Kyle’s past isn’t one he likes thinking about let alone talking about. His mother abandoned him when he was a baby and his father took his pain out on him. Growing up Kyle was subject to all sorts of abuse; physical, mental, emotional. When he was only fourteen his father brought a prostitute home from work and locked them in a room together with the final words of: “you’re not coming out of here until you’re a man.” Fearful of what his father would do to both him and the women, he allowed her to take his virginity. He refused to stay home at night after that, afraid his father would just keep bringing more prostitutes in for him to sleep with. One of the nights he was walking around town he heard a scream. He followed the voice and saw a girl on the ground with a man on top of her. Before he fully comprehended what he was doing he pulled the man off of her and slammed his head into the wall repeatedly. It wasn’t until he felt the girl, who he later learned was named Charlie, grab his arm that he stopped. When he looked at her he expected fear and disgust, not thankfulness and relief. They begin meeting up almost every night after that.
When the virus hit he watched the death all around him. He almost wished the disease would take him as well but he had no such luck. When it seemingly dies out a couple years later both him and his father were still alive and soon enough he watched Nevada get sectioned off and made into the sector it is now. It was through all of this that he learned how to be manipulative from watching his father and eventually beat the master at his own game. The nights him and Charlie hung out had become more and more sparse due to the virus but one night, after a month of not seeing each other, he found her crying at their meet-up spot. When she calmed down enough to tell him what was wrong he was livid. Not only had her mother died, leaving her in the care of Eli but his own father had persuaded her to start working for him. In return he convinced his father that he was not only capable to run the club, but would be as merciless as Lucien was. Ecstatic that his son had finally taken an interest in the family business he agreed to let him manage the club. He refuses to tell Charlie that it was because of her that he now not only works for his father but has to confront his past every day. As far as she knows he had been working there for a while and had just never told her. When Lucien discovered that his son was in fact not running the club how he would, that instead of igniting fear in the girls he was befriending them, Lucien was livid. However, upon discovering that in the few short months of Kyle’s rein the revenue had nearly doubled he choose to let him continue managing Désir Noir.
After that traumatizing night in his teens Kyle had refused to sleep with anyone else until one drunken night when he called on his friend, Charlie. He couldn’t remember much about it other then her gentle hands and soft words. After that he realized just how deep his feelings got her had gotten over the years and more so, he became addicted to her company both in and out of bed. She became his closest friend, closely followed by Chelsea, Issac and Desire but Charlie is the only girl he will hire or allow to touch him that way.
Kyle is one of the few people who stands up to his father; especially where his dancers and Charlie are involved. Unfortunately because of Charlie’s mouth there is only so much he can do to stop his father from getting physical with her. He has always been slightly off, which makes most people tread on eggshells around him afraid he’ll snap like his father. Very few people such as his friends and some of the Rev’s who come around, aren’t somewhat scared of him. When he gets worked up Charlie and Chelsea are the only ones who can talk him down. Chelsea and him work close together to make sure the girls stay protected.
