This study had a bigger sample size and better methodology in general, and concluded that trans men make more than cis women and trans women make less than cis men, but trans women still make more than trans men and cis women.

I think we'd all agree that claiming that this means trans women hold privilege over cis women and trans men would be transmisogynistic.

Everyone's analysis of the shitty study everyone quotes, completely ignored that NONBINARY PEOPLE were shown to be THE MOST LIKELY TO LIVE IN POVERTY. And the shitty study everyone quotes lumped TWO-SPIRIT PEOPLE in with WHITE NONBINARY PEOPLE to claim that they earn more than white trans women.

Honestly, I think that study has some serious issues. So does the study I linked here! I think most studies on this have been pretty fucking flawed, because OVERALL this is an incredibly underresearched field that needs more actual academic interrogation, rather than just cutesy pop graphics that are being grossly misrepresented and cherry-picked as an excuse to be transphobic to trans men and nonbinary people.

But folks love to criticise research until that research backs up their own biases against another marginalised group.

So if they took for example the data of people who have been working somewhere for multiple years and compare it to the data of someone who been working at the same place for a few months they're going to be different. And if they compared people who don't even work in the same sector it's a mess to do so.

I'm still not over the fact that people think that trans men detransitioning is a privilege. And I don't mean detransitioning because they figured out they aren't trans, but because they need to. Because it's safer, either to participate in sports or larger society.

This isn't a privilege, this is survival. Trans women can do the same, they can detransition too. This isn't a privilege when it's someone anyone can do.

And I've seen people claim that for trans women dead is better than detransition.

But then why isn't it the case for trans men?

Or is it because trans men are afab and it's "in our nature to be submissive"?

Or do the people who think that cannot believe that trans men want to be men, do they believe everyone would rather be a woman? Including transmen.

Yes people tend to push trans men toward detransition rather than dead, but it's because they see masculinity as something inherently predatory and so anyone who wishes to be a man when they aren't one by birth is a predator in the making or was a victim of a predator, but feminity is sexual, and they'd prefer if we stayed sexual objects.

At least that's what it looks like to me, and I know some of the language I used in this is dehumanising, but so are their beliefs.

The way overweight and underweight are treated need to be studied or something.

Like I know people who have been underweight for a majority of their lives, most just because their metabolism is like that and they struggle to gain weight, and many are deemed as anorexic at best and drugs junkies at worst.

And well, everyone knows about fat phobia and how overweight people are treated.
