dark, 1-3 wind Blocks 2 wind, 2 light

Ram Skull: 2 dark, 4 earth Blocks 2 physical

His weapons are not overly powerful. You will want to use an infinite use healer such as Red Rreign Staff of Lore alongside another weapon that either has a good attack on it or has a heal without taking up the healer slot. He shouldn't give you too much survival trouble, but a Darkness Shard might help if you feel he will kill you suddenly with a critical hit.

Upon defeat, he will drop a bit of sP and one of the following items:

Fresh Pumpkin Severed Evil Tentacle Cow Horns

The evil tentacle is mainly Quentin/Cynthia fodder and the horns are a cheap spell reagent. The pumpkin can be carved into one random pumpkin for your pumpkin collection (can be any, old or new). The pumpkin can also be used for both achievements regarding carved pumpkins. Do note that most of the Morostide challengers have Fresh Pumpkins in their loot, so you may have a lot of them, depending on how many of the stronger challengers you can beat as well.

The harbinger's 5th win special loot is as follows:

Severed Harbinger Tentacles Bringing The Harbinger

The tentacles are a wearable while Bringing the Harbinger is a book.

Thankfully, these guides have long been mostly completed, so I should have all of the challenger guides uploaded pretty quickly. Nightlady will have to wait though as I don't know what her loot will be like this year.

The Brotus

With six of the nine icon types used in the Cash Shop titans, only dark/light/physical remain. September's titan is one of the physical element. Meet the physical titan, The Brotus (what a strange name)!

Being not that much taller than a car's length, Brotus might just be our smallest titan so far. However, this doesn't mean he is less dangerous than the other titans, and may actually be one of the harder non-fusion titans. He is classified as an "extremely hard" challenger and is suited for pets who are at least high tier 9/tier 10. Stealing, freezing, and blessings are all disabled against this challenger. His stats are as follows:

Health: 10,999 Attack: 3,500 Defense: 1,000 Speed: 2,100 (formerly 1,500) EXP: 3,000

His stats are lower than those of Sierrac, though 11K health is an awful lot of a no freeze challenger in the "extremely hard" category. His defense isn't very high, so you do have a fair chance at landing critical hits. His weaponry is as follows:

Narrowed Eye: 20-25 light Blocks 11 magma/earth/fire, 7 dark, 25 physical Boosts defense by 250

BROTUS SMASH: 50 or 100 physical Boosts attack and defense by 250

Car Crash: 5-10 physical, 7-15 fire, 5 dark, 3 magma Blocks 10 physical

Jackhammer Punch: 5 magma, 9-13 earth, 15-30 physical Blocks 5 magma, 5 physical May activate Buckling Pavement curse (7 icons; 4 rounds)

Multi-Car Pile-Up: 20-25 physical, 8-12 fire, 8-12 dark

This challenger definitely specializes in physical, although the BROTUS SMASH (yes, this weapon is spelled with ALL CAPS) is the main item to do lots of physical. Although Jackhammer Punch and Multi-Car Pile-Up also have the potential to do a lot of physical, BROTUS SMASH even has the potential to do enough physical to override the defenses on Aerial Assault Jet Pack (as well as giving annoying boosts). If you don't have a physical blocker, you will definitely want to blast this. Narrowed Eye throws off his icons, though light isn't an icon you will really want to focus on blocking. The defense boosts can make him a lot harder to damage though. Fire and dark seem to be his next most prominent icon types. Car Crash is probably the weapon that is the least of your worries.

