kate’s jaw 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 as she stared over at johnny, in awe of 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘩𝘦'𝘥 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, and not in a good way. “oh… oh my god,” she mumbled, bringing her hand up to cover her mouth as she shook her head. “i definitely 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 want some. how can you – how can you even 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤 that? i mean, dude, it sounds, looks and smells 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜.” she replied. “is there any way i can convince you to toss this? seriously, what if you get sick? or have a caffeine overload?”

Johnny merely laughed at Kate’s horror, grin widening as he continued to pour himself of cup of the monstrosity. “Babe, I’d normally just have a can of red bull to get me through the school day but -- shit burns outta my system real quick, now, so I gotta down way more caffeine for it to actually do anythin’ to me. And the taste ain’t, isn’t, that bad! The sheer amount of caffeine pretty much drowns out any actual taste...” Which, probably wouldn’t be a good thing if he was an ordinary human being. Good thing he wasn’t, though! He then proceeded to stare her dead in the eyes as he downed the terrible concoction in one go.

Johnny absolutely did not feel fine at the moment. Absorbing the flames from a burning building and consequently having to go explode umpteen feet in the air to release the excess energy always took a lot out of a guy. 

He’s just lucky that someone managed to catch him before he became a Johnny-cake on the asphalt. Blearily, he looked over at said savior of the day. “Didja know that star’s aren’t real? Those are just, just the holes put in the container so we can breath --” Man, was he out of it. After a beat he added, rather solemnly: “My bones are spaghetti.”

Johnny didn't usually stay out so late -- they were, after all, still a young teen with a curfew on school nights just like any other, yet here they are. So long as Sue doesn't say anything, or they don't get in trouble while flying over rooftops, it'll probably be fine.

Of course, Johnny never has that kind of luck. They were hoping for night where they could zip about the sky without a worry -- but New York was a city that never slept, and what kind of hero would they be if they didn't intervene in what was obviously a burglary in progress? A lone thug should be easy enough to deal with by myself, right? At least, that's what they're banking on. Distantly, a part of Johnny noted that they probably just jinxed themself.

Making sure they could land out of sight, even though it was probably hard for someone to miss a mass of fire flying past them from overhead, they 'flamed-off' before making a beeline towards the body heat of Ms. Definitely Attempting at Some Sort of B&E-styled Theft.

How would you describe Johnny Storm's personality?

I wrote up some Johnny personality and voice tips a while ago in this post here. The Fantastic Four are an interesting group because they’re based on the four elements both in powers and also in terms of personality. Johnny’s fire: he can be brash and impulsive, quick to flare up, but he’s also warm and family-oriented, passionate about the things he loves, and very aware of the destructive nature of his own powers, the control over which he’s fine-tuned down to an art.

“huh? oh -- you mean this?” he holds up the pot of the nightmarish elixir he just brewed. “it’s just red bull, monster, mountain dew, and coffee all in one -- the perfect cramming night fuel, dont’cha think? want some?”

“oh, c’mon! It ain’t that bad -- okay, it’s kinda bad -- but only a little!” so, he may have accidentally singed some of her hair. it was probably fine. nothing a hair cut couldn’t fix, right? at least her pretty locks was the only tragedy tonight.

“Hey, ‘s a little hot in ‘ere or izzat just me?” with a laugh, Johnny made finger guns at Sue while flames sparked from his hair. Leave it to him to make jokes about his powers as soon as he walked into the room. “Anyways -- how’s it hangin?”

“ ah , hey,  - - HEY ! wait – ! ! ” peter called, clad in crimson and navy, mask lenses widening as someone, anyone, finally walked by for the first time in about twenty minutes, “ y’got anything sharp ? i was testing out some new web fluids formulas, you know - - ones that’d be more sticky but also last longer? and - - so , i might have gotten myself in a more sticky situation.” he explained, head leaning back against the car her accidentally webbed himself to, saying a little prayer he wasn’t asking the car’s owner for help. that’d be AWKWARD.

Johnny didn’t notice Peter at first, hands preoccupied with scrounging through their bag for their car keys while the earbuds in their ears were blasting some random pop song, but it was pretty hard to ignore the signature bright costume and someone speaking right in front of them. 

They froze, promptly unplugging themself from whatever tune they were listening to and, in an almost comically slow fashion, looked up with aforementioned keys dangling from a hand. They balked for a moment, reeling from encountering friggin’ Spider-man being glued to their car, and decided to signal for him to wait while they put their things down. 

“Uhm, okay. Okay. Spider-man’s webbed to my car. Not the weirdest Sunday afternoon I’ve had -- definitely beats weird tiny subterranean men -- anyways, uhm. So. Iunno if keys could cut that stuff, but, uh... I could probably melt it a little..? Or something, like, warm it up to the point its compounds denature or whatever --”
