Normally his disposition would have people running into the night screaming and yet here was this kid – at least, Sydney assumed it was a kid, since he’s voice sounded young and his personality was too hyper for someone Sydney would consider close to his own age. Still, the declaration surprised him a bit, even though Syd’s face still stayed flat and stern. “ No. I wouldn’t.” He bitterly responded. “ Well maybe you should be refining your writing skill then? What makes you think you can help me wit my book if you can’t even write your own?” Syd knew he was just being mean now, and perhaps he was annoyed about how adamant the guy was to work with him,no doubt Sylvia felt the same way. Reluctant, he could only argue so much before becoming exhausted. “ You’ll be on a test run. A trail – if you annoy me, you’re fired. If I hear you breathing too loudly, you’re fired. You will write word-for-word what I tell you to and make no alterations unless I say so. Believe me, I’ll know if you try. Do you understand these terms?”
Humming to himself, Cooper listened to the other man with bated breath--even though Sydney was second-guessing his choice for a career from the moment he stepped into his house. Still, the younger man remained confident in his abilities--not only as a writer but as a person. His efforts may take a while, but the struggling author would not be giving up until he could wear the man down or at least get him to crack one smile. "I will have you know my writing skills were not the problem." He replied and chuckled as he did so, before parting his lips again to speak. "My story was the problem. Apparently, no one was behind the idea of putting fairy tales in a modern world." Cooper huffed back until a wide grin hooked along his features as the sound of the man finally accepting his presence came to ear. "I guess I should be lucky I don't have asthma. I really wouldn't want to annoy you just because I can not breathe and could possibly drop dead at any second." The man teased before clapping his hands together and extending his hand outward to offer a handshake. "I haven't been under strict rules since the time I was dating---never-mind. But--yes! Deal. I'm holding my hand out for a shake, by the way."
