I finally designed what’s under my ‘700 Mettaton’s body for my Undertale AU, said Underbubble, yep the one comic i put on Hiatus bcs ……i wasn’t happy with most of my ideas. I started drawing but at a certain moment i told myself: YOU KNOW WHAT! I CAN DO BETTER. And I tooksome time to visualize my characters. Mettaton was the hardest to conceive. I must remark the fact HE IS NOT GONNA BE NAKED IN THE COMIC. I just kinda had to design his entire structure bcs, being a ROBOT in the 1700…. i kinda had to justify him. So here I am explaining this idea bcs, I spent time so I am gonna explain MY STRUGGLE SO NO ONE CAN SAY THEY DID IT FIRST. The problem with mettaton was… he is a robot (not explaining the details of his character bcs it would be spoiler otherwise) and in the 1700 robots, metal adroids and machines were not a thing. So how to make a historically accurate robot character in the 1700? Easy. I remembered… AUTOMATAS were a huge thing in that period. So i stumbled into this article https://ladyreading.forumfree.it/?t=69859377 And I fell in love (it’s in italian so i will explain) In practice in the glorious 1700 France theatre plays used this kind of automatas to make them play as mute characters (they could represent both females or males since they were designed to adjust to any kind of clothes) They were a miracle of that period’s science, since they were basically wood marionettes that could do certain kind of gestures and walk on their own thanks to a complicated system of gears. So this is basically my Underbubble!Mettaton a wooden automata of the 1700 possessed by.. a … ok (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER OF UNDERTALE) a ghost. This is pretty important to me so i wanted so badly Underbubble to respect those basic canons of Toby Fox’s masterpiece. So I am pretty proud of this. I swear I didn’t forget

Ok guys, I am trying to reschedule my entire life. New comic page is sketched and just need a lil of my time and strenght, don’t worry, Underbubble is still alive, even if it needs a rigid update schedule. (That I think i will put at 1 page/week or 1pag/2week.) Stay tuned for updates, and remember you can access early content and get montly reward on my patreon, plus, charts and short extracts of the comic story are going to be put there too (or even here, i am having massive changings).
