It is perfectly acceptable to just write a starter for me at any time.
// It’s not breaking in if you know the person @ofstarsnstuff
If you were to ask one Felicia Hardy, she would argue that she was a great friend. Of course, breaking into someone’s apartment didn’t taint her opinion of herself.
It didn’t take long to unlock a simple chamber lock, finding herself inside the quaint little apartment of one Jane Foster. They had met earlier during one of her recon missions. Jane was so earnest and passionate about her job while Felicia was simply inquiring about her research and it was this display of passion that had her just a little smitten with Jane.
Jane’s apartment was neat and tidy, the exact opposite of Felicia’s. Not that her apartment was outrageously messy. She dropped her bag onto the coffee table, toeing her shoes off in the middle of the hallway. The faint sound of a shower running let her knew where Jane was.
Being more than capable to help herself, Felicia took to the kitchen to make herself to a cup of tea. Fall was coming and with Fall came the chilling winds of a soon to be winter. She turned the kettle on, digging through the cabinets for a cup and tea bag.
‘Jasmine Green Tea....’ She turned the box over in her hand. There wasn’t much of an option really, between Jasmine Green Tea and Sleepytime. She settled for the green tea, switching the stove off just a second before it started to whistle. It would be a shame to startle Jane in the middle of her shower.
Tea made, the thief took herself to the couch, propping her feat up on the coffee table.
Lips stained with black blew carefully, cooling her tea down, “You know,” she called out between breaths, “You should really lock your door.”
‘I might be a thief, but that doesn’t make me a bad kitty, does it?’

( 🌟 -- this all feels really illegal. it's kind of exhilarating! || @unluckywithlove )
Johnny didn't usually stay out so late -- they were, after all, still a young teen with a curfew on school nights just like any other, yet here they are. So long as Sue doesn't say anything, or they don't get in trouble while flying over rooftops, it'll probably be fine.
Of course, Johnny never has that kind of luck. They were hoping for night where they could zip about the sky without a worry -- but New York was a city that never slept, and what kind of hero would they be if they didn't intervene in what was obviously a burglary in progress? A lone thug should be easy enough to deal with by myself, right? At least, that's what they're banking on. Distantly, a part of Johnny noted that they probably just jinxed themself.
Making sure they could land out of sight, even though it was probably hard for someone to miss a mass of fire flying past them from overhead, they 'flamed-off' before making a beeline towards the body heat of Ms. Definitely Attempting at Some Sort of B&E-styled Theft.
"Hey! You! Swiper no swiping!"
Felicia didn’t even need to look over her shoulder to know who it was. With a roll of her eyes, she called back out, “You didn’t say it three times.”
And as if on cue the lock to the skylight popped open, falling onto the floor. Felicia was currently attempting to slip into the apartment complex across the street from her bar. She wasn’t dawn in her Black Cat outfit. There was no point since she lived right across the street. There wasn’t much of an identity to hide either and this one was so easy peasy, she couldn’t be bother.
It wasn’t often she acted out of the goodness of her heart, but after hearing ladies at the fruit market complain continuously that their new landlord kept hiking up their rent, charged extra for the use of the elevator and even evicted an elderly woman who paid a small portion of the rent in change, she didn’t feel so bad about breaking in.
“Now, be a good boy and wait here.”
// open starter
So, she did pick up a few habits from Peter. Felicia found herself sitting along the edge of a building within the city. A cup of milk boba tea in one hand as she stared out into the distance while lips stained pink wrapped around a straw. She was fully decked out in her costume, hair blowing in the wind. Her domino mask was hanging by the tip of her fingers. She wasn’t quite just ready yet to go out. Be it to steal or maybe, if worth it, stop a few petty crimes. It all depended on how the city rolled it out to her.
For now, she just didn’t want to spend another damn minute at her bar.

BUCKY, ON THE OTHER HAND, had remained stoic. He watched as she laughed, a frown present on his face. Which was nothing out of the ordinary. At this rate, it was just how his face typically looked whenever he was doing just about anything with just about anyone. He didn’t mind the blonde. He’d seen her a handful of times and despite her intrigue, beauty and overall enigmatic fashion, Bucky hadn’t tried to get to know her. Should’ve known she was a thief, a grand one at that, given all of the techs she presently had and used to start her mission.
