☆ Name; Koda Dyer (they/them)
☆ Personality; Clumsy, gets injuries easily, therefore they carry around bandaids/gauze/etc to patch up on the go. Sweet and kind, a bit monotone and heavily autistic.
☆ Backstory; Koda loved being a crew member in theater in highschool, so much so they started majoring in behind the scenes work in college! They switched within that category a few times, starting with technical theater, changing to stage management and quickly developed a love for it!—but... something was still missing. They arranged a meeting with their counselor, and discussed their feelings, where their counselor suggested a few new ideas; being a director, costume designer, or maybe a producer. Instantly Koda fell in love with the idea of becoming a producer, being able to help idols grow to their full potential, helping them train- it was inspiring! Seeing the light in their eyes, and how good they had succeeded so far in their degree, their counselor suggested they should transfer to their school's affiliated idol college to get even more hands on experience. Koda took no other convincing and immediately finished their transfer right then and there!
☆ mostly ship koda with natsume, occasionally natsume and tsumugi, or simply natsume and tsumugi by themselves without koda! Theres a few other ships i have with Koda but none of them are as worked out as these! So I'll add when they are more fleshed out!
About half way through the mv, the bars appear around the back edge of the front stage, caging them in in a way. Obviously, the Wataru pole dancing moment is hot as fuck, but it is interesting to note that he is the center of attention, the others of fine circling him but never approaching, isolating him.
We know that a lot of early Wataru and Eichi relationship, and Wataru's thoughts towards friendship in general, is that he has to entertain them, but never get too close to them. During the War, he was entertaining, but ultimately submitted to his execution without a fight. The bars disappear enough to free up the rest of the stage after that feature part, and the transition is shown through the executioner's blades falling.
This definitely has to be a call towards Wataru's execution, I can't see it being any other way. Even canonically it is described as each of the Eccentrics being executed in turn (with the exception of Natsume). After this part, Wataru rejoins the main dancing and they are together as a unit again. This is where it starts to get into what I think might be an allusion to his "betrayal" of the other Eccentrics by joining fine.
The way he crushes the white rose could easily be nothing, just a callback to the Queen of Hearts' hatred for imperfections, namely through the white roses. However, that's exactly why I think it has more meaning. He is crushing the imperfection and impurity in fine's angelic image, changing himself to be what they need. Also, as the local valkP who often counts roses and analyzes meanings, it is important to note that white roses often symbolize purity, innocence, and new love/new beginnings.
Wataru is metaphorically crushing the impurity, but the impurity is in fact purity and innocence. It's an interesting oxymoron, but also really sad to consider. Joining fine was something he felt was a betrayal of his dear friends. That's another thing, the new love meaning could easily refer to how the Eccentrics didn't care for each other until the War, but they very quickly grew to love each other in whatever way you like to think. I think the rose clip is especially meant to symbolize his betrayal.
As the final nail in the coffin for the betrayal theming, there's the way the camera falls at the end. Obviously this is meant to be a reference to the Queen of Hearts' classic line of "Off with your head". However, Wataru is the one who did it, and is the last one you see. This is pretty easily explained by him being the center of the song, but also it's interesting because he joined his executioner in fine, thus standing for those same ideals himself.
so basically Chihiro transferred to Yumenosaki during his second year due to Tetora suggesting it to him. He was all alone and broken during his first year bc Chihiro reallyyy wanted to go to an art school, but his portfolio kept getting rejected, so he jst went to some random regular high school. He wanted to quit art but kept coming back to it much to his annoyance. He even joined an art club but isolated himself most of the time.
When he went to Yumenosaki, he just joined the regular course, but still hanging around Tetora as everyone just felt so intimidating to him. He did end up meeting Midori and Shinobu after a while. They both didn't know about Chihiro's existence because they "didn't ask". And their first year was already wild anyway so lowk whats the point </3
i dont wanna yap too much. maybe Chihiro and Midori lore later. i have to sleep soon anyway
I adore the scene from the anime where Shu is feeling despondent and lost... but then he oh so coincidentally finds himself at the Yumenosaki fountain where whadya know... Kanata happens to be puka-ing. Shu clutching his knees and moping looking so so small and meek... but choosing to do so next to the place he knew Kanata would be...
Shu is so bad at Being Vulnerable and Asking For Help but Kanata is obviously a safe space for him and I just think they're adorable.
Like, the kind of "games" that could result in bodily harm.
Rinne craves thrill, and he respects Kohaku enough to not hold back against him in spite of their age and size disparity. He constantly calls Kohaku a kid to torment him, but he shows his true feelings by going all out whenever an opportunity to be competitive arises, even if there's risk involved. A rare demonstration of respect for his resilient little junior who understands him in a way few people do.
Rinne recognizes the special flavor of fucked up that allows him to get thrill out of violence in Kohaku
Kohaku participates because he enjoys seeing Rinne in pain.
One day Himeru catches them playing the knife game and beats Rinne's ass. (It was Kohaku's idea)
I drew the UNDEAD members as their voice actors (◍•ᴗ•◍). I am a big fan of the UNDEAD seiyuus and honestly it was a fun project to do, plus also it was a good practice of referencing photos... Man, I just love UNDEAD
