¹ RULES.

i. due to the nature of terra's character, dark and violent themes will inevitably be present. follow this blog at your own discretion; general dark themes will go untagged, though i try to tag common phobias, darker visuals, etc. please take note that this blog will take inspiration from various sources of gothic literature, and include themes such as derealization, possession, self-harm, and general supernatural themes. you are more than welcome to ask me to tag something that makes you uncomfortable. this blog is 18+. no exceptions.

ii. basic DNI and roleplay etiquette applies. this is a highly selective blog. if you're going to break mutuals with me, i ask that you softblock. do not follow and re-follow repeatedly if i do not follow back; i will hardblock you for that. i occasionally go on softblock sprees, purging inactive accounts and blogs that have not bothered to reach out to me when i have tried to do the same. i curate a small, comfortable online space for a reason, and do not practice follow for follow.

iii. this is a headcanon-based blog. still, i derive most of my inspiration from the games themselves. i'm pretty new to the fandom, however, and parts of the complex lore may occasionally be forgotten. forgive me in advance!

iv. i typically ship with close friends. i'm exclusive to shipping with astro due to this, being much more comfortable having dynamics such as these with close friends.

— name. terra. terra-xehanort. the lingering will. — age. around 31. — height. 6'6". — gender. agender (he/him defaulted, but no preference). — sexual orientation. bisexual. — eyes. brown; during vesselhood, golden. — hair. brown. — attributes. pre-possession: calloused hands, sparring scars, and pierced ears. nails typically cut short for practicality's sake, oftentimes caked with dirt from sparring. post-possession: streaks of gray entangle his hair. retained terra-xehanort's fanged teeth and claws, the latter of which is typically filed to avoid accidental injuries. from so much battle, including hits taken and received, terra is now hard of hearing, and has a hearing aid for his left ear in particular, due to his right-handed swing. now wears braces to support his shoulders, knees, and ankles, all of which have worn throughout the years due to his fighting style. the lingering will: silent and callous, oftentimes mistaken as mindlessly bloodthirsty. — disposition. reserved, grounded, and prone to mood swings and melancholy. can be triggered into violent rages when provoked. after the events of kingdom hearts 3, terra deals with a lot of dissociation and derealization, alongside occasional hallucinations of terra-xehanort and his scions. tends to self-harm by training to exhaustion or unbearable pain. — abilities. expert swordsman and combatant. utilizes ground-based attacks, as well as the his darkness, all of which can be found here. alongside his keyblade wielding, terra trains in multiple forms of martial arts, particularly boxing. terra-xehanort: almost completely identical to terra, with the exception of particularly powerful, dark magics found here. — arsenal. keyblade. a formidable weapon capable of enduring the incredibly hard hits terra strikes. has the ability to form-shift into a keyblade glider, which resembles closely to a motorcycle.

³ VERSES.

bbs. essentially the entirety of the game. ostracized by his master and tricked into serving xehanort, until it was too late. loses both body and heart to xehanort, fracturing him across time and space in multiple forms.

— includes terra-xehanort's apprenticeship with ansem the wise.

kh3. in which terra has now returned to his own body, and helped his fellow warriors of light defeat xehanort once and for all. includes both terra-xehanort's reign, as well as the lingering will's appearances.

— post-3's events primarily involve him dealing with his grief and unbelonging, as well as recovering the relationships that he thought were long gone. mentors riku and traverses worlds with aqua and ventus, ultimately accepting the darkness inside of him as not a weakness, but a strength.

i think it's incredibly stupid if you blame any of the wayfinder trio for what happened to them, but particularly affixing the blame unto aqua, who has been groomed to be an obedient traditionalist of light & keyblade-wielding by eraqus. her entire arc in BBS is not just about sacrificing her own peace and autonomy to assist her friends, but constantly doubting what she has been instilled since, presumably, a very young age.

terra held resentment towards her not because she's an objectively bad person, but because her spying was a breach of trust. but she was sent by eraqus, who has a power imbalance with all three of them, and manipulated aqua into thinking that the task she was appointed, which is (perhaps not intentional) ostracism — something aqua clearly recognizes, and is conflicted over — would help terra, albeit in a sort of "tough love" way.

before accusing anyone of anything, understand that the routes in BBS are intentionally designed to be unreliable narration, considering we're seeing the events occur in terra, ven, and aqua's eyes specifically. i think it takes very little critical thought and literary competence to understand that all three of them have been groomed and manipulated, only recognizing this when it was too late. make no mistake: no one was perfect. terra, aqua, and ven all have to talk this through in post-verse, but the great thing about kh3 is knowing for a fact that they still love each other, and no one is blaming anyone for what happened. the entire situation was fucked up. they were young. they were influenced. but accusing aqua, a trend i've noticed quite often during the 10 or so months ive been in this fandom, is unequivocal misogyny and media illiteracy at its finest.

when he awoke — and how suddenly he woke, violent and throbbing, as if the beast's claws had sunk inside him once more, and began ripping through muscle and sinew, cleaving him open to nest inside — he was met, grimly, with the yellow-eyed looking-glass loitering just beyond his peripheral. there it stood, fanged and sneering, and though the phantasm dissolved before he could blink the sleep from his eyes, terra felt its leer dig beneath his flesh, and the pain lingered, like a fever so strong it eats at what it's designed to protect. (he was that fever. he gorged and coveted, eating and eating and sickly-sweet, like an infection.)

he finds (or, he stumbles, rather; to imply that he did this intentionally is to imply that he is of his body again, but he feels just as strung, just as numb; the force that pulls him is what always has; time grows concave around him, and bursts like magma from the deepest pit of the earth beneath his feet, and he is the fever again, and gorging, and eating) his knuckles hitting the hide of black leather, reverberating across the empty, cold gymnasium. violence, at least, can be useful. it brought him out and struck down the sneering beast but he's haunted, again, by his looking-glass, yellow-eyed and sneering — filled with the hum of madness and wrath —

he tried not to wake her. he thinks he didn't, anyway, but he's not as gentle as he used to be, and he knows he never will be again. his knuckles hit the hide of leather and with each burst he reaches through time and sees what was, yellow-eyed and sneering, whispering the gnarled secrets of war — he tried not to wake her. his fist slams. shockwaves shudder like the fall of droplets meeting a pooled filth below. he's not as gentle. he tried not to hurt her.

but despite it all, her voice — an anchor — his hand withdraws, and the tape over his hand blooms in red, as precise as roses, sullying him, and he isn't surprised that he didn't feel a thing. his head twists, and he sees her — terra turns, not just because he wishes to address her completely, but because he could swear he saw that beast, yellow-eyed and sneering, just beyond his peripheral... he tried not to wake her. he tried. if she understands anything, let it be that he tried. he hesitates to speak, and what feels like moments for her is an infinity for him. ❝ aqua — no, it's... ❞ his voice trails off, peering towards the sullied bandages on his hands, callouses split and festering, and he isn't surprised that he didn't feel a thing. ❝ i should have been quieter getting out of bed. ❞

the act of transforming the enormous range of emotions that make up the foundation of grief, funneling and melding them into rage in order to survive — and it becoming you; anger is as familiar as your mother tongue, but at least you're feeling something. that should count for something.
