Do I ever cross your mindā¦
Sneja
He does not treat her like something to win. That is where most of them already fail. They want the attention, the reaction, the proof that she is affected by them. They want the soft voice, the nervous smile, the little signs that she is slowly opening. But they do not understand the weight of being let in. They mistake access for achievement. They think being wanted is the same as being trusted.
He knows better.
He does not rush toward the parts of her that are easy to desire. Her body, her beauty, her need, her softness when she finally lowers her guard. Anyone can want that. Anyone can stare at what is obvious and call it admiration. He pays attention to what she tries to hide. The way her tone changes when she feels unsure. The little apology she gives before she even did anything wrong. The silence that is not distance, but fear. The smile that looks pretty to everyone else, but sounds tired to him.
He notices.
And he does not make a performance out of noticing. He simply becomes steadier. Not louder. Not needier. Not desperate to prove that he is different. Just calm enough that her chaos has nowhere to go. Clear enough that she does not have to keep guessing. Present enough that her body slowly stops preparing for disappointment.
He does not demand her surrender. He makes surrender feel intelligent.
He gives her the kind of attention that does not consume her, but settles her. The kind of control that does not shrink her, but finally gives her room to breathe. The kind of dominance that does not need to threaten, because it is already felt in the way he speaks, the way he waits, the way he remembers, the way he does not flinch when she shows him the difficult parts.
He does not want her easy. He wants her honest.
Soft when she can be. Sharp when she needs to be. Messy when she is tired of pretending. Quiet when the world has taken too much from her. And still, he stays composed. Because he understands something boys usually do notā¦
A woman does not become softer because you ask nicely. She becomes softer when she no longer has to protect herself from the person holding her. That is the difference. Some want her attention.
He becomes the place where she finally stops bracing herself.
