âI only accept adoration if itâs aimed at me.â
âWell good thing it is at you then right?â
âSee? I canât even tell a difference.â
âItâs fine. I think they are the same words in both languages.â
âAh bueno! Itâs nice to know I wonât completely lose my ability to speak Spanish when Iâm away from home. Thereâs another girl, Ximena I think?â
âOne of the Ares girls is actually from Spain too I think so no. You will not lose it.â
It happened again. But this one was stronger, longer. The shadows lingered everywhere in her room. Skeletons spawned and then fell to pieces, leaving the ground filled with their bones. She could remember it all a bit too well, the screaming, her pulse going quickly. The burning taking over her thoughts, she couldnât think, couldnât move. The salt and freezing water sweeping into her mouth, as people laughed the water came in her lungs. The struggle was becoming more and more difficult, she couldnât breathe. All she could see ere black spots and dark figures asâ- A noise made Laila wake up from another daydream. âWhat do you want?!?â She spat. Not caring if it was a person or a ghost.
Marcelo sat in the main room of his cabin staring idly at the television in front of him. It was boring, he was bored. His sisters were both in their rooms and his friends were busy doing other things. So the son of Hades had nothing to do but listen to whatever was on tv. He couldnât even understand it anyway, the words were too different for him to understand much of it. A scream came from Lailaâs room and he shot up hurrying to her room. Marcelo watched her shoot up and shook his head at her, âYou screamed. What happened irmĂŁzinha?â He sat next to her.Â
He was warm. And for a moment sheâs just reveling in the warmth before clearing her throat and working to answer him. âHe gave me everything he hadâI owe it to him.â She wouldnât have not done it either way. Her father was all that she really knew until Camp Half-Blood; he taught her everything she knew about suriviving in the wild. Hell, he mightâve not even known she was a demigod until the satyr came to take her away. But he gave her it all until he was reduced to working late nights in order to make ends meet. âIâ I canât even argue against that..â
âHeâs your father, he loves you. Everything he did was for you, he didnât have to keep you.â There was adoption and things like that. If he truly felt like Eliza had owed him something he never would have kept her or been as strong of a person in her life as she said. âMy mother did the same thing and every time I tried to tell her I owed her she told me no. Iâm sure he would say the same thing.â There was a moment that his mind flashed to his own mother, wondering where she was right now. âYouâre a good daughter I am sure. No matter if you lost your temper with Hermera.â
âAh cool! Bueno, no la parte cĂĄrtel pero hablas español? Oh wait probably not, you probably speak Portuguese right?â
âYo puedo hablar tanto. I moved all over South America you had to know both to get by.â
âGood to know, and I only wish I knew Italian.â
âMe too. It was Portuguese, I donât know if the words are the same in Italian.â
THE MAGIC BEGINSÂ Â Â âł Your House: Gryffindor
âOh shit. Whereâd you grow up?â
âSouth America is where I lived, all over there I suppose Brazil would have to be what I call my home?â
âHe canât move on.â It was like he didnât want to move on, really, which made her more upset than anything. âThatâs just soâ so selfish of them, andââ The very thought of it made her blood start to boil again, so she simply set her head on his shoulder and let out a frustrated sigh. She nodded when he gave the last part. âI had to make sure he got out of bed.â If Dad wouldnât get out of bed, she couldnât go to school nor would he go to work; no one really won in that situation. So she just stays quiet and listens to him reason. âI justâŠâ And the tiredness is creeping back in and itâs so tempting to just run back into her cabin and hide away from all of this. âHe doesnât deserve to feel like this.â
He agreed with her, it was selfish of them to take people who only live one life and make them focus on them instead of being able to have actual relationships with people. Even his mother refused to love other people because she was too busy thinking of Hades. âYou did good for him, there are some who wouldnât do that.â As much as he wanted to put all the blame on the gods he couldnât, he knew now they had no choice because of Zeusâs rules but he wouldnât tell her that right now. A slight smile came to his face when he rested her head on his shoulder. âNo, but he also feels love for you. He would not trade it.â
