i think a lot about the fact that no one knew koharuโs birthday until stormblood and that she just. didnโt celebrate it for several years and probably would have continued to not celebrate it but i think that as soon as they know, the scions make a point to celebrate it whether she acknowledges it or not and i think it actually means a lot to her ๐
the reason anyone finds out at all is because she gets ratted out by hien on the eve before battle when everyone is resting and taking a minute to breathe before they storm doma castle the following day. itโs always been a little self-indulgent headcanon that the day of domaโs liberation takes place on her birthday and the cherry trees are in full bloom ๐๐

thinking about the fact that out of anyone, maybe only thancred knows that koharu died in praetorium. thancred, who would know strictly because he was possessed by the guy who killed her. thancred, who she was trying to save. thancred, who will carry that guilt for the rest of his life. thinking about how she probably doesn't tell anyone elseโat least not for a long time. thinking about him noticing a shift in her from that point on where she's gradually getting more reckless. thinking about her recklessness peaking in shb. thinking about him confronting her on it.
