Seeing as Schuyler’s the only person living here that I know of old enough to have a niece around my age, I’m torn. On one hand, I would love to take you along while I take the ferry to Staten Island and see if the Kreischer House is really as pantshittingly haunted as everyone makes it sound. On the other, your uncle might kick me out of the complex if I ruin New York for you, too. On a scale of one to Wendy Torrance, how easily do you scare?
Uncle Adam is a good man. He didn’t have to take me in after the shit storm I caused back home. Besides, I think he’d want me to get out a little. I could use some more friends. Joey is a sweetie, but we’ve never gone far from the complex when we go out. I’m gonna say Wendy Torrance? I mean, I grew up loving horror? I was laughing at Michael Meyers when I was like six? It’s pretty hard to scare me.

Not really, just trying to think of a few positives… everywhere has them. Usually.

Of course, think I had a couple of their albums when I was a kid. Heavy Metal is usually a good pick. There’s guitars and hedonism.
Maybe Cali has some, just not where I’m from.
Always. I listen to a decent variety, but it’s mostly rock and metal.

I’m also quick on my feet, easy on the eyes, and incredibly modest, so you don’t need to point those out. The city and the ocean aren’t actually all that different – there are high and low tides, mostly undiscovered depths, and sharks.
I can see the easy on the eyes well enough, handsome. I’d have to have some hang out time to see the rest for myself. Not really any difference, when you put it like that. But I guess my history back home makes Cali just...not as appealing as it should be. Let’s just say there’s a lot of bad memories back in Cali that I’m not fond of being reminded of. I guess that’s part of why I had no problem coming to live with my uncle.
unconqueredschuyler:
Oh my fuck, are you a surfer boy? You probably surf better than 99% of the surfers back home.
Well damn. I bet you're a lot smarter than every one of those boys back home. Tye ocean is pretty and all, I just like it better here. My uncle was nice enough to help me out, at least.
ffrankienstein
I mean, it’s been a while but I don’t think it was all bad there. Also, I’m pretty sure Guns N’ Roses formed in Cali but generally I’d agree. Here is the place to be for sure, so welcome.
I hated it there. Maybe you were lucky and had a good place.
Oh my god, Guns N Roses is amazing. Do you know Motley Crue, too? I listen to so many genres it’s sometimes hard to keep up with.

Warmth. Disneyland. Skateboarding 90% of the year. That’s all I’ve got, but I’ve never really lived anywhere but New York, unless you count the couch in Jersey I lived on.
I didn’t know many skateboarders, honestly. Back home where I grew up was like...surf central. Dumb surfer boys everywhere. It was kind of obnoxious, but they could throw a good party once in a while. I kind of like the weather more here, but maybe I just never really liked the heat of Cali.
Damn-It-Dom-Hummel
Dom Hummel here, speaking on behalf of Imperial Beach, Balboa Park, La Jolla Cove, and all other associated parties – you clearly weren’t doing it right.
Oh my fuck, are you a surfer boy? You probably surf better than 99% of the surfers back home.
BerryJohanna
Not weird, just hipster.
Maybe my guilty pleasure for dumb surfer boys makes me more biased.
You like my being hipster, Joey. Admit it.
Trust me, dumb surfer boys aren’t much fun at all. We could have much more fun than any of the dumb surer boys.

I had a dream that I won a Country Music Award but when I got up to accept my award I could only speak in Frozen song lyrics. Not sure what that means but I assume it’s not good. Does this mean my country music career is over before it even starts? I didn’t even know I could be talented at country music, and now it’s just all gone
What if your dream is telling you that you can be good at country music if you try? The Disney thing is...well I don't know anyone who doesn't sing Disney songs. Most of my favorite movies are Disney, actually.

Ugh, Cali. Hotter than Satan’s butthole. New York is the place to be, it’s gray and has pizza rat.
Cali is full of dim witted, wannabe models. At least here there's good music and food. I like New York more than I thought I would, honestly. And I'm glad I'm here.
TheOfficialRachelBerry
Where is the lie? Truthfully, I find none. New York’s climate is perfect, the skyscrapers are perfect, the white noise provided by the neverending busy streets is perfect and of course, we cannot forget Broadway.
I love Broadway! I would love to go at some point. I just don't have enough money. The noise and array of people is really cool, too. I hear there's some big tourist locations I should go to. I might check them out eventually.
KaiFrancxs
Because some people like the warmth better than the cold? Or, I don’t know, people just having their own preference? Humans are weird, apparently.
I don't know. I grew up in Cali, and honestly...it sucked. Maybe I just need to get out more. Haha.
BerryJohanna
Sun. Warmth. In N Out.
In N Out is great and all, but sun year round is not worth it. Haha. I like being able to watch the leaves change color. I don't know, maybe I'm weird.
