Why the tumblr has been quiet!

It's been a while since we were active on the channel's dedicated tumblr and we should probably explain why. Normally Andy handles the social media accounts, but with his recent cancer diagnosis he doesn't have the energy that he used to and needs to use what he has for the fight. So tumblr fell by the wayside a bit, but the channel is still there, we'll still respond to messages and comments, and when he's better and through this, things will go back to normal. Thanks for your support and kind words, we've been getting a lot of love and it does help.

"Minecraft is a sandbox construction game created by Mojang AB founder Markus Persson, and inspired by the Infiniminer, Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper games. Gameplay involves players interacting with the game world by placing and breaking various types of blocks in a three-dimensional environment. In this environment, players can build creative structures, creations, and artwork on multiplayer servers and singleplayer worlds across multiple game modes."

"Super Smash Bros., known in Japan as Dairantō Smash Brothers (Japanese: 大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ Hepburn: Dairantō Sumasshu Burazāzu?, lit. "Great Melee Smash Brothers"), is a series of crossover fighting games published by Nintendo, that primarily features characters from franchises established on its systems. All five games have been directed by Masahiro Sakurai.

The gameplay objective differs from that of traditional fighters by aiming to knock opponents off of the stage instead of depleting life bars. The original Super Smash Bros., released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, had a small budget and was originally a Japan-only release, but its domestic success led to a worldwide release. The series achieved even greater success with the release of Super Smash Bros. Melee, which was released in 2001 for the GameCube and became the best-selling game on that system. A third installment, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, was released in 2008 for the Wii. Although HAL Laboratory has been the developer of the first two titles, the third game was developed through the collaboration of several companies. The fourth and fifth installments, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, were released in 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, respectively. The 3DS installment was the first series title to be released on a handheld platform.

The series features many characters from Nintendo's most popular franchises, including Mario, Fox McCloud, Link, Kirby, Samus Aran and Pikachu. The original Super Smash Bros. had 12 playable characters, and the roster count has risen to 26 characters in Melee, 39 in Brawl, and 58 in 3DS/Wii U (seven of which are downloadable). Some characters are able to transform into different forms that have different styles of play and sets of moves. The games also feature non-playable Nintendo characters, like Ridley and Petey Piranha. In Brawl, two third-party characters were added, Solid Snake and Sonic the Hedgehog. Additional third-party characters Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Cloud Strife and Bayonetta appeared in 3DS and Wii U, while Solid Snake was removed from the line-up.

Every title in the series has been well received by critics, with much praise given to the multiplayer mode experience. The Super Smash Bros. games have spawned a large competitive community and have been featured in several high-profile gaming tournaments."

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse (officially abbreviated as Dragon Ball XV) is a fighting role-playing video game based on the Dragon Ball media franchise developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco Games. It was released in February 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It was the first Dragon Ball video game released on eighth generation video game consoles and the last Dragon Ball video game released on seventh generation consoles. On May 17, 2016, a sequel, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, was confirmed."

In weekend 2 of the Titanfall 2 Open Tech Test, there were a whole host of tweaks and improvements to the game which made it a much faster paced and more frenetic experience.

To try it out, this time Alex and Andy brought Kim back out of cryo-stasis to make a 3 Plonkers!

Titanfall 2. It's the sequel to the game about mashing giant robots together and pulling off insane parkour with jetpacks. And its also about mashing giant robots together and pulling off insane parkour with jetpacks.

For those that might not know; Titanfall 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, the sequel to Titanfall. It is being developed by Respawn Entertainment and will be published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. The game is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2016.

We're playing it on Xbox One and playing what is arguably the 'classic' Titanfall game mode, Hardpoint. The difference this time is that 'hard points' of which there are 3 on the map at any time, can be 'amped' by a player staying in the area. An amped Hardpoint gives double the points whilst it stays amped.

Some changes were made to the game in the second weekend of the Tech Test; Pilot running speed was increased, and Pilots were given passive Titan Drop generation. Titan Drops were also sped up in terms of how easy they are to get.

Only 2 of the planned 6 Titans were available to play, the energy weapon wielding Ion, and the fire-throwing Scorch models.

Time for a new series of REplay; Andy chose Metroid Fusion on the GameBoy Advance. Alex will be playing on the Wii U Virtual Console.

