O my dear soul, wake up.
O my dear soul, wake up.
A GUIDE: 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah Takbir, Tahmid, Tahlil & Tasbih Frequently recite the dhikrs: Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah, la ilaha illallah and Subhanallah, the most beloved of statements to Allah. [Hisn al-Muslim 261]
The Salaf and Day of Arafat
'Abdullāh Ibn Mubārak
I entered upon Sufyān al-Thawrī on the evening of 'Arafah whilst he was kneeling on his knees and his eyes shedding tears, so he turned towards me and I said to him:
Do you know who the loser is today?
He replied:
The one who thinks Allāh shall not forgive him!
Al-Fuḍayl ibn 'Iyāḍ رحمه الله said:
"It is upon the people to learn and once they have learned, it is UPON THEM TO ACT [upon it].
“Don’t assume bad of Allāh, for by Allāh, if you obey Him and love Him, He will make for you a source of relief and a way out, and if you are alone, within your family and society, then Allāh will accompany you in your loneliness. And He will strengthen your heart, and make it firm with His guidance.”
— Shaykh Muḥammad al-Mukhtār ash-Shinqītī
Important Lessons for Ramadan by Sh. Abd Al-Razzāq al-‘Abbād | p. 13
I miss weather like this from back home
That pre- Ramaḍan feeling when you know peace is coming, du’ās will be answered and it’s just you and Allah.
”When you are alone in the dark And the nafs invites you to sin Then feel shame that Allaah is watching and tell the nafs That the one who created the dark is watching”
Imām Shāfī:
“If people reflected upon Surāh Al-Asr, it would be enough for them.”
Depression is often just:
missing fajr
no qur'ān
no dhikr
no sunlight
bad sleep
no walks
processed food
too much phone
zero purpose beyond dunyā
Be genuinely happy for the blessings Allah has given others and know that your time will also come. Don’t let ingratitude or greed blind you to the blessings upon blessings Allah has already showered you with. When Allah gives you, it is best for you & when He withholds from you it is also best for you. We are always in good hands.
When you feel your heart sinking into jealousy and envy, remember that every person has been given their portion of rizq and hardships. You can only see their rizq but you don’t know what kind of battles they’re fighting.
Make du’a for the person, that Allah increases them in what they have and know that when you ask for your brother in private, the angels ask Allah to grant you the same. And what can be more purer than that?
“Overthinking kills your happiness, leave the matter to Allah.”
With time, you will come to know the wisdom of Allah in everything that has happened to you
You will come to realise that He has been more merciful to you than your own self.
