“I only accept adoration if it’s aimed at me.”
“Well good thing it is at you then right?”
“See? I can’t even tell a difference.”
“It’s fine. I think they are the same words in both languages.”
“Ah bueno! It’s nice to know I won’t completely lose my ability to speak Spanish when I’m away from home. There’s another girl, Ximena I think?”
“One of the Ares girls is actually from Spain too I think so no. You will not lose it.”
It happened again. But this one was stronger, longer. The shadows lingered everywhere in her room. Skeletons spawned and then fell to pieces, leaving the ground filled with their bones. She could remember it all a bit too well, the screaming, her pulse going quickly. The burning taking over her thoughts, she couldn’t think, couldn’t move. The salt and freezing water sweeping into her mouth, as people laughed the water came in her lungs. The struggle was becoming more and more difficult, she couldn’t breathe. All she could see ere black spots and dark figures as–- A noise made Laila wake up from another daydream. “What do you want?!?” She spat. Not caring if it was a person or a ghost.
Marcelo sat in the main room of his cabin staring idly at the television in front of him. It was boring, he was bored. His sisters were both in their rooms and his friends were busy doing other things. So the son of Hades had nothing to do but listen to whatever was on tv. He couldn’t even understand it anyway, the words were too different for him to understand much of it. A scream came from Laila’s room and he shot up hurrying to her room. Marcelo watched her shoot up and shook his head at her, “You screamed. What happened irmãzinha?” He sat next to her.
He was warm. And for a moment she’s just reveling in the warmth before clearing her throat and working to answer him. “He gave me everything he had–I owe it to him.” She wouldn’t have not done it either way. Her father was all that she really knew until Camp Half-Blood; he taught her everything she knew about suriviving in the wild. Hell, he might’ve not even known she was a demigod until the satyr came to take her away. But he gave her it all until he was reduced to working late nights in order to make ends meet. “I– I can’t even argue against that..”
“He’s your father, he loves you. Everything he did was for you, he didn’t have to keep you.” There was adoption and things like that. If he truly felt like Eliza had owed him something he never would have kept her or been as strong of a person in her life as she said. “My mother did the same thing and every time I tried to tell her I owed her she told me no. I’m sure he would say the same thing.” There was a moment that his mind flashed to his own mother, wondering where she was right now. “You’re a good daughter I am sure. No matter if you lost your temper with Hermera.”
“Ah cool! Bueno, no la parte cártel pero hablas español? Oh wait probably not, you probably speak Portuguese right?”
“Yo puedo hablar tanto. I moved all over South America you had to know both to get by.”
“Good to know, and I only wish I knew Italian.”
“Me too. It was Portuguese, I don’t know if the words are the same in Italian.”

“Oh shit. Where’d you grow up?”
“South America is where I lived, all over there I suppose Brazil would have to be what I call my home?”
“He can’t move on.” It was like he didn’t want to move on, really, which made her more upset than anything. “That’s just so– so selfish of them, and–” The very thought of it made her blood start to boil again, so she simply set her head on his shoulder and let out a frustrated sigh. She nodded when he gave the last part. “I had to make sure he got out of bed.” If Dad wouldn’t get out of bed, she couldn’t go to school nor would he go to work; no one really won in that situation. So she just stays quiet and listens to him reason. “I just…” And the tiredness is creeping back in and it’s so tempting to just run back into her cabin and hide away from all of this. “He doesn’t deserve to feel like this.”
He agreed with her, it was selfish of them to take people who only live one life and make them focus on them instead of being able to have actual relationships with people. Even his mother refused to love other people because she was too busy thinking of Hades. “You did good for him, there are some who wouldn’t do that.” As much as he wanted to put all the blame on the gods he couldn’t, he knew now they had no choice because of Zeus’s rules but he wouldn’t tell her that right now. A slight smile came to his face when he rested her head on his shoulder. “No, but he also feels love for you. He would not trade it.”