He's never played the game before, but it is one of Andy's favourite handheld games, he played it on the bus journeys from home to school and back again, and it was the first Metroidvania game he ever actually completed. Alex hasn't ever played this kind of game before so he's understandably a bit unimpressed at the idea.

"Metroid Fusion is an action-adventure video game published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld game console. The fourth installment in the Metroid series, it was developed by the company's Research & Development 1 (R&D1) division—the same team that previously developed the 1994 game Super Metroid, to which Fusion bears heavy resemblance. It was released in North America, Europe, and Australia in November 2002, and in Japan in February 2003.

The game's story follows bounty hunter Samus Aran, who is sent by the Galactic Federation to investigate the Biologic Space Laboratories space station, where it is swarming with organisms infected with virions known as the X Parasites. Like in previous Metroid games, Fusion is played from the side-scrolling perspective. It introduces mission-based gameplay that aids the player to explore areas. The game consists of objectives, which are flexible in how they can be accomplished. Fusion was released simultaneously with the GameCube game Metroid Prime in North America. The bonus features in Prime can be unlocked by linking between the game and Fusion via the Nintendo GameCube – Game Boy Advance link cable.

Metroid Fusion received critical acclaim from critics, who praised the game for its action-oriented gameplay. Fusion received several awards, including Handheld Game of the Year at the 2002 Interactive Achievement Awards, Best Game Boy Advance Adventure Game from IGN, and Best Action Game on Game Boy Advance from GameSpot. The game was released as a Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console title in December 2011, as part of the "3DS Ambassadors" program. The Wii U Virtual Console version was later released in April 2014."

This week in Bro-Operators on Rise of the Tomb Raider:

With time running out, Lara needs to track down Trinity and free Jonah - he survived the first game, the only one of Lara's group to do so. He's stuck with her since that whole incident despite her issues and her struggle to deal with regular non-adventuring life. Time to return the favour and save him from the nut cases that want the Atlas!

And lets hope the Deathless Ones don't show up again, because they're bastards.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. It is the sequel to the 2013 video game Tomb Raider, a reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise. It was released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 in November 2015 and for Microsoft Windows in January 2016. It is set to release for PlayStation 4 in the second half of 2016.

The game's storyline follows Lara Croft as she ventures into Siberia in search of the legendary city of Kitezh, whilst battling a paramilitary organization that intends on beating her to the city's promise of immortality. Presented from a third-person perspective, the game primarily focuses on survival and combat, while the player may also explore its landscape and various optional tombs. Camilla Luddington returns to voice and perform her role as Lara.

And as always, Andy and Alex share one controller to try and complete the game!

Ragdoll Runners is a physics-based athletics game where you control independently the two legs of an athlete in 8 events of different types: sprint, long jump, triple jump, hurdles. Play against the computer, with 3 friends on the same PC or online against other players’ records.

You run with two keys: one key per leg. So you cannot count on pounding your keyboard to achieve victory like in most athletics games. You require good timing and mental strength.

At first, you run and jump in a disjointed fashion, causing funny situations. However, the better you get, the more your actions resemble those of true champions and it becomes very rewarding.

A third key allows to lean forward on certain occasions: to finish a sprint, a jump, or to jump over a hurdle.

Game Modes; Solo: compete against increasingly strong opponents and become a champion in each event. Splitscreen: play against 3 friends on the same computer (gamepad supported), or 2 or 1! Online; - Confront the world record and your friends’ records. - Challenge mode: compete against increasingly strong records from the leaderboards and become a concurrent for other players. - Daily Contest : experience the stress of competition with a limited number of attempts each day. Do your best in each event to score the most points in the Octathlon.

This time, back in Super Mario Maker for the Wii U, the guys have a new challenge, and they're calling it 'The Quest for Fire'. Basically, if someone fails at a level 5 times, losing 5 lives in effect, they have to take a bite from a Scotch Bonnet pepper.

Most Scotch bonnets have a heat rating of 100,000–350,000 Scoville units, which is about the same heat as Habanero peppers - which are the peppers used in bear deterrent.

Needless to say, neither of our intrepid Plonkers is particularly excited about the idea...

Super Mario Maker is a side-scrolling platform game creation system and video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii U game console, and released worldwide in September 2015. Players may create and play their own custom levels based on Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. U, and share them online. Over time, new editing tools are unlocked, allowing players to download and play levels designed by other players.