Since freezing is disabled, you will want to design your weaponry and scrolls around a combination of damage and longevity. A physical blocker is strongly recommended. Your other weapon should be something that can heal you up while also blocking out a little of his other icon types. You may want to use Cobalt Eternal Scrolls as you blast away his weapons as to not be as exposed to his dangerous attacks while you do so. Remember that BROTUS SMASH is an especially recommended blast as this thing is nothing but trouble. Having as many Cobalt Eternal Scrolls in addition to your main scroll is recommended as to give you more insurance (no pun intended) against his attacks. You may also want to carry Light/Darkness/Fire/Earth/Death/Life shards on you in order to live out his attacks more. Although the 100 HP heal of a Revivifying Pylonic might not seem like much for pets who are ready to take him on, it might not hurt to equip it for better longevity. Reverberating Pylonic could help patch up the lack of light defense in a Cobalt Eternal Scroll in case he uses a Narrowed Eye during that time. Negating Pylonic is helpful for blocking out his attacks while also either avoiding a tie or allowing you to heal back up.

Upon defeat, Brotus will drop some sP but no items, except for in the special loot, which is as follows:

Champion Wrestling Belt Give Him The Chair Sticker Smash and Bash

The belt is a wearable that is worn around your shoulder rather than your waist. Smash and Bash is an infinite use tier 8 weapon with 3 mod slots whose effects seem to scale by attack. Findings so far are as follows:

0-2999 attack (Default Stats): 30-40 physical, 1 dark, 1 earth

3000-4999 attack: 34-43 physical, 1-2 dark, 1-2 earth Damages you for 2% of your max HP

5000-7999(?) attack: 47-50 physical, 2-3 dark, 2-3 earth Damages you for 4% of your max HP

8000-12999(?) attack: 50-52 physical, 3 dark, 3 earth Damages you for 7% of your max HP

13000+(?) attack: 53-55 physical, 3 dark, 3 earth Damages you for 10% of your max HP

By the time you hit 8000 attack, this becomes one of the hardest hitting infinite use weapons available. However, the self-damage and lack of a defense make this weapon highly impractical. Even at 2999 or less attack where there is no self-damage, you still won't be using this item too much as you will typically need some sort of healing and/or defense to survive against the tier 8+ challengers attacks (as this challenger very much proves).

Dirty Matty

With four guides completed, the only pirate remaining now is Dirty Matty. He is the second easiest of the pirates.

Dirty Matty is classified as a "medium" challenger and is suitable for pets who are at least high tier 2/low tier 3. Stealing is disabled against this challenger. Here are his stats:

Health: 250 Attack: 175 Defense: 175 Speed: 150 EXP: 400

His stats are pretty much where other challengers in his difficulty range are, though he does have more well-rounded weaponry compared to Rictus or Muffin Man. Here are his weapons:

Mop Strike: 3-4 physical, 5-6 water Blocks 4 fire

Bucket of Sludge: 4-5 earth/dark/water Blocks 3 earth/ice/wind/fire/dark

Between his two weapons, the Bucket of Sludge is definitely the bigger threat. His Mop Strikes do considerably less damage and don't block as much. However, both weapons deal water, which ultimately makes that the best block. He doesn't block water/light/magma/physical, so those icon types would be the best for damaging him. If your pet is at least tier 3, then Shrine of Apollonia will make this fight a lot easier as it heals you for 20 while also blocking 6 icons each worth of earth and dark. When combined with an infinite use healer and a Champion scroll, this can actually make it hard for him to damage you. If you need backup weapons, then Sparkling Quill and Ruffie Healy Bones can give you an emergency 100 HP heal (or Silver Quill/Jewel Encrusted Quill/Mystical Orb of the Gods for a 40/50 HP heal for your tier 2s). Icy Freezing Rod of Doom can help freeze him and allow you to safely do as much damage as you can. As with many challengers under the "medium" category, Revivifying Pylonic's 100 HP heal can massively help in a pinch while the Regenerating Pylonic's boosts can make a big difference.

Upon defeat, Dirty Matty will drop some sP, but no items, except for on the 5th win. His special loot is as follows:

Dirty Matted Braid Belly Wash

The braid is a wig that gives you some hair that is inspired by Dirty Matty. The Belly Wash is a food item.

With Dirty Matty done, my guides for the pirates are complete. I do not know whether or not these challengers will be returning next year, but in case they do, I will keep these guides up for as long as I can.
