Writing a sentence.
Still, she refused to let it be.
"Let it be" from the beatles starts playing in my head.
Quickly rewrites the end.
Still, she refused to let it go.
"Let it go" from Frozen starts playing in my head.
Well, fuck that.
Everyone pray that Shin will canonically be partly deaf in the future and this is not just something that gets brushed aside 🙏
Can you imagine how much Slur's words must have hit Shin back then?
Because he already felt guilty for being a burden to Sakamoto, and Slur plays right into this.
We even see Shin thinking about those words later, where he is too afraid to even show himself to Sakamoto because of it.
Shin is already very insecure about his strength, feeling like a burden all the time and always apologizing when he thinks he is useless. We see this quite often in the manga.
And since especially Sakamoto was the first to see a use in Shin, he is even more focused on trying to prove himself to especially Sakamoto. But now, as he thinks that he was nothing but a burden to Sakamoto, in his head, he completely lost his worth as a person. Uzuki's words amplify that belief.
I am so useless, I'd be better off dead.
That's why he can't even show himself to Sakamoto. He thinks he doesn't even have the right to be there. Give Sakamoto the fruit basker and disappear from his sight, because he shouldn't be there anyway.
This must have been hard to say for Shin. See how he avoids Sakamoto's eyes, looking at the floor, sweating, trying to self soothe by putting his hand on his neck. He is nervous, ashamed, insecure. Feeling that he shouldn't even stand here, in front of the very person that has to put up with a useless thing like him.
What Sakamoto said next was soo important for Shin, because he again valued Shin, telling him that no, I still need you, you're important to me.
And even though it's in character for Taro to think those lines instead of saying them out loud and it's also kind of used for comedy, I just wish he could have said it out loud.
Shin can read minds, sure. But thinking feels like the "easier route" to say those meaningful words. And I am sure that somewhere, Shin appreciates people communicating those things loudly instead of taking the "easier route" just because he can read minds.
He needs to hear those words. We see tears in the corners of his eyes. He was moved by Sakamoto's words, maybe even relieved that yes, Sakamoto still sees a value in him. But by just thinking those words, Sakamoto unintentionally put up a ever so thin wall between them, that could be broken by openly saying those words out loud to Shin.
Like I said, I think it is in Character for Taro to just think this, being vulnerable isn't really easy for him. In a way it even shows how their bond works because Taro can rely on Shin understanding him, even if he isn't a man of many words. And that is beautiful too, in a way.
Anyway, another instance where Sakamoto saves Shin from physical danger (Uzuki) but also from Shin himself (spiralling into the pits of feeling worthless and thinking it's better to off himself)
SHINS NAME IS A FUCKING PUN IM-
Going through a breakup rn and it sucks.
Hana & Shin!
This is from a scene in chapter one of Amidst the Daisys and the Dust, some of you might remember? 🤭❤️
Work in progress 👀
AHHH I made fanart for my own fic and it turned out so cute actually but its for the upcoming chapter so no sneak peak just yet 😔
Shin asakura`~`
Oh so this is how shin would look in goodbye lara's art style 🙈
Chapter 7 is out! (Word count ~7300)
After once again some months of working on it, it’s finally finished. I do have to say, I am very surprised by the amount of words I can put into one chapter alone, especially since I already had to split it up.
Well, just goes to show that the first draft is far from the finished product. I started out with 3000 words. A bit of editing and going over it again and again surely does something.
Already working on chapter 8, which I already know will break the word count again.
Also, I can’t believe we are actually at almost 37.000 words total with this fic. It really grew over the past year!
Anyway, be sure to let me know what you think of the new chapter! I am desperate for some feedback/comments. (jk I appreciate them of course but I won’t force you lmao)
Take care! <3
Wow this doesn't sound like a bot at all 😃
Kind of frustrating, really.
I've started to make an outline for a potential sakadays time-travel fic based on this
I don't know how I'll be able to juggle my one sakamoto days fic (Amidst the daisys and the dust) with another one that is also longer than just a little drabble, but we'll see.
My priority would of course be my first fic, so maybe the other will be something i work on from time to time. Depending on the time and motivation of course.
Probably not hitting 7000 words for chapter 7 but pretty damn close. Few more days, then it's ready.
Well, it's over 7300 words now. I will upload it later today! Yay!
Idea where shin and sakamoto both get sent back in time. Back to before they met each other technically, where shin was still on the streets and sakamoto already knew nagumo and rion.
And shin isn't used to his old, young and especially weak body. In the body of a malnutrishioned 12 to 13 year old, hungry and cold from the streets.
So his first thought is: find sakamoto. And taros first thought is also: where's shin. But they dont know that both travelled back in time.
So they search each other, shin not used to this body anymore, exposed to danger that wouldn't normally be a threat, but now it is.
And maybe sakamoto saves shin just in time, and shin, fully convinced that in that timeline, sakamoto didnt know him yet, feels the relief to his core.
And together they now try to find a way back. Sakamoto more protective of shin than ever, seeing how little he was back then.