Adam had been thinking non-stop about Marcello and Zak since he decided to make his way back to the camp. He’d got them a bunch of gifts, but the one thing he wanted was just to see them again and as soon as Marcello made himself known, a grin appeared on his face that went from ear to ear. “I’m weak, don’t remind me. But okay–” Quickly, he rushed to open the door and did so with a bounce in his step. “Tell me I’m beautiful now, and once you drop the bags get yourself over here and hug me, damn it! I made my demands clear on Twitter.”
Being bored and lonely wan’t something Marcelo was used to anymore so he was overly ecstatic about having Adam back in camp. “It is why I am here! If I was not strong you would find no use for me honestly.” He stood back watching as Adam went to open the door to his cabin, “Why do you have so much stuff honestly, you need less clothes.” Where Marcelo was lacking in things to wear Adam could probably change outfits three times a day and have plenty of clothes, it amused him. “You’re bonito, considerável , impressionante!” he laughed as he sat the bags down before pulling his friend into a hug, “I missed you.”
“Why? Not a lot of people smoke ‘round here?”
“Around here sure yeah. But I grew up in cartel area’s my whole life. It wasn’t for fun it was business.”
Arriving at the gates with more than five bags was maybe a better idea in theory than it was in practice. Dragging them along the ground, Adam took a small break to push the lavender locks away from his eyes. Things had changed with him since his time in New York– new hair, a new tattoo, a lip ring and a 4mm stretcher in his ear and a helix piercing above it, and in all honesty? The son of Hypnos loved how he looked these days. However, that didn’t change the fact that he was struggling getting his damn bags back to his cabin. “Too much stuff” he muttered to himself as he put a hand on his hip, sizing the luggage up for size.
After seeing the tweets from Adam Marc was happier than he’d been in a while. Eliza was upset and hadn’t really enjoyed their date at all, Zak had been busy so Marcelo had been in turn alone for the most part. The son of Hades was planning on going to the Hypnos cabin and just waiting for his friend but when he got close to the cabin he was greeted with a struggling Adam. “Oi meu Adam!” he grinned walking over and picking up his friends bags with ease. “You did so much but you did not work out!” He looked over his friend for a moment, “You look amazing, I’ll tell you more about how beautiful you are later, open the doors please.”
When he pulled her into a hug she didn’t resist or even think about pulling back. There was a sense of comfort when he didn’t just walk away after she just continued to wallow in misery. “She made my dad depressed. Some days he won’t even get out of bed.” That was the easiest way to explain it. She didn’t really want to explain that a lot of those times that he wouldn’t get out of bed, he’d compare Eliza to her mother–the worst part about that was there was absolutely nothing to compare the two of them. Eliza and her mother looked so different, too different to believe that they are related. “She ruined his life.”
“He was in love with her.” He’d heard it before when people would talk about their families at home. Even his mother had been deeply in love with his father. “I’ll never understand the gods... why they would make people love them like that knowing that they could never stay with them.” And most of them had spouses or lovers who were gods, it wasn’t like they were too lonely. “You had to take care of him then, and of yourself.” he supplied the last part on his own knowing that was how this would end. “If you do not mind me saying it, I think to him it was worth the pain... you speak of how close the two of you are. If he had not been with her he would not have you.”
@ofdrowsiness: comin' home early because i miss the heck out of everyone, i'll be back in a few hours guys xx
@marccardoza: @ofdrowsiness good i missed you
“If this is a joke I swear to all the gods…”
“No this is the Hades meu prima.”
She didn’t like feeling like everyone wanted to make sure she was okay; it made her seem like she was under the microscope. Eliza was surprised that Chiron hadn’t said anything to her yet, especially since she had yelled at a goddess. But she wouldn’t voice that–he could probably figure that out for himself. When he had said mi before Eliza she had to pause for a second and look up at him. “I wish she had never come here,” was all that she mumbled.
There was no way he could make this better, this was a wound that she would have to heal on her own. No matter how much Marcelo tried there was nothing he could do about it other than listen. He thought back to their date, that disaster, and knew by all rights she probably didn’t want him prying into anything about her but he couldn’t help himself. Even if he was only ever going to be her friend he needed her to be okay. Pulling her into a hug he hoped she wouldn’t push him away, “What did she do exactly? I just want to understand.”
