So Many Issues
so today is the last day we are working on the Game and so far we have encountered more problems than not and have had to spend time better used elsewhere fixing this stupid little issues but at the end of the day, we will have a built game ready to be reviewed by the teachers and although we've had many problems this project has been pretty fun and I am glad that the main part of this project is now done. Now on to Documentation
Finish line is in sight
So as this is our last week today was mostly spent optimizing our game and getting some last little fixes in before gold on Wednesday like adding the game over and complete screens adding sound effects and particle effects to show something is dangerous looking forward to finishing this project and looking at how far we as a team have come
!!BUGS GALORE!!
So today we were aiming to fix some major bugs but when we fixed one another would pop up in the game and most of them are in the code but neither of our programmers were here so we fixed what we could without touching code but progressed somewhat slowly. overall we need our programmers to be here
Our game is looking Good
so today we were all working on getting some of the teachers feedback implemented like making the level easier as well as getting a reset button and menu working in the later part of the day said menu ended up breaking our game completely but luckily we have some pretty good programmers and managed to fix most of the errors
Beta is Here
So tomorrow is beta and we have made some great progress today so hopefully tomorrow we can do some ironing and get out the final creases in the game but until then here is a gif of our current build.
Final Sprint to Beta
So 1 and 1/2 days are left until the beta milestone is upon us and were making some good progress although we do need to work on some readability and player feedback issues as certain aspects of our game require guesswork hopefully by Wednesday we will have a version that we're proud to present for the beta milestone.
Testing & Scenery
So today our producer was away so I took over the role for the day and during the first half of the day I focused on getting in our testing documents for submissions things like testing feedback and other data. Then after lunch, I went into unity and fixed up some of the scenery by adding in craters and some other effects to make the scene POP more
Slow Day
So today was a slow day for our team one of our artists was missing for the day and our producer went home early due to blood loss and while we have made some progress today it wasn't much. Tomorrow im hoping to map out at least another quarter of the track i really hope we can pick up our slack next week and make more progress on our game than we have this week.
PROGRESS
Today was another day focused on laying ou the track with some new road assets I managed to lay them out till about halfway hopefully tomorrow we can get the rest of the track laid out and really make some headway
Track Testing
So today our producer was away sick, so I had to take over the role for the day most of the work I did was constructing the track so that our playtesters didn't play something half-assed. We got a fair amount of feedback from other students and have isolated some problems areas in RAD City hopefully tomorrow we can implement some changes based on the feedback received.
RAD-City BETA
So today most of my job was getting the level and assets laid out along the track so that the level plays well for our testers so far the level makes the player change lanes on beats of our song
Alpha Crunch time
So tomorrow is the alpha milestone for the projects and as of today we have our new scene, codes and art assets in and ready to be submitted the only thing left for us to do will be to fix up some minor problems in scene and wrap up a couple of loose ends but I have confidence in our team accomplishing the goal. So today's focus for our team was to get everything ready for our alpha milestone for me that included fixing up some problem areas in the hierarchy, spacing out the coolant nodes so it's not impossible to collect them and getting other assets added to the project ie new audio track, car
Presenting RAD City
So today was a big day for all groups as we were presenting to the industry panel, nerves were wracked and tensions high but it wasn't as bad as what people were dreading. we got some good negative feedback which has kept us thinking about how we can improve our game one idea was to give the player something more to focus on so that they won't get bored of our game.
overall glad its done and I realize that it wasn't as scary as imagined
Welcome to RAD City
So an update from last week this is our cover image for our game. today we were solely focused on finishing the presentation and getting our grey box up to the prototype stage. As for tomorrow we will be presenting our game to a panel of industry professionals here's hoping it all goes well
Feedback Implementation
So today our group was focused on many different aspects of our game the artists were working on the cover image, the GUI with one of our programmers and some Maya assets.
In the latter part of the day, most of us had finished our previous tasks and moved on to refining our presentation from the feedback given by teachers some problem areas were fixed but we still have a long way to go but im confident in our team and in our game
Presentations
Today was the first day back at school and our team was focusing on getting our presentation ready for the teachers to look over and critique we ended up with some brilliant art slides to demonstrate our point but the designers didn't really talk about mechanics of our game and left the teachers confused. Tomorrow I hope to work on the presentation and implement some of the feedback from the teachers.