She probably had an alias and if he had been anyone else, he would’ve known what it was. He could’ve spoken it into existence off his tongue and into the air but, he was never in the know. Bucky was perpetually decades in the past no matter how hard he tried to catch up.
Well, she certainly looked GOOD doing it. But, he still wasn’t so sure she was any good at committing heists. Unbeknownst to him, he was about to learn. First-hand.
As soon as the air changed, the glass he had barely been leaned against cracked quickly under him. She had dropped to the inside of the building and so had he, just a lot faster than she had. Bucky sucked in a breath as he did, keeping himself from accidentally screaming as he fell and when he landed, he laid flat. “WHAT the fuck ?” He mouthed back, unsure if this had been why she’d apologized to him in the first place.
Dozens of traps and even more alarms heavily spread through the area. A hair inch moved and he would’ve triggered several. Bad luck, he figured. Shit.
Felicia landed with grace, breaking into a roll as she skid onto her knees. She was a breath away from triggering a motion sensor. Her googles allowing her to see the faint beam of red light.
Felicia whistled in response, a smirk on her face. She heard a thud in the background, wincing internally. ‘Ow.’
With a glance over her shoulder, Felicia called out to him, “What a stroke of luck, no?”
Referring to not only his luck of falling through the skylight, but her own luck of not only landing safely, she did just free fall recklessly, but also, having not set off the sensor in front of her.
Felicia got up, brushing herself off. Paying no mind to her guest in the background, she walked around. In this moment, Felicia Hardy maneuvered the room with the expertise of a cat burglar, flexing years of experience. Her eyes scanned the area, looking for a very specific panel along the wall. Her knuckles rapped against the wall, trained ears listening. The sound of her heels
‘Ah. She perked up at a particular hollow sound, turning to face the wall now. With her nails, Felicia traced along the edges of the panel, digging in slightly. It popped right out, revealing a monitor and keypad. Normally, Felicia didn’t interfere with security measures so much. Just enough that it glitched, allowing her the time needed to go in and out before it reset itself and went back up.
But, with Mr. Clumsy down here with her, she sighed. She needed to be in and out before he regained his senses. No time to be tactful. Cat hooked her finger in a wire at the bottom of the panel. Like before on the roof, the air around her got thicker, charged with static. The monitor frizzed before shutting down. She could hear the faint sound of machinery turning off, alarms and sensors clicking before shutting down.
Her bad luck wasn’t always permanent and even she didn’t know if it was going to work 100% of the time. It wasn’t an ability she could always rely on. But so far, it was going smoothly. There was just no telling if it would phase out, turning everything back on.
Satisfied with her work, Felicia headed through the door. His office was one floor down. In and out.
fatedwinter:
“Trust me, I’m not looking for anything. If I was, you’d know.” Clint was terrible at being smooth but he’d at least commit to the bit. “How’s the last week been, though ? Things have been weird, bet it’s been wild here.” Bars meant a form of escape for so many, with alcohol, the potential of getting away with friends, possibly even leaving with someone new. Or at least, that’s what he saw portrayed on television when he did catch a show or two.
“I’m not really doing ANYTHING. For once.” Clint replied. He then did a gesture as in to indicate the ‘cross my heart, hope to die’ thing that kids used to do in high school. Or, younger, he wasn’t actually sure when kids started and stopped doing that. “Just a night out, looking fo do something fun and I wound up here with you.”
“Yes. You’re here. At a bar run by everyone’s favorite little cat burglar. Tell me I’m the Avengers favorite cat burglar. It’ll make my heart soar.” She shook her head, laughing. The only other way through this conversation was to play along.
“Not so much. Honestly,” She began, deciding to take up his offer by getting a beer bottle for herself. This one she popped open along the edge of the counter.
“They only understand so much. More speculation then concern.”
She took a swig, her index finger tapping against the bottle as she drank. What she saw on TV was surreal. A good exchange of information was all she needed from this conversation. So, instead of beating around the bush, Felicia went right to it.
“I have to say,” Her fingers drummed against the counter, “There was something surreal about seeing yourself on TV in the moment of it all. Watching from the outside. I wonder if this--” She chuckled lightly, “I mean, it makes me wonder if this is how Madrox feels when he catches himself.”
