Cloak Recruits: Speed
He offered one single chuckle as the other sprung to his feet. Touchy. Well if he didnât want to use words like âbestâ and âwins by far the mostâ. âMaybe ya outta say whatcha mean, instead of coming off like youâre in it to win it,â he said easily, right hand raising a pointed index finger in an open gesture. Hands landed open at his sides again in a lax stance.Â
A second chance of life? That made him pause slightly, lips forming a thin line under the cowl. Sounded idiotic. Obviously the guy was in power if he thought he could offer that. From the lavish clothes that he wore, as well as enlisting.. Enlisting for what factions? Was this guy trying to build some sort of army? 'Join the Unicornis he said. See the world he said, it would be fun he said,' Xigbar let out a shallow chuckle to his own thought, the smirked turned wry on his lips. "Na. Just signed my life away already, donât plan on doing it again any time soon," he said simply, leaving out the details to whom or what. The tone was passive, ignoring the notion of apology to take him up on his offer. The old king had once given him such an offer that he took, then the Old Coot. Xigbar had learned to stay with those strongest of power, pick the dog thatâs actually going to win the long fight. This guy didnât seem like the sort that could beat out Xehanort. "Heartless? Heh, As if.," he echoed, head tilting visibly to the side. "Corrupted Hearts that fall to Darkness canât have much light in them. Youâd be better off taking it from a direct source."Â
"Well, we do want to win. It is very important that my faction gathers the most light, and not the others. I fear if they gather enough, they'll destroy the rest of us with it. It's... very risky business, as to get the most light, we must fight against the worst darkness. We lose people on occasion, but somewhat rarely--Heartless will rarely kill a victim who's been knocked out. And most of our faction members are very well-stocked with potions for emergencies. Granted, many of them use it to continue fighting past the point they should, but... their determination is not our fault," he finishes, adjusting his mask as he calms down further.
"This is simply agreeing to help protect the worlds; it is more a task of... signing up your political party, would be a good example. You're obligated to nothing. Not all who sign up are warriors, some prefer other tasks. Some prefer none at all. And while we discourage the lattermost, we do not prevent it. We simply want to know who, in the end, after the dust settles, you will choose to support. No life-binding contract. If you really want, you can even change your faction later... but we'll take away all your supplies." he informs him. He almost looks angry at the suggestions of a direct source, fingers curled tightly.
"A direct source...? If you're implying removing the light from living humans, that is horribly immoral, and we would never do such," or at least he wouldn't. Anguis might, the others were too innocent to even think of it. "Unless, of course, you're offering yourself for such a task," a very subtle threat, as it's spoken without a hint of humor. He clears his throat afterward, waiting for reply.
