Advanced Tactical Systems designs, develops, delivers, and supports real-time tactical command and control systems. We have delivered systems to all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and many of our Allied and Coalition partners. We are seeking an external Business Development Consultant to work with our team and be based anywhere in the Western US, UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa (UK & EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC) regions. The BD Consultant will be responsible for working with sales agents in identifying business opportunities as well as developing capture plans, and winning contracts focused on ATS business opportunities in the C5ISR domain (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance). Developing, managing and growing effective sales agent relationships is key in this role.
Other duties include participating in strategic planning to define current and future products; developing and delivering presentations and white papers; where appropriate, leading ATS proposal activities and participating in prime contractor proposal efforts; coordinating and supporting trade shows; coordinating and conducting customer briefings at customer site; 70% new business generation and 30% account maintenance; UK / EMEA / APAC travel and CONUS travel as necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
10+ years experience in the defense industry (or 5+ years at a commissioned officer level) with 5+ years Business Development experience required
Skilled in developing, managing and growing effective sales agent relationships
Skilled in defining customer needs, and presenting and selling solutions and capabilities
Availability to travel throughout the UK, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific region (and the continental United States as necessary)
Familiarity with U.S. Government acquisition regulations and export laws
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required
Previous work experience with DOD programs preferred but not necessary
U.S. Citizenship preferred, but not necessary
Current U.S. Security Clearance preferred, but not necessary (or the ability to obtain one)
U.S. DOD CAC holder preferred, but not necessary (Department of Defense Common Access Card)
Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales (FMS)
BS degree in a related technical field
Proven experience winning large contracts
Proven experience managing and growing agent sales channels
Experience attaining $10M+ (£6M+) a year in new and renewed contract revenue
Knowledge of the proposal development process with experience leading successful major proposal efforts
Business Development and/or Acquisition, Engineering/Program Management experience
