She blinked and tilted her head in confusion. Did Shintaro not like her hug? Well, of course not, but he would usually push her away exasperatedly and rub his head awkwardly. Instead, he was standing there with a slightly pained expression before he shook his head and opened his mouth to speak again.
"I see! I didn’t think I would see you here, either!" She let go of him, stepping back and yawning loudly. Propping her arms behind her head, she grinned, but then her happy go lucky attitude faltered. The gleam in her hues dulled, and her facial features stricken with sadness.
If her brother was here then.. “You died, didn’t you?” Immediately, the blonde clamped her hand over her mouth, silently shouting at herself for such a ridiculous outburst.
Death, huh? It was certainly an odd concept, something far out of reach of the human mind. One can barely comprehend it, the unimaginable fear of losing your own life in a single moment. But what could Shintaro say? If his "dreams" were right, then he may have died once. Maybe twice, or thrice, or even more. Again he sighed, much more softer and more concrete. He wasn't quite sure how to answer, but if any case...
"I suppose, if that's what where we are is supposed to mean..." It was silly; something like an analogue to Heaven and Hell, except it was neither of those and instead they were stuck in a summer-heated city. It felt unsettling, but at the same time it felt like home. It provided some comfort, but then again, it made him feel uneasy. How were things in the real life world, now?
Death... it's a funny word.
WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
Somewhere, far far away. Or better yet, somewhere closer to her.
Shintaro what do you do with your free time? Momo said some pretty weird things-
Sleep, drink, and go on the internet. What’s more?

It wasn’t like her to be so loving towards her brother. Usually, she would have probably punched him with a frown, or not even made contact with the recluse at all. But here she was; hugging him and rubbing her face into his chest eagerly, giggling to herself.
Maybe it was because the heat was making her hysterical. Maybe the heat was making her have mirages, but there seemed to be something off about the other. Didn’t he always wear a red jersey instead of a black sweater?
"I actually don’t know," her muffled voice said. "I just.. ended up here! What about you, oniichan? How did you get here?”
He didn't recall the other being so... happy. Maybe it was because he hadn't seen the other for awhile, but the thought of her cheerful attitude pained him a shock of realization. That smile and warm aura-- wasn't it like Ayano's--?
Now, now, this was his little sister, there was no way she had any connection with his long-lost friend, but the similarities were too noticeable. Maybe it was just himself, his thoughts trying to connect back to the past, but in the end it was Momo Kisaragi and not...
"I... I have no idea." He'd never really thought how he got here; the first time he just shrugged. It provided a place to be comfortable with, and there wasn't too many people when you went around outside. "I didn't think that I would see you here."

Everyday had usually gone by without a second thought for Momo, just continuing on in this haze. Everything was usually, and always the same. The more the female had stepped outside of the building, the more nostalgic it became for her. So eventually, she had refrained from going out anymore. Though, today was different. She decided that it was time to get out of her stuffy room and force herself outside.
Hah; doesn’t that seem familiar?
She sluggishly dragged herself outside into the heat, sighing as she rubbed her arm awkwardly, suddenly finding herself walking into a large crowd. It seemed like these people didn’t even have faces or any sort of detail that would help her tell them apart. Eh. It wasn’t like she cared, anyways.
Staring at the ground, the blonde just tried to weave her way through the group of people, wanting to separate herself as soon as possible. It was then that she heard her name being called by someone she knew too well. Her head lifted almost immediately, then saw who it was who had called her. Overcome with happiness, she ran over to her brother and tackled him in a hug.
"H-Hey!" He remarked, his expression quickly turning into discomfort and heaved a long sigh. Of course, this was his sister-- energetic as ever, it seems. That smirk of hers was still the same, and hair still vibrant. Same person.
Shintaro rubbed his head, somewhat displeased by this outcome. "What're you doing here?" The question was blunt; never in his life had he managed a... successful conversation with the shorter girl. Today seemed different, most likely because of the situation they were in. Way too many people, and there wasn't an easy way out.
✗ whataheartthrob
The heat of the whole city really bugged Shintaro. Yes, he was used to it, and yes, he lived here, but in the end it bothered him. Occasionally he would feel the haze and sometimes get knocked out in the cold, or he'd have to endure under the hot sun. It wasn't a particularly favorable activity for the man, since he preferred staying in his room.
It was one of those rare moments where he'd go outside, though; and the heat was unbearable, as always. The air was restless, a crazy sensation, heat waves and the like. Yet the man didn't sweat a drip, and he continued walking around, gazing at various people or buildings. It was just a quiet walk, to recollect his thoughts for just a brief moment.
Walking through a crowd of people, his eyes laid rest on someone. A familiar figure, that stupid shade of hair and those casual clothes-- could it be? He blinked for half a second, and with slight hesitation decided to walk towards the girl. He gripped his hands, his eyes flickering for a moment but his focus remained. When was the last time he saw her?
The last time, he'd thought it was a dream, with scissors and knives, but--
"Oi... Momo?" His voice was contorted with confusion and... nostalgia? Whatever it was, he was surprised to see the young girl.

Even though I tried to know you, There wasn't even one thing I wasn't able to solve If I were able to get even a little bit closer to the answer, then these days could've continued forever.
