With the arrival of the Nerf Mastodon later this year, I wanted to see how well Mega darts actually hold up when used in a flywheel blaster...
I particularly enjoy that Buff Daddy used the stock motors for the Barricade! Older Nerfers, some of us, know that the Barricade actually had respectable motors, hampered by a thermistor that kept them at low firing speeds. Cut that out and pump more power and it became beastly.
Working on a rifle..looks kinda Destiny-esque..meant for it to be Fallout
So wait…
(I didn’t see this post on mobile so I’m going to post again)
Everyone was in agreement on McCree’s gold gun looking a little too much like a nerf gun.
BUT, have you taken a look at Hanzo’s new skin?
Nerf Code 852 (NXC852) just released their review of the upcoming Nerf Infinus! Sadly, I don’t speak Chinese D:
Nonetheless, there are a few takeaways from this! The self-loading mechanism is MUCH faster than most people I think expected. The samples we’ve seen we solid, but this thing just loads so quickly!
The other is that it appears the blaster will interrupt itself if you load a dart into the top gate while firing, then continue firing! If you listen, it sounds like it completes it’s loading cycle, then runs the dart pusher afterwards.
It’s worth noting they seem to have had some trouble loading the mags but I don’t think that’s the blaster. I bet it’s a combination of unfamiliarity with the platform and loading it at an awkward angle (holding the blaster elevated for the camera).
It also sounds like when you insert a magazine, it runs it’s loading cycle. I will bet that since the blaster has an empty mag indicator, what happens is that the dart loading system normally sits level with the top dart of a loaded mag, and a small momentary switch is depressed while there’s a dart present. When you load a dart in the gate on top, the loading ram mech retracts upwards and the dart is pushed into place, then down by the loading ram. I think when you load a mag, the loading ram retracts then descends to check for darts.
Anyway, that’s all I can guess from the video, I love this channel, please support and watch their content!
Oh, and welcome to my blog. More content soon. Ish.
