Welcome to this official Undertale AU blog! This AU takes place in a light academia, fantasy, surface world. Humans and monsters coexist well, and Gaster is the main antagonist.

Its set around the medieval era timewise, but advancements have gone differently due to the presence of magic. Humans cannot naturally have magic, but are able to learn or receive magic powers, and those with single trait souls have powers, unique powers, and are thus very powerful.

Most, if not all the Undertale cast are present, but have different roles in the story.

There will also be OC characters, and submission of your own OC characters that you have, or would like to see in this world is encouraged!

This AU is only just starting, so any and all Ideas you have are welcome!

Toriel

In this Universe, Toriel is queen of the land, her husband having left after a disagreement. She is a powerful woman, and a strong mage.

She will be a character you hear much about for a while until we finally meet her, at which point she will be a major aiding character

Grillby and Emburn

In this AU, Grillby is a grizzled veteran Dragon Rider. He has the typical knight's armor for attire, similar to Undyne's armor in the classic game.

Emburn is an OC, Grillby's nephew, who is a mage. His design is inspired by @fellswap-x's Grillby design, but I take more inspiration from Howl from Howl's Moving castle for his outfit design.

Both of them will be somewhat centric characters, who aid Frisk in several ways on the journey

Pyrite (Papyrus)

In this universe, Papyrus is most similar to Swap!Papyrus, namely in that he's the older brother of the two, and has the milder demeanor.

He and his brother are in the shop for dragon care, Spark at the deskwork, and Pyrite part of the crew that does the actual claw and scale and such care

He dreams of being a dragon rider or part of the guard like Undyne, but doesn't actually see himself achieving this any time soon

Spark (sans)

In this au, there haven't been any resets yet, nothing has been erased, or lost. He hasn't lost his hope yet.

Thus, he is similar to Classic Sans in his sense of humor, but also to Swap!Sans with his care for life and those around him. He's silly, but not out of a sense of hopelessness.

When he meets Frisk, and finds out what they're trying to do, he wants to help them, and help this interesting little flower guy. He's a lot more proactive in this Universe than in others.

Souls

Souls are a little different in this au, and being a fantasy au, I imagine them to be rounded at the tops, and definitely 3-dimensional.

They have the appearance of a liquid gem, whatever shape they are, and are extremely beautiful and precious.

I can't describe it well, but picture a heart with the surface appearance that this bubble has

Monster's upside down white hearts have the appearance of sparkling snow, and can be quite dazzling.

Human souls usually are some multi colored heart, with whatever few traits are most predominant. They are not born with magic like monsters, but if they are thus inclined, they can learn certain forms of magic, or use magical items or such.

Pure, one trait human souls are rare, and thus powerful. each trait has a unique power, which will be given more detail later.

Determination is the rarest trait, but no one in this world knows this yet, as there hasn't been an opportunity to find or isolate Determination as a trait. The people who care, know that Determination trait exists, due to seeing it in part in other souls, but no one knows what it's power is.

I like the idea of the puffy sleeves, with some kind of vest/jacket, and big shorts. the head is also perfect imo
