I recently acquired the Darksiders: The Abomination Vault book, and since my dear mother is interested in reading it, but she doesn't understand English and there's no Spanish edition, I'm translating it for her as a surprise gift.

I'm not a professional translator, but I'm doing my best so that she can enjoy this novel too. I hope she likes it 💜

Since I'm more comfortable in Spanish, I'll make the communication in this language about the progress of the Darksiders novel translation I'm making. Please understand, it's so hard to tell...

Llevo tres años intentando traducir la novela de Darksiders. No solo me dio bloqueo debido a mi trabajo habitual y ciertas circunstancias personales, además ayer... Bueno. Ayer, 26 de junio, falleció mi madre tras una larga enfermedad. Ella es la persona que me animó a traducir (como aficionada) esta novela, para que también ella pudiera disfrutarla.

No lo conseguí.

Para mí, en estos últimos meses ha sido más importante cuidar de ella, que estuviera lo más cómoda y feliz posible, que no continuar con la traducción.

He estado pensando en abandonar totalmente la idea y desechar lo que ya tenía avanzado. Pero... Mi madre era de esas personas luchadoras que no le importaba sacrificarse por los que le importaban, le echaba morro a la vida, disfrutaba de todo lo bueno que le llegaba y no se rendía. Nunca se rindió, ni en el último momento.

Así que, en su honor y tardando lo que vaya a tardar, pienso terminar este proyecto. Porque le habría gustado ver que yo tampoco voy a rendirme en nada de lo que me proponga.

Mamá, por ti y para siempre, por la gran mujer que fuiste y eres. Eres mi ejemplo a seguir. Soy la persona que soy gracias a ti, a tu fuerza y a tu filosofía de vida. Gracias por todo lo que has hecho por mí y por estar siempre a mi lado.

Te quiero y siempre te llevaré conmigo 💜
