i just cannot get over the raven cycle character’s abilities just being an expression of the way they love:

blue loving through physical touch, anchoring and empowering the people she loves through her closeness, but also regaining her energy through touch

gansey loving through words of affirmation, and using his words to make people listen and feel appreciated, but also needing reassurance from the people he loves

ronan loving through gift giving, dreaming being his literal expression of love seen through the hand lotion/epi pens/eco camaro

adam loving through acts of services, literally sacrificing himself to a forest to save gansey but rejecting any help because he is afraid to be be loved and to be vulnerable

and noah, who loved through quality time, and spent the little time/parts of himself he had left to be with the people he really needed, and to give gansey the one thing he never got

something I like about Blue Sargent is that she’s so believably seventeen years old. she misses her mom and yearns to keep her friendships and also to pursue her future and grow. she insults her cousin to her face but loves and is very protective of her. she wears fingerless gloves to cemeteries to look cool even though she knows trying to look cool will bite her in the ass, she monologues about how if she opens her pink switchblade she’s sure she’ll cut herself as a sensible teen but also monologues about how she looves the idea of herself as a badass with a switchblade, and then she does indeed open it and cut herself and connects it to her emotional hurt. she’s both self-conscious and confident, and highly pretentious. She’s a one thousand year old condescending brat who wishes she was surrounded by fellow one thousand year old condescending brats at all times. she’s impulsive and idealistic and empathetic and sensible and stubborn and judgemental and curious and compassionate and playful and fiercely loving. she’s a fanciful sensible thing, she’s good but she’s not nice, she’s brave because she’s full of fear. I love her

THIS is beautiful, the angst, the pining, the symbolism. Andrew's attention was never on the court, but on the eyes watching the two most important people in his life. Neil's priorities is the court first, then notices Jean eyeing him and his family. Kevin taking no notice of Jean or anything else other than the court - his one and only priority.

Poor Andrew doesn't need to go to his trigger state, I'm sure it was additionally cathartic for Neil to be able to murder a predator while he was there.

no because like. he taught him french and it would be their little secret. they had each other when it felt like there was no one else. kevin saw nothing but the court and jean had given up on hoping for more than that years ago. he got punished because he let kevin go. he hates him now. they can hardly speak civilly to each other now. kevin gave him a place with the trojans. they were "tight". he sent him postcards and souvenirs and jean kept them all. he knew better than to look at another man too long and how appropriate, how in character that a pretty face had fucked him over yet again. he wished a thousand painful deaths upon the foxes' queen for just minding his own business. he ran messages between him and his gf. he slit his throat on the way out. once upon a time jean would do anything for kevin and kevin knew it.
