girl get off that c.ai and embrace the 'x reader'
All Teeth. ₊˚⊹♡
A/N: Im thinking Brendon Park x Equally as scary young MS1, im talking 21-22 similar to Javadi where shes advanced and had connections and winds up interning at the PMTC Summary: A new young talent comes to the PMTC and is almost immediately poached by ortho. Blunt, outspoken, overachieving, and stubborn she immediately catches the eye of the hospitals 'shark'. Reader is implied to be a WOC. Park x F!Reader,Park x MS!Reader Warnings: This is my first fic and totally self indulgent so sorry not sorry! Not completely proofread plus English isn't my first language so I am actually sorry for the grammar. Definitely not medically accurate either.
From your first day in the 'pitt' which just so happened to land on the tragedy which was Pittfest, the hospital has had an eye on you. Fresh faced intern wound up resetting a shoulder displacement which was in the way for a treatment they needed, she did it perfectly and without permission; gutsy, reckless, borderline egotistical, and exactly the kind of dominance in the OR that surgeons needed. Because of how you've gotten where you are, you've learned to be bigger than you need to be-out preforming all your older peers to make it clear your age doesn't correlate to your ability, always being quick to volunteer or answer or ask with the goals to take up as much space as your white male peers did, to never let any hint of disrespect slide because if you give them an inch they'll take a meter.
─────────୨ৎ──────────
When you heard about Brendon "the shark" Park you rolled your eyes; another well off, trust fund, harvard legacy doctor who thought he was God's gift to earth. When Park heard about you he rolled his eyes; young ass doctor thinking she was special for moving up quicker than most, princess probably whose never gotten her manicured hands dirty. When he walked into trauma two and saw her manning the room and people just...obeying, like nobody had any arguments because they knew she knew her shit. He understood deep down she was different, that they'd get along.
─────────୨ৎ──────────
By your second rotation in the orthopedic department you started to understand that Park treated you differently. You never flinched under him, you never hesitated, never let him cause you doubt, never wavered in confidence-he noticed, and he let everyone know. Suddenly you were getting picked to assist in operations, you were always scrubbing in, he always took you along for consultations, he took time to explain things to you or ask you questions, hone you to be the perfect surgeon.
"Come here and feel this" he murmured beckoning you over during a consult, when you stepped beside him and placed your hand where you assumed he was referring to he shook his head. Instead of telling you where to go he placed his big hand over yours, cold, steady, smooth in the way a sharpened blade is; and he moved your hand right to the spot he mentioned, applying pressure so you could feel the divot in bone you’ve learned to recognize as a Hil-Sachs lesion. He was so close, close enough to feel his breath on your shoulder and the slight buzz radiating off him from having you in such proximity, from touching you. But you didnt let it affect you, no matter how much it did inside, you had a job to do and expectations to uphold.
"Hill-Sachs Lesion." You diagnosed smoothly, not moving a muscle other then the ones you needed to speak, afraid he'd pull away before you were ready to lose the sensation. He didn't respond immediately, just a hum and a nod, letting his hand linger over yours.
"You know what to do then sweetheart" he mumbled before taking his hand off yours to leave, the nickname rolling off his tongue too easily. Not taunting enough to be patronizing, not soft enough to start rumors. Not like you hadn't earned a fair share of nicknames now. Your peers had noticed his favoritism and never let you live it down: shark bait, chum, little fish-but one that had actually stuck was Jaws. You had been getting called that since the first day Park took a liking to you and Garcia had joked about him sinking his jaws into you, and afterwards it stuck when everyone found out you had teeth of your own.

After an especially challenging operation that you excelled during, Shark decided to pull you aside.
"I think you should come to the conference next month with me" he suggested smoothly, eyes tracking your face as he bowed his head to get a better look, needing to see your subconscious reaction to the request. You were taken aback, eyes going a little wide as you raised your brows.
"Its my first year in med school, most hospitals wouldn't even allow me to intern, I'm lucky I get to be here." You reminded to which he shrugged, looking at you with absolute certainty.
"You know you belong here." He said simply, eyes searching yours, a silent urge to confirm his statement.
"I do" you responded surely "but shouldn't someone more...acceptable accompany you?" You questioned knowing a 21 year old MS1 would raise eyebrows at a conference full of seasoned medical professionals.
"Don't you think my most capable should be going with me?" He countered easily.
"Well yes, but-" you responded not even hesitating to admit you were the most capable, but that didn't mean everyone knew that...however before you could argue your point he was making up his mind.
"Good, I'll handle everything just clear your calendar." He said eyes lingering over you just a little too long before walking off like he knew the ask was bigger than he played it off to be.
As if you weren't seeing him in the OR in 30, as if both of you didn't know lines were already getting blurred.
