why this project? why this medium (source code to rug), what is the meaning in that re: digital, grief, labour, learning a new language, new skill.

what does it mean to make something digital that cannot be shared publicly in the way we're now used to sharing?

in memoriam posts/"really missing you today" posts/tribute pages/forever online/last seen/tagged photos

not getting into the territory of "grieving digitally is bad" but rather grief is a language we don't understand/people can see it but it is also kept private/grief takes work to feel and understand/we can be met by grief at the door/when we log on/when we open messages/we can use grief/we can make grief/we can show our work and be vulnerable/we learn grief/we consume others' grief daily/we decode and recode grief to understand it/we share it with others by publishing it digitally/

( -> adhd, learning disability, body, non-binary, queer) -> what does this rug/source code/data/video/net art say about labour/capitalism doesnt fit with who i am? -> offering my own perspective and insights thru my differing ways of perceiving on labour/capitalism etc

Somehow I never thought of using a punch needle to make a cool rug like this. He really walks through every small step and shows how he makes this badass rug. It's super inspiring to see the whole process laid out and explained so well, and now I really want to design a rug!!!