This week the guys try out a crazy gametype someone made in Halo 5: Guardians - it's Shenanigans, where we play games but not necessarily the way the developers might have intended!

The game type in question is called Beer Pong and its made by AFTM Reclaimer, find it on the Halo Waypoint file browser to download it to Halo 5!

Kim's audio had a goof in this and some upcoming videos, in that it recorded from his webcam rather than from his microphone - its been boosted and cleaned up as much as possible but isn't up to its usual Plonkers Inc crystal clear standard, so sorry about that folks!

Halo 5: Guardians is a first-person shooter video game developed by 343 Industries and published by Microsoft Studios for the Xbox One home video game console. Part of the Halo series, the game was released on October 27, 2015. Halo 5's plot follows two fireteams of human supersoldiers; when Blue Team, led by Master Chief, goes absent without leave to track down the artificial intelligence construct Cortana, the Master Chief's loyalties are called into question and Spartan Locke along with Fireteam Osiris are sent to retrieve him.

The game, as with other entries in the Halo series since the 3rd game, has a 'Forge' mode in it which allows players to create their own game types and map variants, but in Halo 5 it is even more versatile than ever, and people with enough patience have figured out some ridiculously clever things they can do within the systems given to them.

Forge mode is also getting a standalone PC release at some point in the near future, which is a first for the Halo franchise.

Pac-Man World 2 is almost over, all that Andy needs to do is beat Spooky - the final boss! Its proved hard so far, but with an entire episode to dedicate to it, he thinks he can do it...or maybe Alex can if Andy rage quits too hard.

Either way, the finale is upon us!

Pac-Man World 2 (パックマンワールド2 Pakkuman Wārudo Tsū?) is a video game by Namco for Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, and Microsoft Windows released in 2002. The Xbox version is not compatible with Xbox 360. Perfect Dark is a remastered release of the first-person shooter video game by the same name. Developed by 4J Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios a decade after the original's 2000 release, the remaster features several technical improvements, including higher resolution textures and models, a higher frame rate, and a multiplayer mode that supports the Xbox Live online service. It was released for the Xbox 360 video game console in March 2010, through the Xbox Live Arcade download service. The story of the game follows Joanna Dark, an agent of the Carrington Institute organization, as she attempts to stop a conspiracy by rival corporation dataDyne.

Perfect Dark was under development for nearly a year and its game engine was completely re-written from scratch to support several Xbox 360 features. Therefore, although the game plays exactly the same as the original, the code and renderer is different. The game received generally favorable reviews. Some critics considered the relatively unchanged game to be outdated, but most agreed that the title was a solid revival of a classic. As of the end of 2011, the game had sold nearly 410,000 units.

It's been one of Andy's favourite games since he first got it on the N64, and it was one of the most watched Bro-Downs, so the guys decided on a rematch. Will Alex regret it? Which brother do you think will win?

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game based on the Scott Pilgrim series of Oni Press graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley, tying in with the release of the film of the same name. It is published by Ubisoft and developed by Ubisoft Montreal with Ubisoft Chengdu. The game was first announced at Comic Con 2009 in July 2009. It was released on PlayStation Network on August 10, 2010, and on Xbox Live Arcade on August 25, 2010. It subsequently got pulled from all stores and is no longer available.

Titanfall 2. It's the sequel to the game about mashing giant robots together and pulling off insane parkour with jetpacks. And its also about mashing giant robots together and pulling off insane parkour with jetpacks.

Is it any good? Well, Andy and Alex got a chance to play the Open Tech Test in its first weekend, so here's their experience they wanted to share with all of you guys!

For those that might not know; Titanfall 2 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, the sequel to Titanfall. It is being developed by Respawn Entertainment and will be published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. The game is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2016.

We're playing it on Xbox One and playing what is arguably the 'classic' Titanfall game mode, Hardpoint. The difference this time is that 'hard points' of which there are 3 on the map at any time, can be 'amped' by a player staying in the area. An amped Hardpoint gives double the points whilst it stays amped.

Some changes were made to the game after the first weekend of the Tech Test; Pilot running speed was increased, and Pilots were given passive Titan Drop generation. Titan Drops were also sped up in terms of how easy they are to get, but just a reminder; this video was recorded in the first weekend, pre-changes.

Only 2 of the planned 6 Titans were available to play, the energy weapon wielding Ion, and the fire-throwing Scorch models.
