That one night of the year...
109 Sunset by Kimie_Shima on Flickr.
He had managed to drag himself out of his room and off the beaten path that led to Café Wildkat this time. Instead Neku found himself revisiting a particular mural he couldn't help but admire, even to this day. He kept his distance from the wall and his hands in his pockets, as if afraid of getting too close and triggering some of his less pleasant memories of Udagawa. It was okay, though; the distance meant he could take in the mural all at once.
Then again, if approaching the place he had died somehow meant the possibility of summoning Joshua back into the RG... Neku shook his head, knowing the full extent of how shamefully desperate he was for his friend's return, and took a step toward the mural.
Shiki and Beat's one year anniversary was next month, and he hadn't seen any of sign of Joshua in nearly as long. He was tired of grieving for the social life he almost had, but at least his crush on Shiki went numb over the last miserable year. Mr. Hanekoma was no longer as approachable as he used to be, most likely due to the awkwardness in his refusal to answer questions about Joshua.
It was pathetic how lonely he had become, he realized as he stood over the place he had been shot. Of course standing in a certain spot wouldn't bring his friend back, but at least he could better analyze the artwork in front of him now. He looked up at the spray-paint and soon his eyes were lost in the colors, darting across the patterns and symbols of CAT. It brought him momentary peace of mind before realizing this was exactly how he had died before and backing off again in self-contempt.

Shoyo-minamimoto started following you
Sho found sitting on a building near cat street very nice. The hot weather not so much. It had been nice since he had gotten home from work. Until he spotted someone walking down the road. It was no other Neku himself. Well wasn’t this a surprise. It made him want to smile a bit. But he just observed. A few moments later and he was the ground not making a single sound. Well hello there. He as he stood back faced against a wall.
The boy had been on his daily routine of checking up on Wildkat when he spotted the Reaper. He had been checking up on the café for months under the faulty rationale that he'd one day catch Joshua in the RG. Sho Minamimoto wasn't exactly the familiar face Neku wanted to see, but after months of not seeing dead people, Sho's presence made The Long Game real again. Nonetheless the former Player was taken aback by the casual greeting, his eyes narrowed in skepticism.
"What brings you here?" his tone was flat.
Last time Pi-Face was here to take out the Composer, and by some twisted logic that gave Neku hope.