Adam had been thinking non-stop about Marcello and Zak since he decided to make his way back to the camp. Heâd got them a bunch of gifts, but the one thing he wanted was just to see them again and as soon as Marcello made himself known, a grin appeared on his face that went from ear to ear. âIâm weak, donât remind me. But okayââ Quickly, he rushed to open the door and did so with a bounce in his step. âTell me Iâm beautiful now, and once you drop the bags get yourself over here and hug me, damn it! I made my demands clear on Twitter.â
Being bored and lonely wanât something Marcelo was used to anymore so he was overly ecstatic about having Adam back in camp. âIt is why I am here! If I was not strong you would find no use for me honestly.â He stood back watching as Adam went to open the door to his cabin, âWhy do you have so much stuff honestly, you need less clothes.â Where Marcelo was lacking in things to wear Adam could probably change outfits three times a day and have plenty of clothes, it amused him. âYouâre bonito, considerĂĄvel , impressionante!â he laughed as he sat the bags down before pulling his friend into a hug, âI missed you.â
âWhy? Not a lot of people smoke âround here?â
âAround here sure yeah. But I grew up in cartel areaâs my whole life. It wasnât for fun it was business.â
Arriving at the gates with more than five bags was maybe a better idea in theory than it was in practice. Dragging them along the ground, Adam took a small break to push the lavender locks away from his eyes. Things had changed with him since his time in New Yorkâ new hair, a new tattoo, a lip ring and a 4mm stretcher in his ear and a helix piercing above it, and in all honesty? The son of Hypnos loved how he looked these days. However, that didnât change the fact that he was struggling getting his damn bags back to his cabin. âToo much stuffâ he muttered to himself as he put a hand on his hip, sizing the luggage up for size.
After seeing the tweets from Adam Marc was happier than heâd been in a while. Eliza was upset and hadnât really enjoyed their date at all, Zak had been busy so Marcelo had been in turn alone for the most part. The son of Hades was planning on going to the Hypnos cabin and just waiting for his friend but when he got close to the cabin he was greeted with a struggling Adam. âOi meu Adam!â he grinned walking over and picking up his friends bags with ease. âYou did so much but you did not work out!â He looked over his friend for a moment, âYou look amazing, Iâll tell you more about how beautiful you are later, open the doors please.â
When he pulled her into a hug she didnât resist or even think about pulling back. There was a sense of comfort when he didnât just walk away after she just continued to wallow in misery. âShe made my dad depressed. Some days he wonât even get out of bed.â That was the easiest way to explain it. She didnât really want to explain that a lot of those times that he wouldnât get out of bed, heâd compare Eliza to her motherâthe worst part about that was there was absolutely nothing to compare the two of them. Eliza and her mother looked so different, too different to believe that they are related. âShe ruined his life.â
âHe was in love with her.â Heâd heard it before when people would talk about their families at home. Even his mother had been deeply in love with his father. âIâll never understand the gods... why they would make people love them like that knowing that they could never stay with them.â And most of them had spouses or lovers who were gods, it wasnât like they were too lonely. âYou had to take care of him then, and of yourself.â he supplied the last part on his own knowing that was how this would end. âIf you do not mind me saying it, I think to him it was worth the pain... you speak of how close the two of you are. If he had not been with her he would not have you.â
@ofdrowsiness: comin' home early because i miss the heck out of everyone, i'll be back in a few hours guys xx
@marccardoza: @ofdrowsiness good i missed you
âIf this is a joke I swear to all the godsâŠâ
âNo this is the Hades meu prima.â
She didnât like feeling like everyone wanted to make sure she was okay; it made her seem like she was under the microscope. Eliza was surprised that Chiron hadnât said anything to her yet, especially since she had yelled at a goddess. But she wouldnât voice thatâhe could probably figure that out for himself. When he had said mi before Eliza she had to pause for a second and look up at him. âI wish she had never come here,â was all that she mumbled.
There was no way he could make this better, this was a wound that she would have to heal on her own. No matter how much Marcelo tried there was nothing he could do about it other than listen. He thought back to their date, that disaster, and knew by all rights she probably didnât want him prying into anything about her but he couldnât help himself. Even if he was only ever going to be her friend he needed her to be okay. Pulling her into a hug he hoped she wouldnât push him away, âWhat did she do exactly? I just want to understand.â
